Supporters of the Klitschko Brothers, Vitali and Wladimir.
Upcoming Fight:
Wladimir Klitschko VS Sultan Ibragimov
Who Will Win? How Will He Win? And What Makes Him Better?
I Say Wlad by K.O by round 10 because of his awesome physical power.
Tips?

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
Wladimir Klitschko will win by KO in 3-5.
He's got all the advantages height, reach, weight, power, experience....and he's fought on the highest level before.
I remember Manny Steward talking when Wlad was getting ready to fight Sam Peter and he said "This is where we introduce Sam Peter to big time boxing"......well this fight is no different, Sultan hasn't fought the good competition and the big fighters he has fought have little similar with Wlad other than height.

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
Being the new guy, this probably isnt the best thing in the world for me to be admitting to, but Im an unashamed Wlad/Vitali nuthugger.
Having said that, I predict a KO by Wlad in around the 7th.

So is Lyle. And he's proud of it. That being said Wlad by brutal knock out. Around the 4th round

Plus I say Sultan is a good fighter but he beat an old holyfield by decision and same with a shameful briggs. Say Wlad would have KO'ed them both if he had fought them.

Hey, I am a true fan...and other than Corey Sanders I don't forsee any threats to Wladimir other than himself
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
Vitali should be in Wlad's corner no doubt yeah?
Heard Vitali wants to fight the winner of the Maskaev VS Peter fight.
Vitali V Maskaev...who wins?
OR
Vitali V Peter...who wins?
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
I am not sure if Vitali is up for fighting again...he's older and he's been hurt and hasn't fought since like 2004.
I think he is OK with just letting Wladimir do his thing but you never know.
If he's healthy he'd beat anyone out there

I shudder when I envision the kind of shape Evander'd be in right now if he'd fought Wlad that night instead of Sultan. brrr! ::shiver::

As far as I know, Vitali's still in the game, just waiting for the winner of Maskaev/Peter. Doesn't matter who he fights, it'll be Danny Williams all over again.

Huge Klitschko fan here.... BOTH...

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
I guess you can say I'm a fan ;DI hope Vitali does dance with the winner of the Maskaev-Peter fight.

Judging by Sanders last performance and the injury he sustained in his second to last fight. I'm very confident that Wladdy would not have any problems against him. :)

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
K.O. in 6 for the big man.

Well I do want to see him knock Sultan the fuNk out to be sure. Southpaws are always crafty...you can't sell any of them short.
In some ways Sultan seems like the PERFECT opponent for Wlad....and this worries me a little bit.

I know what you mean, it's one of things where it feels so certain it's scary. Like too good to be true... :-\
Fucken Lyle, now you got me thinking.... :(

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
Wlad is going to walk through Sultan I am certain of that...Wlad has one real weakness his jaw..and IMO it is not as soft as many believe...I seem to remember another HW that was with Stewart and many thought his jaw was that of fine china and most dismissed him as a fraud waiting to be exposed and run out of the division for good.....
Today that same HW is reguarded by many of those same critics in being one of the top 5 of all time....Like Wlad Lennox was good before Stewart but became great after they became a team.....
Offense wise there is really not much to criticize Wlad about...He is rather fast for a guy so big..he is STRONG STRONG STRONG...cant say it enough about him....And again the main thing is he keeps getting better......
Even if Wlads jaw is as weak as many think it is starting to become the stage where where you can't KO what you can't get to
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
I actually don't think Sultan's the perfect opponent for Wlad. He moves pretty well, kind of akward, pretty quick left hand and he doesn't take many chances. Most likely won't be enough to win but he could frustrate Wlad for awhile.
Not as perfect an opponent as like a Calvin Brock IMO.

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
Sultan is light (for a heavyweight), he's short (for a heavyweight), his power is hard to judge...he was able to KO Lance Whittaker but drew with Ray Austin.
The worries I have about Sultan are #1 He's a southpaw with more than average power....he's definently between Chris Byrd and Corey Sanders on power. #2 He throws WILD.
Wlad can and should win in devistating fashion, I always get a little nervous when he fights because you never know IF he is going to suffer another set back.
The keys for Wladimir are easy
1. Establish the jab and pace the fight to your liking
2. Avoid the left cross
3. Be efficient with your power punches
4. Keep your hands up and makes sure you come back with your jab and don't just drop your left hand...bring it back and defend yourself.
5. Drag Sultan into the deep waters and test his heart
The keys for Sultan are a little different depending on if he's going for the quick KO or the absorb the punishment and tire Wlad out KO
1. Avoid the jab of Wladimir....sure you want to avoid the power punches but he won't throw those as often unless he has established the jab
2. Work the body and make Wlad's guard drop
3. Constant motion, move quick in and out of range to stay safe
4. Be quick with the left cross....we don't know how Wlad will handle that and the different angles you will give him.
5. Press the pace of the fight
Sultan's chin has been checked and he does have stamina issues so it will be difficult for him to last through the punishment Wlad will inflict on him but we don't know about Sultan's heart.

I agree with pretty much what you said except IMO Wlad should establish his power in the first rd...Not go for the KO but make Sultan know whats there...It will make him tennetive to throw wild or even step in...Making Wlads night easier IMO
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
.....dude, that jab IS a power punch...landing that with authority will put Sultan in his place early
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
LOL for Wlad I agree it is but I was talking about a nice strong hook or straight right....
The first time I really seen how strong Wlad was is when he fought Mercer...Ray had never been down and had a hell of a punch himself at the time...Wlad the first time Wlad caught Ray with a solid Combo Mercer hit the canvas like someone had pulled the rug out beneath him. No falling back no stumble just down he went...Ray got up looked staright at Wlad and just shook his head side to side...Had that HOLY S*** this guy hits hard expression.......
I always thopught that if Wlad had a chin on him like Evander the only way to stop the guy would be if your corner man caught him in the back of the head with a bat as he circled the ring
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
Haha yeah when Ray went down, he looked at his corner and was like "What am I supposed to do about that?"
...I actually think Wladimir has a hell of a chin he just doesn't handle being punched well. That sounds moronic but get this, Corrie Sanders hit him FLUSH several times and at no time was Wlad out cold....Wlad was definently shook up but never closed his eyes and went to sleep.....a lesser fighter would have.
Now if he had Tyson, Holyfield, or Mercer's ability to take punishment then he'd be almost unbeatable...it's only fair he have SOME flaws ;D

I dont care if Holyfield was wheeled out to the ring he's still hard to stop, Briggs wasnt even competitive in that fight, it was one-sided IMO.

Larry Donald, Chris Byrd, and James Toney made Evander look horrible...the fight vs Sultan was a good showing vs Evander but he didn't even knock him down and I think at this age you have to expect that from a guy who is supposed to be an above average puncher.
Shannon Briggs doesn't throw any punches at all.....he's the only guy to ever win a title with a disease though ;D
....I guess Holyfield's heart problem and hepititus doesn't count ;D
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
I like both Klitschko's, but am not a major fan. I liked Vitali more than Wlad. Vitali was more exciting and had more of a warrior mentality.
But I like that Wlad is a RHCP fan
Wlad KO or stoppage by 9. Sultan has got some good movement and will do his best to prolong the inevitable.

I have actually made that arguement with guys before...Like you said in the Sanders fight he was not out of it..he was not laid cold...IMO he panicked when he was hit...Did not know what to do...I think that they trained so long on offense that his team did not concentrate on defense...Vitaly did not have all that good defense either...Vitaly could just take a punch better.....Thats why I mentioned Stewart in my other post...Manny wioll concentrate on not just defense but how to keep controlled under fire...people don't realize how hard that is and if you are not used to it I dont care how hard you hit you will fall apart...
His fight against Brewster he punched himself out IMO he was winning until he got tired in the 5th.....
Everyone blast him for the 2 KO losses but no one ever credites him for getting up off the mat to beat Peter who IMO hits harder then both Sanders and Brewster...Again I give a lot of that credit to Manny...

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
I reckon if this was Vitali vs Ibragimov then it would be a one-sided fight on Vitali's favour.
Though I still think Wlad will win. I agree with Lyle on the points Wlad needs to do.
Read an article on the Klitschko forums a while back, about Ibragimov's trainer or manager or something baggin' on Wlad in some pretty ill-mannered ways.
I hope this doesn't make Wlad angry in the fight because he will not fight properly. He needs to stay focused and play the game just like he plays chess, with strategy.
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
ANother thing, stupid question but who do you pronounce Ibragimov's last name?
I have never heard it.
I always say it like... E-Bra-Gee-Mov
But I heard someone say... I-Brag-E-Mov
How you say? Lol.

You know why that is? His trainers in the amateurs put the centers and forwards from the Russian basketball team in to spar with Vitali and made Vitali work only on his defense. So current NBA player Stanislav Medvedenko got to punch Vitali in the face without fear of a retaliatory attack.
Also Vitali's defensive style was more awkward...more along the lines of a Jack Johnson than any current fighter...it worked well for him

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
Wlad wins by unanimous decision. Suprised?!
Me not really. From the start it looked like a David vs Goliath with Goliath being the easy victor. Wlad dominated Sultan the whole fight in my opinion.
I'm happy but dissappointed at the same time. Wlad had heaps of chances to throw the right and land. He could of KOed Ibragimov easy and early.
His corner and brother, Vitali, kept telling him to throw the right but he didn't that much. Don't know if he was nervous or just toying with Sultan.
Could have been better.
I was impressed by his calmness before, during and after the fight. Especially in the interveiw when the presenter asked him "Do you plan to fight the Maskaev-Peter winner?.....Do you and Vitali plan to make the heavyweight division a 2-headed champion?"
Wlad responded with "My brother Vitali wants to come back and fight that winner....We will see what happens. We'll just keep fighting everyone that comes."
Good answer.

....I told everyone I was a little nervous about this matchup.
I am surprised he didn't even knock down Sultan unless you count the unscored knockdown where he got saved by the ropes

Yeah. See that take-down by Sultan? Turned into a wrestling match for a second.
-
Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
It was a damn shame the fight ended up like it did but Wlad still won. Hopefully his first defense as a unified champion will be spectacular and infront of a huge crowd.
Wladimir definently wants to be the fan favorite, that's one of the reasons the purse of this fight was 50/50....I bet nobody knew that

Re: *_*_*klitschko Krew Thread*_*_*
i like wlad klitscko although i ain't a big fan of vitali
