No respect for Arthur Abraham
Is this the most protected fighter in the biz, or what?
Since that terrible decision against Miranda, he has fought a string of nobodies. Now Elvin Ayala? Who lost to David Banks--twice? How does he even get into the title picture? Because of a draw with overblown Contender champ Mora? C'mon...
He is fighting a list of losers like I have never seen a 'champion' do before. And they continue to do their best to accommodate him by not sanctioning a mandatory or a #1 or #2 contender. What a crock!
I give him credit for his wins over Ikeke (Mwt) & Jantuah (LtMwt), but he refuses to fight any real top ten guys, I really wish Winky would have taken the contract to dispose of this overrated boxer, and I think a fight with G. Lorenzo would be the perfect remedy at this time. But again, he seems to disappear from anything that might pose a real risk to his record.
Don't get me wrong; I think he still might be able to make waves in this division, but until he steps up the competition, he will always remain overrated in my book.

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
To be fair he fought pretty decent competition on the way to his title and then took the fight against Miranda. Its just since then he's gone into a shell, I mean a few keep busy type fights is one thing but four in a row? Needs to get his shit together.

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
He has to protect his paper title. Those things rip real easily.

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
...for him fighting a guy who just got a draw with mora and then two losses count em' two against banks is pretty sad. A tune up fight is one thing but when you start beating up ordinary people off the street...............anyhow just fight miranda again abraham.

hehehe too funny man. Check this out though:
2008-06-07?
Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York, United States12
~ IBF middleweight title ~
bout subject to commission approval / change
He is coming over here to fight. I wonder if he is trying to line something up with Duddy? Nah I doubt it, Duddy bats over .500 in KO's! hehehe

If Pavlik needs a dance partner for the 7th of June and Abraham is going to be fighting on that date then why don't they fight each other? I have never seen Abraham fight so I have nothing bad to say about him but I really wouldn't mind seeing pavlik in the ring against him.

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
I do not like what Abrahams is doing but I think in the long term he is doing what is best for his career. The picture of his jaw being broke and still fighting on against Miranda shows a lot of guts and he does need a lot of time to recover. It is his livelihood and he does need to protect himself. Miranda may have the respect but I believe Abraham will have a longer and more lucrative career. He will choose when he fights Miranda and it will be when he is ready and probably when Miranda is not. (my spell checker is not working)

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
Abraham is another Svenn Ottke or Daruisz Michalzweski...it's a shame, he's got good skills....GOOD but not great.
Abraham is a guy people would LIKE to see....but they would also like to see him test himself like Jermain Taylor or Kelly Pavlik or even Edison Miranda.
Abraham is a flat out disgrace to the middleweight division

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
Man... if it will be Pavlik vs Abraham on Jun 7th...it will be great...FOTY...

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
He's fought decent guys they arent to be just written off, but he does need to fight either Sturm or Pavlik soon. I would say Sturm makes more sense being the battle for Germany, but will they risk their current status to do it? Umm Miranda isn't in the picture because he cant make the weight and I don't think Abraham is gonna go out of his way to rematch a guy he beat, so once again Miranda is just saying stupid shit...I thought he was fighting Ayala as his first fight here in the U.S. but I see it's taking place in Germany. Im wondering if its his send off fight, or if he's ever gonna leave Germany.

Just noticed that. hmmmm Abraham and Pavlik both scheduled to fight at MSG on June 7th against unnamed opponents. Even if they do not fight each other on that date, there is definitely work being done in the background to match them up eventually.

i can't stand abraham, i can't wait for the day that he faces pavlik and gets destroyed

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
The fight with Demers was one coming off a loss which he looked good in. Gevor was a world class fighter in my eyes and that fight was a very good one with an outstanding knockout. Elcock proved that he wasnt too bad by beating Eastman but obviously I dont think he did enough to earn a title shot. His next fight is questionable but if its setting up a major fight in the USA im not too fussed about it. I think the fighters arent as bad as you first think, but dont forget Abraham hasnt been around as long as some of the champion at middleweight and he needs experience so he can fight with the best. I think he will do well in the future and I look forward to seeing his US debut.

Gevor and Demers were both fine, and Gevor was his manditory. You can't complain about those, but Elcock didn't prove much by beating Eastman - so did John Duddy. Eastman is completely done. Elcock back to back with Ayala is a disagrace. Since it looks like Duddy is out of the picture for June 7, Pavlik and AA should just get a deal done. AA's camp talks all kinds of smack about him being willing to fight anybody. Well put your money where you mouth is. Pavlik would take the fight in a heartbeat.

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
I believe that not a lot of want to fight in Germany for obvious reasons... that they will get a bullshit decison or have to knock them out. I think that AA wanted to stay put in Germany so a choice of fighter might not always be the best. But as I said before I think he will prove himself when he gets over to the USA.

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
Abraham already got his ass beat once.
I wonder how much Miranda pays him each month for storage fees on the belt.

Re: No respect for Arthur Abraham
Miranda would loose if he ever faught Abraham at middleweight again. At supermiddleweight I think that might be a different story...

My man is the one who fought 4 times in less than 8 months against opponents with a combined record of 85-1 with a 78% KO record.
Show me any ranked boxer that has EVER done something close to this.
Whether you like it or not, most people think he got screwed in Germany. So the only legit loss on his record is against the current, linear, undisputed, undefeated, middleweight champ.
Quit being a hater. If more boxers had the heart and determination as Edison 'Pantera Miranda' then boxing would be back on top. Maybe you should show some respect for someone who is great for the sport you enjoy so much.

Funny thing that someone, who never gave AA any credit for fighting 8 rnds with a broken jaw, someone who never acknowledged that AA wobbled Miranda quite a few times, while his jaw was broken, someone who never admitted that Miranda went lowblow crazy and someone who played the headbutt down...calls me a hater...
Get it right...I think that Miranda is an entertaining, but overrated fighter...
You still start over and over again with Miranda beating Abraham...I only correct you there;)...Like I said before get over it...We both have to live with it,that some people here think Miranda won and some that AA won...But you are the one who seizes every opportunity to tell your viewpoint and I'm a hater because I tell mine... ??? So...what makes that you...???
Give it a rest... concentrate on the future and not the past and you probably won't hear again from me...
