I read somewhere that he isn't working with Billy Blanks anymore either.
In that interview it says hes going to be down somewhere between
212-217 if thats the case maybe and thats big maybe he is taking this seriously.
If he comes and really does well in the williams fight and is in good shape I will take him serious but if he doesn't then it really is time for him to retire.

Well he did beat Peter the first time...
Didn't know this forum was so pro-Toney? So many people on here hated him.
Anyway most of his fans think he's old and past it and wish he would just retire. That and he hasn't been fighting is why there's not much talk about him.

I hate to be a "hater", but James Toney is one of those fighters who really gets my goat and drives me madder than anyone else in the sport. He's a trash-talking numpty who doesn't get involved in super-exciting fights and just yells the dumbest thing he can think of to get media attention.
Fact is, James Toney isn't even the best heavyweight named James.

I'm a huge Toney fan. If Toney was nothing but a fat, washed up, blown up middleweight, then how come he handed Sam Peter his ass in the first fight? THat was an outright robbery, James gave him a boxing lesson and got robbed.
In the second fight he looked bad, and from what I read he looked bad in his last outing, but I'm not counting him out yet.

Some of the Toney bashing in this thread is pathetic. You're talking about an all time great, a guy who fought THE BEST from middleweight to heavyweight and everywhere in between. A guy who never ducked anyone. Yeah he's a fat bastard now adays, nothing wrong with the fat jokes, but James Toney deserves more respect than a lot of you give him.
