Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a David Haye fan, great for British boxing but he's shown Enzo no respect at all in the runup to this fight.
He says he'll win because he's just an all around 'better human speciman' and how Enzo is not even close to being in his league.
He has said he thinks this fight won't last more than a minute into round 1
Enzo meanwhile whislt bullish about his chances has come off very well I think, not resorting to trash talking and respectful of his opponent.
I think Haye will win, and it's probably better for boxing that he does seeing as he could then go on to make some real noise at heavyweight.
But there's an ever growing part of me that would LOVE to see Enzo do to Haye what Carl Thompson did.
He needs humbling.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I actually do believe that he is going to get sparked out to be honest. Hes slower than Enzo and I dont feel that he is fully up for this one like Enzo is to be honest. Hes been struggling to make the weight and this does mean that the power is going to be more towards Enzo himself. Enzo is a bull at the weight and Hayes guard is awful and Enzo will exploit the fact his right hand is held low and I feel he will get in that powerful right hand and stop him.
Dont get me wrong Hayes bloody strong too and if he catches enzo I think that will be it too. Its a real pick em' fight, but I just feel that enzo has done more and deserves the win. He seems the nicer bloke and I think he is the only person of stopping Haye at the 200 pound weight class.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
No. I want Haye to KO Enzo and then become a heavyweight champion.

Yeah good points, I agree, although I disagree that Enzo is the only guy who could stop Haye.
If O'Neil Bell ever actually fought he'd batter the fuck out of Haye imo. The shots that guy can take are just crazy and he would wear Haye down and take him apart brutally in the middle rounds imo.
I'd honestly give Haye practically no chance to beat O'Neil Bell, he's still the best cruiserweight in the division imo. The only reason he didn't beat Mormeck the second time around is because he started too slow and Mormeck ran like a little bitch for the last 5 rounds.
Haye wouldn't run......and consequently would get laid out in spectacular style.
Highlight reel KO for Bell imo

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
From what little i've heard from haye over the years he hasn't been respectful to any of his opponets, Between his pimp suits and all that other garbage i wouldn't expect him to either. I'm once again excited about seeing this fight either guy could win and i'll be happy.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
it'll be exciting... like both men:D

yeah damn right haye is oging to get sparked,
but in fairness, he is syaing that shit because he is as insecure as he has ever been, he is trying to make him self believe what he is saying, aint working tho this guy has lost this fight in his head already.

I dont think all of this inactivity is good for him though. He needs a lot more fight is he wants any say at cruiserweight IMO. Hes faught 5 times in 4 years and 2 of those fights were against Mormeck and one of which he lost. On the other hand Haye and Macca are getting in a lot more than that and showing that they are running the show at crusierweight. O'neil Bell is against Tomasz Adamek next in his home ground so that is a potential risk as well and at 33 hes going on a bit too. Lets hope he can get in the mix at the weight because he still can have a say in the devision. But inactivity isnt going to help that.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I don't care who wins if im to tell the truth but I am leaning towards Haye.
I hope we get a real war. England needs a great domestic fight.
Just remembered I'm working saturday night earlier!
FUCK!

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I rather see Enzo get sparked. And I think we will
-
Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
Yeah, Enzo is going to sleep big time. Another Warren built record that is gonna get tested this weekend. I don't rate Haye that high but he's got the power and Enzo hasnt been in with hardly any tough fights. Haye won't make waves at heavyweight he's too small he should stay cruiser if he can...
-
Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
Come on, Haye's flash-as-fuck but he doesn't come across as an arrogant fraud.
He backs up what he says, he belongs to a minority of fighters that genuinely WANT to challenge themselves against the best available fighters.. How many admit to having a "suspect chin?"
Put it this way, if Enzo beats Haye you wont be seeing him fight ANYONE with a pulse for 18 months.. bet on it.
It's highly possible for Haye to KO Enzo in the 1st round so there's no reason for him to not believe it.
Plus Frank Warren looking SICK, SICK, SICK should be the ultimate motivator for EVERYONE to back Haye.

Seems like you don't know much about boxing with that statement.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
Haye is Flamboyant but you like someone who can stir the pot, especially at the higher weights.. I would like to see Haye win move to Heavy make some noise and bring some recognition to the heavies, he is certainly more exciting and marketable than Klitschko
-
Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I see Enzo beating Haye but Haye still being able to win a belt in the garbage heavyweight division.
-
Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I can't see how Enzo is quicker than Haye. No way.
Haye says alot of things that can be taken out of context but usually they are said with a smile. A cool guy who is down to earth and who is articulate enough to work the press.
I hope Haye wins as he has the potential to go onto Great things and wants to challenge the best at Heavyweight while Enzo is a good fighter he will end up fighting no hopers like Bobby Gunn because thats how Warren works his fighters.
The only reason this fight got made is because Warren is hoping Haye is weight drained enough for Enzo to beat him - It's not gonna happen Frank.

Good post mate. Warren knows this is Enzo's biggest fight (in money terms too) so far. If he thought Enzo was gonna lose I don't think he would have him in for this fight unless he thought it's Enzo's last and only chance at making it big. Warren always saves his fighters till the last hurrah.........or tries to.

I think it could very well happen.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I,m hoping for an exciting fight. Haye ought to win and it would be disappointing for him if he doesn't and loses by a lucky punch.

well sorry mr arrogant Haye hasnt exactly looked as if hes done miles more than Macca except beat Mormeck which I do believe Macca would do as well. He had a hard fight with Fragomeni and Macca can punch A LOT more harder than him, if Haye got caught with some of those shots by Macca he would be on the fucking deck. In terms of level of opposition faught I actually think Macca has faught the harder fighters to be honest. Except for Bobby Gunn which was a joke most of those fighters were a lot better than Hayes.
So for you to say something like I dont no anything about boxing is pretty pathetic to be honest because David Haye is getting his ass knocked out on sat night and you will see that and take back that statement.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
Having met Enzo a couple of times, it's impossible not to become a fan. The humble persona and friendly demeanour aren't put on. Thats him!
However, one can't help but being nervous in the build up to this fight, Haye can dole out punishment that is very difficult for any man to take. He's got a comprehensive amateur card behind him and he's coming off his biggest win. Haye does pose a huge threat early and in my opinion Haye will want it to finish early. It's not in his interest to get into the mid and late rounds with Maccarenelli, who's stamina is actually far superior to Haye's.
If the Macca fan was looking for encouraging signs, they may locate the primary sign in a surprising location. I believe Enzo has developed into a superior boxer under the tutelage of Enzo Calzaghe. His movement and defence have excelled alongside his conditioning and one can't deny that these are areas Haye is lacking. Although holding his hands to impersoante a classy slick boxer, Haye is not that elusive and his defence is actaually poor. Added to his noted stamina problems and it's easy to see that it is in Enzo's interest to drag the fight into the later rounds.
As we saw December 8th, my man Ricky was Ko'd in Vegas. This was largely a result of fatigue and the accumulation of clean shots he received. Should Enzo drag the fight into the second half, perhaps spoiling the fight in the early goings and dogging the body of Haye in order to slow him down, he has an excellent chance of stoppinh HAYE IN THE LATER HALF OF THE FIGHT.

I know what you're saying, but Warren has been pretty disrespectful of Haye in the past, so I'd love to see Warren fall on his arse considering he said he'd retire if Macca didn't beat Haye.
Plus from an English perspective, if Macca loses, he's a Welshman, but if he wins, he's a Brit, lol.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I'd be satisfied either way if we get an entertaining fight.

I just wanna see the look on Frank Warren's face if Enzo gets ko'd.

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
Haye's wins over Gurov and Fragomeni are better than any of Enzo's wins
-
Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I like Enzo but Im after a Haye win.
If Enzo loses he will dissapear for a while.
If he wins, he'll dissapear for while and take the belts with him. Not his doing I might add ;)

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I hope Haye gets sparked too. Too mouthy and overrated. Enzo needs to knock him back down to earth. Should be a great fight whilst it lasts.
Im not actually gonna go out on a leg and make a prediction here though!! More tact these days!! ;D

I'm starting calculations for a visit to the bookies :)

Re: Is anyone else kind of hoping Haye gets sparked on Saturday?
I think Haye just says what he needs to to sell the fight a bit,
he is always a nice guy when you see interviews, a little cocky but thats his personality as the Hayemaker
Look at how he acted when he lost to Carl Thompson, congratulated the man and had his arm around him in the post fight interview
