King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
I think this is for Juan's benefit. For whatever reason,he's nowhere the star he should be. Unbeaten, young, educated and exciting to watch(and I'm not even a fan) but the kid should be much higher than fighting in dingy cards in Chicago or wherever it was.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
While I say good job to any fighter who can break away from King, Juan's Manager sounds like a real monster if Don King is willing to toss a fighter aside like that.
Juan better be at his best Saturday as the fight is in Mexico and Don gave him up before the fight even started. The stars are aligning against him to lose a decision.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Good for Juan.A break away before the Cement hardens.Diaz has all the tools to be a top star and the last thing he needs is to disappear into the witness protection agency like stable of Kings many fighters past and present.
Whos he sign with ?

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Juan has been waiting to break away for some time now.
GoldenBoy have expressed interedst in Juan

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
I agree Gamo, an undefeated, fearless law student that calls out Pac is unrecognized ? It is a shame, but that will all change soon. Although this Saturdays fight should be a little tougher than most expect. I expect a 8th round TKO for the baby bull.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Juan doesnt need Don King. These lazy hevyweights need him to promote the sh@t out of their fights because they cant get enough interest becuse of their lackluster performances. Diaz is always in exciting fights and always comes to fight. People want to see him fight. Golden Boy, Gary Shaw, Top Rank or whoever will get him good money fights and promote him well.

How about calling out Pac and has a legit chance of beating him? Diaz OWNS the lightweight division and I haven't bet against him since seeing him dismantle Cotto.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Diaz will loose Sat. by Decision..... ;)
Don King and Jose Sulaiman are very good friends.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)

OMG! Are you serious? What makes you think he's the most overrated fighter?
Juan Diaz is a WBA, WBO and IBF lightweight champion and he defended his crown many times against worthy opponents.
I disagree with you.

I think what tillman ment was as far as exposure on TV.
Meaning he should be more in the medias eyes and HBO, Showtime.
At least that's what I think he ment...

Well, he comfortably defeated the undefeated Jose Cotto. He dominated Fernando Angulo. He captured Julio Diaz's belt.
JD is NOT overrated. He is one of the best in that division.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Diaz has looked good every time I've seen him and he's willing to fight Ricky Hatton. I don't see anything not to like here especially against a guy who's lost five times.

You forgot to mention how he systematically beat down Acelino Frietas.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
One of the most consistant guys in boxing, really have to respect Juan.

A shot Acelino Frietas who clearly didnt want to fight.
-
Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Shot's not the right word for Freitas, at least not physically. He's not physically a shot fighter, his legs aren't gone, reflexes aren't gone, etc. Mentally he might be shot or "not want to fight" but he really always had a questionable mentality.

Yup, like a shot MAB vs in fight 3 and shot MAB in fight 2. I would have to say JMM in not shot but is also not the same

Hey, you can keep rubbin' it. I deserve it. Good call . I already gave you a good rep.
But I still believe JD was never overrated. He had a bad start and his Achilles heel got exposed by a better fighter.
No excuses.

Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Don King has to be pretty freaking happy now. I bet if Diaz did not fire King before the fight, he may have got a gift decision.
The Galaxy Warrior looked awesome.
-
Re: King and Juan Diaz part ways(FINALLY!)
Don King definitely knows his boxing. Diaz wanted to leave him so he found the guy with the style to put a crimp in his career.
