The fighters who are never in the games
Everytime these new games come out there are always errors and omitions but there are a couple fighters who either by choice or just by someone overlooking them are NEVER in these games.
Here's my list of fighters that should be in more games:
Mike Tyson - last I heard he was broke....why don't you get in the game pal? You're still the most recognized American boxer (recent boxer...Ali is still recognized the easiest)
Gerald McClellan - sure he is not of the right mind to make decisions for himself but anyone who cared for him and had to pay for his medical upkeep or just to keep his family out of debt could have him in a game and make money from it.
Carlos Monzon
The Klitschko's
Wilfredo Benitez
Joe Louis
Larry Holmes
George Foreman
Donovan 'Razor' Rudduck
Riddick Bowe
Earnie Terrell
Earnie Shavers
Jimmy Young
Jimmy Ellis
Carmen Basilio
Gene Fullmer
Joey Maxim
Archie Moore
Joe Walcott
Ezzard Charles
Bob Foster
Dick Tiger
Joe Calzaghe
Nigel Benn
Chris Eubank
Prince Naseem
Henry Armstrong
Kid Gavilan
Pernell Whittaker
Kostya Tszyu
Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. & Jr.
Hector 'Macho' Camacho
Salvador Sanchez
Willie Pep
Beau Jack
How's that list? Please feel free to add anyone you can think of that you want to see in a game (past or present).

.
I noticed that too.
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Calzaghe and Holmes will be in Prizefighter
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Lyle, credit for mentioning the G man.
Nobody below featherweight, I hate that!!!
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Its rare you see a Heavyweight who isn't American in the game. With the current crop of Eastern Europeans in the P4P Heavy top ten, I'm surprised not a one has been snapped up.
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
i agree mate.I thought same thing ever since i bought and played on the FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 1,2,and3 series.I've always wondered why most of the well known fighters have'nt appeared in the games.Your list was spot on.There would be one addition to add...."ROCKY MARCIANO!"i hope you agree mate.:)

Re: The fighters who are never in the games
It does amaze me that JC Chavez is never in the games. Mayweather too.
I'd like a game with Kristian Mijares, Montiel etc.
Israel Vasquez and Rafa are essential!!!
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Pretty sure that Joe Louis and Larry Holmes were both in an early Knockout Kings.
There was a game out a few years back on a console that had Hagler and Hearn's in it - anyone remember the name? (Maybe Kings of the Ring).
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
On a related note, John Ruiz should never be in any game.

Well if he's not in the game then how can you beat the absolute crap out of him???
One of my favorite things to do for FNR3 was to make fighters I didn't like and then pit them against other created fighters like Prime George Foreman or Prime Mike Tyson.

Yeah I remeber he was wearing the black and white trunks and he was pretty good. But what I meant is whay would they put in the Super featherLightweight version and then ignore the Welter version?!!!

Ha Ha yeah I get ya.
I like to take the career fighter I use, (usually a welter/lightweight) and beat up heavyweight James Toney....
Some good family fun right theere!

Re: The fighters who are never in the games
I never seen Thomas Hearns in any of the boxing games on Ps1, Ps2 Ps3. He may of been in one of the early boxing games like on Sega or etc, but i can't remember that far back.

Tyson had his own boxing game.
So did Naseem.
Whitaker has been in one of the Knockout Kings
So has Julio Cesar Chavez
So has Hector Camacho
So has Archie Moore
So has Earnie Shavers
George Foreman had his own boxing game on the Sega i believe.
Joe Louis was in Knockout Kings
So was Larry Holmes

Yes Tyson's game sucked ass ...it had Audley Harrison AND Malik Scott in it!!!!
Naseem doesn't deserve to have his own game and I never knew he had one.
Foreman had his own boxing game in like 1994....time for him to make a comeback, in his prime hopefully!
All those other guys you listed were in ONE game at one time...they haven't been in games repeatedly and the games they were in are/were no good....Knockout Kings WAS good but you play it now and tell me what you think about it.
And owned? I believe I listed a few more boxers than the ones ICB mentioned

lighten up lyle boy..
I thought you made the post saying that the guys you posted haven't been in boxing games?

...I'll stick some negative rep up your ass
And then turn it sideways :o ..... bitch ;D
I did say they weren't in the games and most of them aren't but a few have been in games here and there but those guys deserve to be in the games especially the ones EVERYONE owns....a boxing game without a Prime George Foreman or Larry Holmes or Mike Tyson....those are top name heavyweights still to this day!

heh.. yeah yeah i know.. i thought your original post said that "these guys have never been in games" but then i read it again.
Tyson hasn't been in any of the Fight night games.. i assume some sort of legal issue?

Re: The fighters who are never in the games
I agree with Lyle here,
I feel that for the best boxing game to date to neglect the inclusion of some of the subjects best aprticipants is a joke.

Tommy Hearns was in HBO boxing for Super Nintendo. Great game. Had all middleweights in it.
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
I think any current boxer is stupid not to allow a game to use him for free. The games are played my many people who are not boxing fans, and if they are in the game they can become bigger names.
Below average fighers like Butterbean can become household names.
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
was it knockout kings butterbean was in?
Agree with the last post about boxers not wanting 2 be included in games
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Butterbean was in a few of the earlier Knockout Kings
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Well people know who The Bean is....and I imagine he was probably cheaper to get than most of the top heavyweights.
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
A lot of people don't like him and he better known for his lackluster loses than him beating, Foreman, Rudduck and a few others. Tommy Morrison will probably never make the cut because of his loss to Mercer, In which Mercer was handed his ass for the first four rounds before Morrison gased. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdE1d3mxYmM
Morrison was much better than some of the dickheads that made it in these titles.
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Tommy would be a great addition to any fight game
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
I never understood this either... Like, I heard they need to have them sign off on rights and shit but whats the deal? It's free friggin money? Like Ezzard was one of the best Lights of all time... I'd love to have him built in a game... Pep? Hells yeah! Monzon? Be taking people's heads off... Vitali and Wlad? Of course... Tyson needs to get on the ball! The Gman... They'd have to give him a killer instinct button!
Yeah, It makes me angry... They always have the same friggin guys and many of them are (for all intensive perposes) kind of boring... Like Floyd Paterson... Who's like, "I can't wait to get this game to take Paterson out for a spin!"
C'mon man!

Billy Conn
Sandy Saddler
Charlie Burley
Rocky Graziano

The problem with using a lot of the older fighters is that there pictures are all in black & white, so are pretty much impossible to do unless you're really sophisticated at altering colour on a old B&W image
-
Re: The fighters who are never in the games
Will probably have to make the cabs the old fashioned way then, otherwise find a damn good look alike. ;D
