Pacquaio 145? Only 3-4 pounds lighter than Floyd fights... can it happen?
Now that Pacquiao is weighs so much in these fighters, he is virtually the same weight as Mayweather when he fights, but Pacquaio is weighing that much after only 24 hours of hydration. Floyd is around that weight as well even though he fights at 147 he could step on the scale fightnight and virtually weigh the same as the night before. I think the size differential is not really there, and Pacquiao probably hits harder than Mayweather as a "130" pounder than Mayweather does at 147. IMO this would be a fair fight in terms of size.
Height: 1 1/2 inches for MAyweather
weight: The same considering Pacquaio wouldn't have to cut
arm lenght: 1 inch for Mayweather
I really don't see this being that unfair of a fight if you are talking about size. Oscar De La Hoya is way bigger than he was at 130, but Mayweather isn't really a true 147 pounder, or 140 pounder, perhaps his size still seems natural for somebody at 135, and thats where Pacquaio should be fighting at the very least.

Re: Pacquaio 145? Only 3-4 pounds lighter than Floyd fights... can it happen?
Honestly, I think this would be another version of the Ricky Hatton fight. He would be aggressive and give an honest effort, but in the end FM will crush him. They may make it for the money, though. He and Hatton seem like a real money maker as well.

Taeth, if Marquez gave Manny hell, Floyd will give Manny Hell and keep him there. I'm a Pacfan don't make this fight happen:eek:

Re: Pacquaio 145? Only 3-4 pounds lighter than Floyd fights... can it happen?
the weight cutting down to 130 is slowing pac down. I want to see him not have to make 130 first. maybe 135 will be the best weight for him, i don't think a fight with floyd is possible unless they just say the hec with it and do it for the money.

WOW, your come up fights would still give hell to Manny but realistic.
Honestly though I Now think that Manny has a bigger chance of beating Juan Diaz than Marquez in case a rubber match takes place.

Don't call me a psychic, but Arum already picked one on the 'come up' list I made above.
v. David Diaz on June 28th

Arum picked the weakest of the division I guess, but fair enough considering PAC started out at 107lbs.

Re: Pacquaio 145? Only 3-4 pounds lighter than Floyd fights... can it happen?
Hey Mayweather fought at a really low weight in the amateurs when he was around Pacquiao's pro debut age... Also Mayweather was boosted up to 130 when he went into the pros because they didn't want him to fight in the lower, less known, weight divisions. I don't see size being a factor for why this fight shouldn't happen because Pacquaio is pretty much the same size as Mayweather, and Mayweather doesn't use size anyways when he fights.

Re: Pacquaio 145? Only 3-4 pounds lighter than Floyd fights... can it happen?
Hey wait, this gives me an idea.
Cotto 147 and floyd is 147
Can that happen?
You floyd fans are just like him...always looking for the easy route.

Re: Pacquaio 145? Only 3-4 pounds lighter than Floyd fights... can it happen?
Manny against Floyd is extremely unlikely to ever happen.

You're absolutely right. A lot of people are fanatasizing that idea because PBF is #1 and Pac is #2 in Ring p4p status.

.....that being said, Mayweather Jr. might want to unify a division before he starts comparing himself to Ray Robinson.
I doubt this fight ever happens or comes close to happening but it would be the funniest shit in the world if a super featherweight came up and knocked Floyd the fuck out!

Re: Pacquaio 145? Only 3-4 pounds lighter than Floyd fights... can it happen?
Right when I saw Pacquiao at 145, I actually didn't think of Floyd, I thought of Hatton. Pacquiao could fight Hatton at 140. Pacquiao will be outsized because Hatton is the bigger man but Hatton's gonna start getting weaker now trying to come down from 300 Lbs. to make 140 each and every time. That should even it up.
Floyd should fight Cotto after ODLH.

Pac-Hatton catchweight @ 140 is very unlikely to happen too. I remember Ricky was struggling to make 140 a year ago.
But yea,... PBF-Cotto is the next must see fight this year.

This thread scares me. It scares me because I know somewhere, in some dark room, there are probably people trying to make this travesty happen.

I'd like to say no to this and to a 2nd fight with DLH. As good for boxing as Oscar is he's almost as bad.
