Pickering holds the super bantemweight title but west ham Matt Marsh who won his last fight in KO 1 but lost to derry matthews because this was not Matt's Weight. Matt's trainer though in the towel to end the fight ....
Anyways Matts gonna have a crack at the super bantemweight title in june againest eshame pickering .
Who will win , how , and why ?
Im going to be Biest and say Matt marsh cause i no him and think he has a chance .... but what do you think??
Don't know too much about Marsh.
Pickering is a decent boxer, with great resolve so Marsh will either have to box very well or put in a super human effort in order to grind him down.
Pickering for a big muscular fighter also benefits from the awkward Ingle style

If this was the Esham Pickering of 3 years ago, it would be Esham all the way. However, since making the decision to leaqve the Ingle stable and return to his hometown, Newark, and link up with Carl Greaves, Esham's not been the same fighter.
He has suffered a bad defeat, and although won the re-match, I personally think his career is unfortunately not going to reach the heights he was once at. Its nothing to do with Carl Greaves, Esham is not getting any younger and with his reliance on speed, counter-punching, I think his timing has slowed etc. I know Esham and Carl personally and used to train in the same gym - just giving my opinion.

Hi they Chantelle.Nice video of Marsh on your thread;).He has good around boxing skills and he utilized his combinations from the head,chin and body really good in the opening rounds mainly,as well as using the same good technique throughout the rest of the fight.I remember him fighting Derry Matthews not so long ago.He was always going to find it hard fighting with Derry Matthew due to the lack of height and experience.Mind you he done himself proud for taking on a fighter like Derry Matthews so early on in his pro career.I dont mean to ""DISH"" Marsh but would you agree that he seems to lack power in his punches?I mean he got in some top notch Uppercuts in the opening rounds,"while he was nice and fresh",and their seemed to be no effect to them.Obviousley you dont and cant always win a fight by K.O but to fight someone as good as Pickering then he'll struggle to win early.Nevertheless it should be a AWESOME fight and i'd like to see Marsh win and i hope he does.When is the fight??THANKS!:)
Hello Chantelle, I'm also biased cos Matt's my best mate so I think he will win. Not taking anything away from Pickering cos I know he's a tough boxer but Matt is relentless when he boxes. His opponants have to work twice as hard and I know how much he wants this title.

This should be a really good fight!I remember Esham fighting my local hero Hunter for the European title a couple of years back(2005).Pickering had Hunter down TWICE!Once in round 2 and again in round 3.But as soon as Esham recieved a cut near the eye he was on the back foot and that then Hunter fought back in great deternination and won after 12rounds.Great fight that was.Esham is always game.Im looking forward to this one.Should be a little slug fest!;D

Im not too sure if he was rushed!Hunter was the kind of fighter that would fight anyone at any time in due course.I think he maybe took the IBF title fight to Molitor at a good time really.I mean Hunter Cleared up the Brishish title up,then retained the EU belt a few times after taking off Esham so when he got the chance to fight for the IBF he made the right choice i think.He had the advantage of the IBF challenge due to him fighting on home ground at the Awesome BOURGH HALL in Hartlepool(his key venue for MATCHROOM fights).There was talks that Hunter never felt very well before the fight with Molitor on the 10th Nov 2006.Weather it was the weight issue that he had trouble with afterward through his Career i dont know!!But i remember seeing Hunter on the walk in of the fight and he looked ready for it.The atmosphere in the Hall was Awesome!I was about 10 metres from ring-side.I knew Molitor was a classy fight and i asure you he was from the first bell.Hunter went down twice.The second time he went down was his last for the fight.Mind you it was aquality shot from Molitor.Quote:

I can tell you for a fact that Hunter had Sick problems making weight.
But he and his camp felt a move upward wouldn't work for him, thats why he called it quits.
I just felt that during the Molitor fight he was completely outclassed and that if he had taken one or two fights with top ten guys he could have performd better.
However I can also understand that his camp said he couldn't make the weight anymore, so they'd just take their money fight and retire.
Weight problem was a factor i think too!When he eventually moved up to lightweight he seemed to tire out really quick even know some of his fights in the new division were only six round.You could tell just by watching!He had plenty of heart and desire and he is a really humble kind of guy!I wish him luck on the retirement.He brought us some top quality fights in town(Hartlepool).Quote:

Esham will despatch Marsh in good fashion.
Marsh seems a nice guy so i choose my words carefully.
Having grown up with Esham i know him inside out, for the last few years he's had serious probs outside the ring. These have now gone and even though it may still be too late to catch the Euro title back, a fighter like Marsh should present no problem for him.
Did you see the weigh in? go to sky they have the clip. Marsh looks petrified of Esham, Esham also looks in near perfect shape.
My final view is it will be a difficult night for Marsh.

I knew Marsh could do it!;).It's a shame that he lacked power in his over right hand.He kept on landed it on Pickering sweetly throughout the bout.Gee,i was close on winning £40-£50 on the bet i put on at the local bookmakers.I was hoping Marsh would finish off Pickering in the 10 round as well as the 11 too,but he could'nt.It was a shame to see Pickering lose the longdale belt after all of the action he has brought throughout the brish boxing scene!!He's been exciting to watch through the years.Pickering fought pretty good,but his left guard was open too much for a right hand to creep in.Congratulation to Marsh anyhow!!!

Great result for Matt and all his fans. Was a great fight to watch. Esham is a great fighter and has had a fantastic career and hopefully now Matt can start to gain the same achievements.
Yeah thought it was a good fight, fair play to marsh to be honest i thought pickering would beat him, pickering looked the slowest i've seen him, but fought a good fight.
