Unfortunately I'll be at a dr.'s appointment :-\ but hopefully I can manage to catch some. When Wednesday night fights start, that's great that's like a boxing overload to have it twice during the week before Saturday is awesome.
Yeah I like WNF's. I think Whitfield's got a heap of potential
Hey thanks everyone,
Thanks for remembering me!! I've been out enjoying Arizona in the evenings and working like a dog during the day, looks like I should be on more now that it's heating up outside. Anywho if I'm around Wed and not running TiVo I'll do a rbr.
I'll try and rep you guys back if I can get it right.
Yep I like WNF a lot. They are usually kinda thrown together though and not as good as FNF. BUT bein a total boxing junkie and hardcore fanatic, I will take what I can get. And havin pretty good boxing on Wendesdays AND Fridays is FUCKIN AWESOME! BEST TIME OF THE YEAR.
There's a chance I could be able to watch this...
What times are we talking?
I can't wait....wed, fri, sat this week.
Down Here it Indicates that It is 'Same-day tape".....Spoiler alerts beware :-X
I just remembered the one huge bad thing about WNF's..................Baseball on ESPN.Count on this to be preempted by a bit.If It goes to extra innings even worse.:mad:
Ha, and countless times of waiting out a blowout baseball game come back to me.
This is evidence of boxing heading back into the mainstream. Hopefully it will be a success
Real nice compact punching from Mark Davis.Little too much waiting. He gave Vasquez some belief in that last minute.
I like Teddy but I was hoping they would change up the announce team ??
This Mark Davis is good. Was in the same amateur stable as Aaron Williams. First time seeing him as a pro, impressed.
Yeah to much waiting but loving the body-head punching.
End of round 3, didn't think it would get there, thought it was done but Vazquez has some fight. Davis is looking very accurate, very fast for a guy who holds his gloves so high and close to his face.
Im not one to worry about throwing caution to the wind for the cameras but Davis needs to bring a steadied 2nd Gear.
Nice Jab KD....follow Up ?? Vasquez willing to ...whoaaa. Good scrap & good match up
Good performance but the thing with counter punchers is always the need for them to sometimes create their own openings and be first to the punch. So hopefully next time I see him he has a little bit more of a forward attack because not all fighters are going to play into a counter puncher's gameplan.
Looked good though, loved the body punching, the head punching and I always like a fighter who has nice short punches. No wildness, I like that. Also very accurate and explosive combos and aside from the jab, he had a pretty wide punch arsenal, made straights, uppercuts and hooks work for him.
Definitely one to look out for now that he's pro.
I think Guerrero should either jab and put the left hand behind that or lead with the right hook, the short kind he had in the second but instead is just walking this guy down, not opening him up. With that said, I doubt this makes it out of the 3rd.
For a while I didn't think the ref believed in TKOs.
Standing Eight ???
I like the standing eight, it helps keep fights from getting stopped early IMO. I think Vargas is game for an upset in the main event he lives up to his nickname "Chango", dude looks like he's part chimp. :shakin::pis2:
I have buu-koo respect for Bert Sugar.......But The pun-quips are a bit repetative
I had Leonard winning nip & tuck in that one vs. Hagler.:-X Thats one that demanded a rematch.
Gamesman ship by whitfields corner Haa. Lets stop the fight before it begins.
Great bodywork from Vargas, I think he edged out a pretty close opening round.
Not much punching from Whitfieldm seen him before but don't remember much, remember that he is tall but he's got to use that height, Vargas has all the energy in the early on.
Teddy almost did a "Jimmy The Greek" with mexican jumping bean s!!!
Vargas is tuff.I thought he won a title eleiminator.Maybe that bounce In Vargas can equalize Whitfields height.Nice size on Whitfield as mentioned prior....Use IT.
I've got two rounds for Vargas, he's doing a lot of moving and not letting Whitfield find his range, don't think he's landed the right hand yet. Whitfield should put punches together or just stay on with the jab.
Good third but I gave it to Whitfield for landing one real good right, best punch in that round. Vargas missed a lil.
Whitfield looks a lot better with this guy at the end of his punches, now he needs to stop moving straight backwards because Vargas will chase him down.
Vargas closing the distance.Vargas is solid with combo end of 4th.When whitfield uses Jab Its fast and repetative...nice
When the hell is A. Peterson going to break out..?? and get big fight. Nice guy
