Filipino WBO bantamweight defending champion Gerry Penalosa floors Thai challenger Ratanachai Sor Vorapin last April 6 in Manila.
Penalosa said he wanted to fight Daniel Ponce De Leon or Israel Vazquez.
Vazquez mentioned that if there's good money he could fight Penalosa.
With De Leon busy preparing for Juan Manuel Lopez, why not bring on Penalosa-Vazquez fight.
Any thoughts on this match-up?

Vazquez would be too much for Gerry IMO...The pace Israel would start off at would be the downfall from the start...Gerry does have KO power but not happeneing early and I am not sure he could with stand an onslaught in this point of his career...Though to his credit Gerry has never been stopped so it might be interesting to see this one play out...
Gerry is a master in evading, slipping or blocking punches. If he can do these things on Izzy, he has a chance to score on counters.Quote:

I was just coming in here to post this. That's the fight I'd most like to see Penalosa take next, especially considering (according to boxrec) that Gonzalez was leading on two of the three cards. The third judge had it a draw at the point of the stoppage.Quote:

From a business point of view Vasquez want's money right now.
After the 3 fights he's been through the last thing he needs is a smaller pay day compared to what he got for any of the 3 fights.
I'm afraid Gerry doesn't bring that.
If you think about it Arce vs. Izzy makes more $en$e. ;)
Arce already headlines his own PPVs.
