Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
If Forbes wins then there will be NO REASON for "The World Awaits 2"
Because you can bet your rear that if Oscar beats Forbes. That he is going to face Mayweather again.
And I am almost 100 percent sure he'll win that match.
Lets look at it...
Mayweather and Oscar are "worst enemies" for the first fight.
The second fight Oscar is promoting him..
what?????
And now they are supposed to be enemies again? Please
They both aren't stupid and they both love money. And the money that would be generated by the three fights by just the casual boxing fan alone is enough for them to retire off of and then some!
So if Forbes loses..
be prepared for "The world awaits 2 and the world awaits final chapter" 2nd and 3rd fights between Mayweather and Oscar in which they will BOTH retire for good after.
You want to see Mayweather vs Cotto? Then you either boycott "The World awaits 2" or pray that Forbes somehow someway beats Oscar.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I would root for forbes anyway, oscar fighting this guy is riddiculous and floyd fighting him again is even worse.
-
Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I would love it if he landed the kidney punch against ODH because that is the only way he will win. Judges bought already.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I am in agreement with Mar...I am rooting for Forbes regardless....DLH has no shame.....Why not just ask Vargas to come out of retirement and bill the fight what it is....

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
Give me a break, half this board was screaming for Mayweather-ODLH 2 after hte first fight happened, what happened? Did they end up watching the replay?

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I ain't rooting for Forbes. I hope Oscar knocks his ass out.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I still don't understand why the 2nd guy, after Castillo I, to give Floyd the biggest challenge to a questionable SPLIT decision gets all this shit for a rematch and still people rather see a fighter (Cotto) who has shown all kinds of flaws to face him instead:confused:. ODLH is past his prime and still gave Floyd his biggest challenge. Other guys who are supposed to be in their prime keep showing flaws in every fight or have been rocked by bunch of journeymen and big names already.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
im rooting for Forbes regardless ODLH is the biggest Whore in boxing whoever is having there 15 minutes of fame he is all over there d**k made me sick the way he was so far up Hattons ass he put homosexuals to shame (no offense ment).

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I think its a huge shame. Oscar in his prime fought the best guys available and earned my respect big time. Why he is chasing $$$$ when he is alredy minted just pisses me off.
He is ruining a great legacy.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I'm rooting for Forbes because I can't stand Oscar. I disagree though,I stilll don't think a Floyd Cotto fight would happen this year because even if Oscar lost,I still think they would make the rematch. No lie. They know there are people out there that are dumb enough to buy it no matter how Oscar looks.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
Everyone is hoping for the spoilers.
I will be rooting for Stevie :)

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
It would only backfire, Forbes would then be proclaimed the second coming of Jesus, and HE would get the PBF fight not Cotto.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
i bumped into forbes recently and he appears not to be training hard for the oscar fight believe it or not.
steve looked a bit heavy too.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
That's a damn shame if he's not training hard for the fight. I still hope he wins though. I'll be boycotting Oscar Floyd II if it happens. That fight was garbage.
Cotto deserve's a chance because he's undefeated. He has flaws like every fighter but has maintained that zero in tact. Oscar keeps losing fights but he's still a winner in terms of paydays. Give the newer guys a chance at greatest and a big payday Oscar. He had his chance and he choked.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
I'm just glad there's no Ricky hatton mentioned in fights vs De la Hoya and Mayweather.
Ricky should stick to 140 because he's good there and there are plenty of fights for him there.

Unfortunately a DLH rematch will be happening in September but don't worry, Floyd's next fight is guaranteed to be Cotto. You know how I know? Because it's guaranteed that after Floyd beats Oscar again, Larry Merchant will grill him about Cotto so hard in the post fight interview that he'll be forced to fight him. Wouldn't be surprised if Ole L.M. called him a pu$$y to his face just to make sure it a done deal:)

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
tbh i aint even gonna mention a PBF v Cotto match just yet especially since he might be fighting Tony next and if the Tony that showed up on Saturday night shows against Cotto then u can forget PBF v Cotto.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
The title of this thread should really be "Root for forbes if you want to see Mayweather vs Cotto in 2008."
Oscar is just delaying a Floyd-Cotto fight until 2009, he's not completely preventing it. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing a Forbes upset win at all.
-
Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
If Forbes actually wins the fight then I'd say that the fight in September will end up being ODLH vs Hatton at Wembley. Mayweather will be left out in the cold and I think that he'd probably still hold off on the Cotto fight until 2009. He'd most likely fight Mosley.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
i want to see forbes win although i do think mayweather will fight cotto

I think your scenario here has some validity. But if Oscar loses to Forbes, I would sure hope that Oscar would take that as a sign that he needs to hang up the gloves for good.

Re: Root for forbes if you EVER want to see Mayweather vs Cotto
Anyone else notice that Oscar is on the of the new Ring mag? How'd that happen?
When was the last time there was a good media conference crashing by a ducked fighter?
