~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Miguel cotto 31-0 (25) the former WBO Jr. Welterweight and current WBA welterweight champion won the vacant title in impressive fashion with a 5th round stoppage over the current WBO welterweight champion Carlos quintana in December of 06'.This will be his 4th defense and he is coming off arguably his most Impressive victory with a 12 round decision over multi time champion and future hall of famer shane Mosley where he showed marked Improvement with more boxing and patience combined with his proven wide array of punches and determination.
While many consider this a "stay busy" low risk, high reward exposure fight as he awaits a possible mega fight with tonights fellow winner or a showdown with the wwe's and widely regarded p4p top champion Floyd Mayweather, his Challenger gomez is looking to turn the boxing world on it's head in the under dog roll.
Alfonso Gomez 18-3-2 (8) comes in looking to throw a wrench into the gears of the welterweight Division.Gomez is riding high off the international exposure he has received from his appearance on the recently canceled "Contender" series wher he came up short, splitting two bouts with eter Manfredo Jr. His 2nd to last fight was his arrival onto the scene on July 07 when he squared off against the human high light reel and 2 time champion Arturo :Thunder" gatti.while Gatti's best days were clearly past him ,Many had wondered if Gomez could hang with even that version of the undeniable warrior in Gatti. It became obvious from the outset that Gomez be far more than just a "Gimme" fight. He pummeled Arturo at will and with seeming ease as he absorbed the best shots Gatti could manage...ending matters with a picture perfect straight right hand,Sending The former former champ into a face first and definitive retirement.most recently in December of 07 Gomez has taken a 10 round victory over the perennial battler Ben Tackie.
Antonio Margarito 34 -5 (24) Vs. Kermit Cintron 29-1 (27)
For Cintrons IBF Welterweight title.Short and sweet here as I should attempt some 'non biased' Assessment. Its tough.A great Rematch to an April 05' match up that saw the then WBO welter champion Margarito making his 5th defense.Margarito overwhelmed the Undefeated power puncher Cintron over 5 rounds and ended matters decisively.Cintron has re-tooled and honed his skills..cough,Added some experienceto his corner and is looking for redemption.
I dont claim to be a body Beautiful when it comes to RBR's,everyone has a certain style and as the coronas go...so goes the keyboard ;D.Important thing is to have a blow by blow for all to contribute and get information to members who are not able to see the fights for themselves.
Good fight right about now

-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
What a fucking awesome first round. Cintron outboxed him for most of that round and Margo took some hard shots. His face looks a little red already! Great left caught Tony flush on the chin and he took it. Margo ends the round well but not enough to win it.
10-9 Kermit.

Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
round 2
letterman gave 1 to cintron-jabbing fron cintron to open-cintron timing better and putting 1-2 together-pawing from tony, upper miss from cintron-tony backs him to ropesbig upper lands from tony-cintron looks a litle ...confused-good body dig from tony-tony is working all out-solid body exchange by both-laying on the inside-tony is assaulting that body big time round tony.....ref in corner warns tony about low blow-warns cintron about his head
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Tony came back in that round. He moved in close and hit Cintron with some hard shots. The body shots are working, and that right upper cut just couldn't miss.
Round to Tony. 19-19 for me.
Tony has an injury over his left eye apparently.
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Lol, Cintron already looking dazed and confused. He better keep that range or it will be over in 3 or 4. Got that quitter look about him. Tony respects that right hand of Cintron though, to be sure.
-

round 3
Small nick on tonys eye-cintron fighting tall right now at start-solid rt to body by cintron-biig 1-2 by cintron-upper lands from cintron-headclash-tony not so effective as he bores in-nice 6 inch left clip from tony to head-cintron uses shoulder block well, pushes tony back-body shot bends cintron over, cintron complains to ref-i believe thet body is feeling it-tough round imo for me-thur 3 round punch stst 132 landed for tony-82 for cintron
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Tony's round again for me. Cintron isn't throwing enough. He's using his shoulder to try and move Margo back to find his range and is trying to get his jab going. Margo just stalked him down and worked better in close. Great body shots again from Tony. His round for me although I'm not sure there is a point socring it. Something has gotta give.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
I guess Spicoli' isn't doing his RBR, so I'll pick it up:rolleyes:
2 rounds to 1 for Tony. Cintron complaining about punches behind the head, but he's the dude turning his head into them. Tony will break this guy.

Round 4: Tony working all around Cintron's body. Cintron basically doing nothing, as usual he's starting to panic. Tony is dicatating the fight. Cintron is starting to fold up, bending at the knees and turning away. Round to Tony
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~

Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Looks a great fight, I've got the volume on mute as I'm watching the Tarver fight but it looks like a war
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
I can't see Cintron surviving. He looks disheartened already. Margo is walking through him.
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Good stuff Spicoli, Tony taking over this shit....
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~

-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
I get the feeling Margo will win by KO in the 5 or 6
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
I reckon Tony will do him here in the 5th
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
He looks a beaten man, Tony looks like a monster.
Cintron is quitting in a couple rounds, he's already looking for a way out
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Round 5: Tony starts out slow every round, big right hand by Cintron. Big right hand by Tony..They trade in the middle, another right hand by Tony. Tony now getting back inside, typical as of each round. Big combination by Tony. Tony keeps smothering that body, another big left by Tony. Another combination by Tony. There he goes...quitting AGAIN. This Cintron is a joke, he should get points taken away for bending over all of the time.Another big combination by Tony..a big left and now a right. Cintron is bending over so low he could be sucking Tony's dick. Round to Tony.
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
round 5
Again cintron starts with jab-left from tony-cintron clips tony ,open up at long range well and lands but tony comes in-double lefts hooks from tony-1-2 from tony....cintrons mouth open-ohhh cintron is about to no mas..almost-cintron cut and walks away-ref warns tony for hitting in back of head-long overhand right from tony lands at bell.regardless- Doctor in corner ask cintron if he wants to continue-
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Margo is throwing some amazing combinations here. The volume of punches being thrown is clearly getting to Cintron. He is cut over the right eye now and despite hitting some cracking right hands in the beginning of that round (5), he got cut and hurt in that round. He has been complaining about rabbit punches and it comes across like he is looking for a DQ saviour as I've not seen too much in terms of that.
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
moment of truth for kermit again, will he be a pussy or will he man up to the only guy to beat him so far.
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Round 6: Why Tony starts out slow and sits outside Cintron, I don't know. Cintron working the jab alot. Tony standing out and not using his jab, like he's waiting for an opening. Tony is waiting to long to get inside to Cintron, now he's worked his way in. Cintron QUIT like a CUR.....crying again...somebody get him a kleenex.
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Hehe Tony dominated that fight.
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Damn missed the ko cos I was watching the Tarver fight:-\
-
Re: ~Spicolis Rd. by Rd. of Margarito vs.Cintron II & Cotto vs.Gomez~
Margo stops him with a body shot in 6. Cintron doesn't beat the ten count. We have a new IBF champion.
