I can't help but think Forbes could ruin Mayweather vs De La Hoya 2
But isn't that what makes a shock defeat????
Because Steve is slick and unless he get Ko'd he has a good workrate something that fades with Oscar.
Tyson, I take it you haven't tooken your medication for the day... :-\
Lets not forget Oscar really got beat by Felix Sturm judges saved him strange things can happen in this sport thats what makes it so good and their are upsets.
Sturm is a natural Middleweight ODLH wasn't and he was poorly conditioned for that fight, and secondly ODLH's power didn't bother Sturm because Sturm is naturally much bigger. Plus Sturm's jab was a big factor in the fight, all these things i just mentioned don't apply to a blown up Super Featherweight aka Steve Forbes.
As i say the sport for upsets
I dont think its impossible for him to outwork odlh. I give him a decent change if Oscar has a real off day or gets old. Forbes has never been stopped too so thats on his side.
ODLH will have a field day with Forbes.
Despite a lot criticism DLH gets on this forum he is still a cut above the likes of Steve Forbes and he will carry him a few rounds before pounding him by the 6th round! As much as Mayorga made DLH look good, Forbes will make him look like time has stopped and it's 1999 all over again!
Do I WANT a shock win from Forbes? Yes!!! Do I THINK it will be a shock win from Forbes? NO!
I've said that a bunch of times before, but I think it was relative in this thread.
Remember Cotto vs Gomez? Similar to that is what we'll see...
I don't feel a win from Forbes, but it would definitely be a shock if he did win!
Well my feeling with these fights like this, it always feels weird when absolutely no one talks about the challenger. Then it makes you think that the fighter isn't really thinking about the challenger. The challenger takes advantage of the champ overlooking him, has the fight of his life and pulls off a huge upset.
The problem here is that, Oscar De La Hoya knows what is at stake here. He isn't going to slip up like that.
And if he did, that ring I guarantee you will be 16 feet, it'll be about as big as a liter box so no chance for Stevie to outmove him and try to Cory Spinks a win away from De La Hoya.
Just to many odds stacked up against him here.
Don't see Forbes giving ODLH trouble in most areas. If he tries to outwork him he'll just get hit with power shots. Forbes doesn't bring what Sturm did.
no way
Well it has been the year of the upsets... But I don't think this will be one of them.
I haven't been thinking about it. My problem is how to predict correctly how ODLH will win this one. I'm thinking more of an early KO.:cool::cool:
I'm rooting for Forbes but realistically,he has little to no chance of winning...that's why he was picked by Oscar ;)
I'd say Forbes has zero chance. Even if he did, I'm sure the powers that be would pull a DLH-Sturm.
Think about it for a second. Is Forbes gonna get a stoppage, obviously not.
Does anybody really think he has a chance in hell to get a decision if the fight's even remotely close? From Oscar de la Hoya? ;D On the eve of a second Mayweather fight with bank vaults full of money at stake? ;D
Forbes would have to nearly dominate Oscar for 12 rounds to win. I mean a 9-3 type of decision at the very least. The chances of that happening are pretty much slim and none.
I'm so sure of this I'd put like 4 dollars on ODLH. Sorry I'm kind of broke for the next few weeks.
I hope Forbes does win...Would serev DLH right...In fact I would send him a postcard that said....
HA! HA!
Is this fight at Welterweight or Light middle?????
