Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Juan Urango is fighting battle tested Carlos Wilfredo Vilches.
I can see why Urango's handlers would like to try him out against Vilches.
Vilches was battered around by Hatton losing a 12 round UD and has been sparked out by Emanual Augustus, Joel Julio, and Sharmba Mitchell.
David Estrada is fighting power punching Alexander Pacheco Quiroz on the undercard.
Joe Greene takes on Joshua Okine in a middleweight bout.
Honestly this is not a bad lineup for a wednesday night fight, not to thrilled about the Urango fight, but the rest of the card should be good. I just hope the isn't an extended baseball game tonight.

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I lke the joe green kid, wish he wasn't fighting some last min replacement though...
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Vilches is battle tested alright, unfortunately he's failed most of those tests. Urango is a pretty big puncher at lww. I'm looking for a k.o. in that one. Some good prospects being shown , I'm hoping they show Wilmer Vasquez. He's a young heavyweight prospect.

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I second Amats Happiness.....take the Baseball and Put it away;D;D
Nice matches.....poor Estrada just can not get an easy go lol.I have a way to go before I can see Green competeing in the top tier but is steady improving. Its not out of the imagination to see Vilches possibly giving Urango problems....for a little bit anyway:-X
8 minutes...ring the bell;D

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Green has to be one of the most stocky Middles in a while...Heeyy,Fred steinweinder(?),I like the ref.Okine no bum for last minute sub
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Do Greene's hands look a bit slow tonight? Seems to me they are.

Just a bit...He had a great 5 punch combo at about the 1 minute mark in the 1st.Hes flirting with some bad stuff here
I got the name wrong on ref :pFrank Santore....I like him but was that a bit quick with the point deduction.missed the blow
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I like Greene though, like the combinations and I like when he punches with that straight left, very good left hand.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Wide and waiting a bit as well,Okine is too long to try to out jab at this point straight away...needs to step to side imo. They better match him smart as he goes
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Heh, I snuck out of work early, I was almost hoping for a little baseball to delay WNF today, but f it I only missed about 15 mins... Greene is cautioned in second for seconf low blow and deducted a point...makes it a little more interesting. Okine is no walk over. He's from Accra Ghana so he should be a tough cookie.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I like Greene picking off Okine when he comes forward, very nice stuff. Creating openings with the jab and then pulling back beautifully.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Where is this at?....They have a solid Crowd.Greenes size might work against him as he goes, but he is showing good versatility a bit
Hornets going 3-0 baby;D;D
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
It's in Florida I think, this is a good match up for Greene he should get some good work out of this, I think its going 10. Greene is showing more boxing this fight, he ususally just throws toe to toe, he's showing some versatilty fighting off the backfoot.

Judging from the signs I imagine it's at the Seminole Hard Rock in Florida which is where Warriors Boxing does a lot of shows. And come to think of it Urango is a Warriors boxing fighter so that's my bet.

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I know I must say this alot but, I really don't like the low left hand, yeah if your RJJ you can do that and I wont talk, but he's already starting to get hit by lefts from Okine....Greene isn't fast enough IMO to be doing that.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Hello to my boys!!! ;D
I'm a little late to the party, got stuck with some business.
Hope I didn't miss any good fight action.

Thanks for Locale..Amat also.Long left paying dividends.Greene needs to focus...ohhh stiff jab at 38 sec.;D

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Well, I didn't get to see much of the fight but it seemed like it was a pretty one sided fight.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I don't think that should have been stopped....but Greene looked good and was on the way to the UD. Okine had his senses IMO. He was more off balance on those knockdowns, the first was kind of a rabbit shot, but borderline.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Don't know if I've ever seen someone's body bend that way in a boxing match, that looked like he was unconscious halfway to the floor, weird.
Good performance, I know what you mean about the left hand low to do that you have to have quick feet which Green does but doesn't use them enough. He tends to get a bit flatfooted moving back.
Still, good back foot boxing and while he wings and chops with his shots a bit he still throws his punches well for the most part. Some bad habits but still one to look out for.

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Hey Diane. How ya been? Think you just caught the culmination of action....nice finish but MAN Green is so wide-up at times.Should be fun to watch.
Ohhhh,Walkout Heavyweights next.....;D;D Guess were not seeing Estrada fight
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Not really this Wilmer Vasquez is a hot prospect, looking for a good showing here. Heard Vasquez has sick power. We'll see..... If Urango gets a early k.o. we might see him, very possible, Urango has pop.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I've heard of Vazquez before and wow, he has some fast hands for a big guy. Seriously, how many people that big throw combinations that fast? Heavy punches too.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
I saw Vilches v Emmanuel Augustus on youtube. He looked to be a good boxer with decent quick jab. He was winning by 3rds on 2 scorecards when the doctor stopped it on a cut that was not even a bad one. This seemed a bad stoppage to me and Vilches was not happy as he only had 1.5 rounds to go.

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Damn Vasquez needs to lay of the beer!! That guys has quite a gut on him for a fighter. :sumo:
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Damn it's about time that fight got stopped!
That was a total mismatch!
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Impressive from Vazquez and how the hell did Wallace keep up?
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Nice to see a new heavyweight, I really hope this guy pans out. Technically, not the best but at heavyweight what you really need is power, and he's got it.
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
Respect to Wallace....he could have fallen over and no one would have thought any thing of it.
Haaaa.Look at the prop the Hammer Lol.Vasquez has a chip on his shoulder and a waddle in his swagger.Savage burst's when he applies them.
Teddy berating Moorer....classic moment.Remember when He took out the phone ;D

They picked this Rodney Wallace guy for a reason, even though he was 4-0 with 4 kos. His last bout in No 2007 was a no contest with journeyman Maurice Harris 20-14 (10kos) and Wallce was ko'd in the 4th rd. However apparently Harris misrepresented himself to get the fight and it was declared a no contest.

Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
When is Urango fight on ? I think this may go past 8rds ?
-
Re: Juan Urango tonight on WNF
That fight still pisses me off.The 2nd round was scored 10-10 by all judges even with the KD.Majority Dec. by one point to Moorer otherwise a draw.Moorer had some great hand speed man.God that brings it back ;D
