After reading the article by fightnews.com it seems sam peter wants to fight Shannon Briggs!
my thoughts.....why would sam send his people to the judah camp to get his attention, and is peter trying to fight an easy opponent?
it was reported that they almost got into a brawl?? wouldn't that be zab judah's third strike assuming he was involved even tho it was outside of the ring
I think Peter would lay him out. But i do give Briggs a punchers chance

Peter's a tosser, and this incident proves it. Briggs a few years younger (when he actually was able to walk) he'd fucking batter him.
Briggs could well be likeable if it weren't for his asthma.
Considering the severity of his condition he should be give credit for erm...what he's achieved.
VD said he gave him a puncher's chance...Thats all that Briggs deserves in any fight really because if a fighter can drag him past six rounds at any pace, Brigs is in trouble.
He needs to get that finish early, although I acknowledge we have seen him pull it out of the bag late.
I think Peter wins it if he doesn't get stopped real early. But I just watched Briggs vs Lewis again on ESPN classic and Briggs gets a bad rap.
In light of knowing he has severe asthma, I think the guy has done great. He was getting tons of criticism for gassing, but damn he did good for having an asthma attack. You could see he was completely exhausted and had no wind at all. He still lasted 2 more rounds.
A none asthmatic Briggs puts a beating on Peter.
I actually want to see this, briggs suxks btw.

they both have a chance, briggs has always had a dodgy chin and sam peter show against jamell mccline that he has problems with big fighter and a posslbe dodgy chin to, i'd expect sam to win but wouldn't be suprisesd to see sam spaked out inside 5

I've seen enough Briggs fights for about 5 lifetimes.
Stupid fight for Peter. What if Briggs should pull of a miracle win? That is a stain that cannot be removed.
I agree with most of the posts on this thread, Peter should win but if Briggs could land something early it would be over.
I really wouldn't wanna see this fight though...

The way the heavyweight division is right now, I wouldn't be surprised if Briggs somehow won just to drag Peter into the heavyweight sludge pit of despair.
wouldnt it be a good match up since peter is pretty slow as well as briggs
Both of these guys has stamina problem. I just hope Briggs wouldn't use the asthma excuse again if he lose.

Briggs has a good chin. He's just got asthma and gets exhausted. Lennox never even really hurt him, and he landed huge shots. Briggs was just completely exhausted. Too weak to fight, not once was he wobbly or glazed in his eyes.Quote:

If Briggs comes in there 280 freaking pounds of muscle again then he is gonna gas and get beaten. But if he comes in at LEAST 240 we may have ourselves a fight.

Sure Shannon doesn't throw many punches anymore but he's big, he has the ability to punch hard (maybe not the desire), and he's got a good chin.
This is a very interesting matchup and I would love to watch it.....providing Shannon knows everyone is paying to see an actual FIGHT and not a sparring session.
