Re: Dream match ups for 2008
Pacquiao-Diaz in no longer a dream. It's a done deal already.

Re: Dream match ups for 2008
Mayweather vs Cotto
RJJr or Pavlik vs Calzaghe
Casamayor vs Campbell
N. Donaire vs Mijares
Linares vs Guerrero
Juan Diaz vs Katsidis
AJ Banal vs The winner of Darch-Kirilov
Haye vs Wlad.
Penalosa vs De Leon II
Re: Dream match ups for 2008
Woods v Johnson IV not because I want to see it, I just want to be consistent. :)
Re: Dream match ups for 2008
Are you talking about Juan Diaz for Pac? Because I have a hard time getting excited for a David Diaz fight and don't understand why anyone would, he's as mediocre as mediocre gets.
Some ones I hope for.
Mayweather - Cotto
Klitschko - Haye
Pavlik - Wright
Kessler - Taylor
Guerrero - Luevano
Hatton - Malignaggi
Nate Campbell - Anthony Peterson
Junior Witter - Lamont Peterson
Tavoris Cloud - Adrian Diaconu
Andre Ward - Allan Green
Arce - Darchinyan
Molitor - JM Lopez
I had a dream last night that Chris Byrd got KO'd at light heavy. I didn't see the fight just heard about it. I just remembered it just this second so figured I would post it. I can think of more but to be honest, this list is nothing compared to those I had going into other years. The people at the top have done a great job in making the fights the fans want. Cotto - Mayweather is the only real superfight on the table.

D Diaz will cause manny problems, for the record id happily watch JMM-Pac over and over again, that feud will never get boring.
Nobody mentioned kelly vs kessler yet??
Re: Dream match ups for 2008
Hatton v Jr Witter
Pacquaio v Nate Campbell
David Haye v Klitschko
Floyd v Cotto
De la hoya v Cotto instead of De la hoya v Floyd
Calzaghe v Tarver would be pretty good
and Khan against one of the top 4 lightweights
Re: Dream match ups for 2008
Hatton/Malinaggi
Taylor/Kessler or
Taylor/Andrade{gotta get through him IMO}
Taylor/Miranda
Pavlik/Kessler would be great or Joe Cal
Feliciano/Brain Surgeon
Nate Cambell/Casamayor
Juan Diaz/Katsidis
Would be fights I'd love to see.

i have a very warped sense of logic, by this fight taking place it increases the chances of pretty boy-cotto (the fight everybody wants) coming to fruition.
And whats with the endless beating up on european fighters, the guy is 34-0 and a world champion, im quite sure he`d be more than a match for oscar!!
Re: Dream match ups for 2008
If there was a magic wand I could wave to move Manny Pac to 147 while keeping all the things that make him awesome at 135 I would match him up with Mayrunner.

Im convinced manny will get found out once he moves up to 140, his style is just tailor made for 135 and lower. Roach keeps going on about hatton-pac happening some time in the near future.
If it is at Light welterweight id suspect hatton would end up winning with a late stoppage!!

lol, fair enough - i suspect many of this board will be in complete agreement with that.
I just think theres too many people instantly now looking past hatton because he is coming off a loss (regardless of the fact it was by the greatest P4P fighter of this generation in his absoloute prime)
Hattons agression and stamina is just too much for his opponents even at 140, pac would come up against something he has never come across before and i honestly think the endless body shots would prove too much for manny who would take a mandatory 8 count late on and eventually get pulled out by his corner.
Whats exciting is that i honestly see this fight happening at some point, pacs team see money to be made in fighting ricky, and once ricky has dealt with malinaggi and perhaps torres he`ll not have too many other avenues to go down.

lol! ;D Pacquiao-Hatton is a wack idea. It's just crazy. Let's not forget that Pac started at 106. He's gonna get himself killed fighting the naturally bigger guy.
Don't be fooled by these decieving stats folks...

In reality, hatton is really bigger and heavier than pacman in terms of body or bone structure.
It's a mismatch!;)

Nah in no way can we discount Hatton's wins over Castillo, regardless of whether people thought he was washed up or not, Costa Zu (LOL I know I destroyed that one but I dont know how to spell his name) whether or not people said he was washed up, or that other fighter cant remember his name, whether or not people said he was washed up...hey wait a minute I see a trend...haha much love to Ricky he gave it his best effort against PBF just got owned by a bigger stronger fighter

completely agree, manny is a multi weight world champion who has dominated his weight categorys for years now, but SF is surely the peak that someone with that kind of style and body structure can fight too.
pac doesnt need to go up to 140 to prove he is a true champ, as you have already alluded to though roach is a tad over ambitious with his fighters and i honestly believe at some stage late next year this fight will be in the pipeworks!!

And lets not forget a completely biased ref who would of been better off just sticking a dog leash on hatton.
Re: Dream match ups for 2008
Ranking them in my order of what I would find most entertaining.
1.Mayweather - Cotto ref- Smoger
2.Pavlik - Calzaghe ref- Smoger
3. Pacquiao - Hatton ref- Smoger
4. Miranda - Kessler ref- Smoger
5. Taylor - Calzaghe ref- Cortez
6. Pavlik - Abraham ref- Smoger
7. Klitschko - Haye ref - Cortez
8. Calzaghe - Miranda ref - Joe Nady
9. DLH - Mayweather 2 ( never hope its comes to this .....this will expose Mayweather for these actions. It will prove he only cares about money or he is scared to death of Cotto . Which I believe both to be true) ref - Joe Nady
10. Pavlik - Kessler. ( I would love to see a Pavlik Calzaghe first and foremost but this will do.) Smoger.
Anytime I see a Pavlik fight I want Steve Smoger. He lets the beating take place.
