The table is set for the red hot WBA cruiserweight title fight between world champion Firat Arslan (28-3-1, 18 KOs) and big-punching challenger "The Ding-A-Ling Man" Darnell Wilson (23-6-3, 20 KOs) at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart. Arslan will be making his first defense since dethroning Virgil Hill last November. The card will also feature an important collision between heavyweight contenders as unbeaten WBO #2 Alexander Dimitrenko (27-0, 17 KOs) takes on #7 rated Derric Rossy (18-1, 10 KOs). In addition, WIBF/GBU champion Alesia Graf (20-1, 8 KOs) faces Rosillette Dos Santos (10-2, 7 KOs) in a female junior bantamweight world title fight.

I know nothing of Arslan, havent seen him fight... But I give him and his camp major props for making this fight as his first title defence in Germany. Especially considering what I've heard of his style, Wilson will not be an easy fight for him. Darnell is a very dangerous puncher, and his last loss was not a big setback. I thought that fight was actually very close, Flores boxed better but Wilson clearly rattled him whenever he landed big, and that's with Flores trying to stay outside the whole time. With Arslan having a face first style this should be an excellent scrap. What are your thoughts on Arslan Johnny? Could he be an elite fighter? All I know is that he beat Virgil Hill recently. Don't even remember if he was able to stop him or not. Rep for the update.

if this goes pass the 9th round im guessing darnell loses
but yet again i have no idea who firat is, this could actually be a step up in recognition if he wins.
darnell comes to the match looking for the KO he comes in with no strategy except that hes going to swing and swing hopefully he doesnt miss....lol

Arslan says of himself that he doesn't have any talent...starting very late at age 18 with boxing...he did everything he achieved with hard work and an iron will and some 20 years later he is champion...Arslan isn't despite his style the most exciting fighter mainly because he lacks punching power...But he wears his opponents out...guard held high and punching on the inside he walks you down...I'm not a fan,but I respect Arslan...A win over Wilson would mean that Arslan is a worthy champ nothing more nothing less...

Arslans defense at head-level is very hard to crack...to the body he is pretty easy to hit,but Arslan claims that he never been hurt with a bodyshot and as heavily muscled as he is I believe him...

Sometimes a body that has super-low body fat is not necessarily a good thing for a boxer, because there is nothing to protect the muscles, particularly against someone like the ding-a-ling man, where you tend to feel every punch. If Firat doesn't move (he's not that agile if I recall correctly) it doesn't matter how tight his head defense is, Wilson will punch right through it.

I'm just guessing here, but i think flores showed everyone how to get pass wilson, but with this being arslan first defense at home and all he'll be more interested in giving a good show than trying to do everything he can to win. He'll get caught, and he'll loose. I really don't know much about the guy so i'm just giving a guess off of what most guys do. But i can't really give a fair pick since i don't know about arslan.

Darnell is the most ripped he's been recently. I had him beating Flores because I thought he took a few rounds with just hard shots that rocked Flores, even though Flores landed a little more. Arslan better not try to stand in front, heh let em this should be fun to watch, someone is going down.

No kidding man Wilson looked really tubby in his ast two fights, looks like he's getting up for this, should be exciting.

firat arslans a nice enough person, and a decent fighter........ but i don't really aggree with the wba title buisness, haye won the belt so no one else should be able to be called a champ, ok they annouced haye as super champ, therefore allowing others to fight for it................not right
fair play arslan he's the wba champ........ i think arslan might be able to pull something out the hat but don't see him lasting long

The tension is increasing three days before Saturday's world title fight between WBA cruiserweight champion Firat Arslan and Darnell "The Ding-A-Ling-Man" Wilson. It was learned today that Arslan will be without super-trainer Michael Timm for the fight. A serious case of the flu has forced Timm to leave Stuttgart and he is now recovering at home in bed. Universum trainer Valentin Silaghi will now have sole responsibility in the corner. Arslan and Silaghi worked together all through training camp in Sölden, Austria, so Firat still feels he is under the best care. During an foray through Stuttgart, Wilson, a.k.a. the "Ding-A-Ling-Man" visted the tower of the city hall. In front of the ringing Glockenspiel he explained his unusual nickname. "I hit you. I ring your bell. I knock you out!"

Darnell is always in entertaining fights, because you know at any moment the fight could change with one shot, thats why he's one of my favorite fighters to watch today. I'll still be a fan if he loses. He could get outboxed by alot of people and thats Arslans best option, movement, otherwise he's toast.

The tv station that showed Sauerland events streamed on their homepage the fights,but this is an Universum event on another tv station...I don't think they will stream it...If they do I will let you know...

I had no idea Dimitrenko was fighting Rossy....that SHOULD be a very onesided fight. I hope Rossy has improved because he's going to need to land fast and hard to beat Dimitrenko

Dimitrenko is nothing special I don't think. He is tall, bad footwork, long armed with not much straight punching and he slaps. Rossy can punch with power but was just outskilled by the very good and very accurate Eddie Chambers. I think he has a shot but that's because I don't think highly of Dimitrenko.
Arslan - Wilson looks like it has all the makings of a truly great fight.
