Is ODLH-Forbes a preparation for PAC-ODLH?
Oscar Dela Hoya has to make weight at 150 lbs. tomorrow for his fight with Steve Forbes this weekend. Is this a preparation for a possible showdown with Pacquiao at 147 down the road?
Forbes is a former super featherweight champ, PAC is a current super featherweight champ and will be jumping to lightweight in his next fight...
ODLH has PAC as a backup fight in case ODLH-PBF in September can't be made due to PBF's high demands...
ODLH has been fighting at 154 for a long time now and why is he sacrificing to fight at 150 against a relatively unknown boxer? Is Oscar preparing himself for a mega showdown with PAC?
.

Re: Is ODLH-Forbes a preparation for PAC-ODLH?
You mean in case PBF doesn't want to make another $20,000,000.00 (847,256,710.25 Phillippine Peso's)
I seriously doubt it.

If this is not a preparation for PAC-ODLH, is this a preparation for ODLH-Cotto?

DelaHypa should stick to promoting. He is tired.

ODLH needs a KO to boost his standing in boxing back up with the general public, that would be difficult against any of the people at 154.

What I mean is, Oscar is showing to PBF that he can make 147 and he has a lot of options besides PBF (PAC-ODLH, Cotto-ODLH or maybe Hatton-ODLH). This will prevent PBF from asking too much in their planned September rematch...

A KO against a small unknown boxer (Forbes) has no meaning at all...

PAC knows better than that.

This will/should not happen. This would be a meaningless "Name" event and have no relevancy what so ever.Credit to the Diva though.....at least he is doing his circus act promoting in the boxing ring with a former, albit stretched out, Former Champion. As opposed to a wrestling ring :p

If PAC will be successful against David Diaz, his possible next BIG fight will be:
1. Campbell at 135 - for the lightweight undisputed unification fight
2. Hatton at 140 - for PAC's 4th world title in 4 weight division (even if it's only the IBO belt). It is also for "3 titles in 3 weight division in 1 year" achievement.
3. DelaHoya at 147 - purely for the HUGE money
.

I agree ODLH-Forbes has no meaning at all to the boxing world... But for Oscar, why he has to sacrifice going down to 147 for this meaningless fight?

They say 155 to 160... The highest PAC weight inside the ring is 149 (or is it 145?) in his last fight against JMM...

High Reward........Low risk. This is like a giant Commercial for The Mayweather/DelaHypa build up.Gets us talking right?Oscar will be sitting at Jr.Middle when the bell rings.I hope the stars aline and hell freezes over and we see the "Afterthought" Forbes out hustle and pull off the upset. Not likely though.

By knocking out Forbes at 147, Dela Hoya showed he can KO PBF at 147 ?
Hope it's ODLH who will be KO'd this weekend... Payback for giving us this meaningless fight...

Now that i would of loved to see, back in the old days of RJJ fighting at 160, he could of dropped to 154, floyd could of ballooned much quicker than expected.......
oh who am i kidding :lickish::lickish::lickish:
For the record if pac ever decides to fight at 147 i like most boxing marks will completely disown the man as it would be for nothing more than to make a few extra mill to his already bulging bank account

Exactly, ODLH vs Forbes has as much meaning as Cotto vs Gomez, I agree. The only difference is that people hate ODLH so whatever he does is just unacceptable.
Pacstraight,
Wouldn't you want to see ODLH vs Pac?

At least Cotto was fighting a bigger guy... ODLH will be fighting a smaller guy...

Both not really being a nightmarish threat AT ALL. Why root for Cotto's desicion to take that fight but not ODLH?

Yes, next he'll be fighting Chris John:rolleyes:

Dela Hoya weigh in at 150 lbs. in his last 2 fights... Maybe he's ready to make 147 for a December Pacquiao fight.

Re: Is ODLH-Forbes a preparation for PAC-ODLH?
Indeed, fighting Soto is a lose-lose situation for Pac. Thanks to that link KKisser.
if he wins, he has nothing to be proud of. Soto has just been beaten by Guzman. If he loses, it will be a big drop on his ranking.
Let Pac vs ODLH happen if Hatton and Valero are not available!!!

This is going to be a massacre:eek:, I know they're gunning for the super mega bucks but this is outrageous. PAC is lucky if he makes it in the 12lth round, I hate PAC's handlers!!!:(

So pac fans really think he can beat ODLH at 47?

Do you think any RATIONAL fans of Pacquiao believe that PAC even have a shot at surviving against ODLH?
I for one is against a PAC-Hatton showdown:rolleyes:

Re: Is ODLH-Forbes a preparation for PAC-ODLH?
I just don't think they're feasable... I mean, I've been wrong about Pac before and he's proven to be a beast and fair play to him but at some point you peak... I think he has.

I just pray that this does not push through, PAC has no chance at all at survival at the most.

Yes, Pavlik. I know Pac will have a hard time against ODLH. It seems impossible actually but if Pac wins then he will be considered as one of the top all time greats aside from the money he will be earning.
Fighting Soto will not do him good. Better to fight Guzman than Soto and you all know the reason why.

In this fight I've already accepted the FACT that PAC will lose, I just pray that PAC does not get permanently damaged:eek:
