Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or has any real ghost or any other strange stories.
I've heard some supposedly real ghost stories, the most common being just-dead relatives visiting to bid goodbye. I think I read Andre saying something about seeing ghosts. I wonder if anyone here has their own real stories about ghosts. C'mon, don't be shy, share your stuff here if you have any - ghost, UFO or any other strange stories.

I saw Kelly Pavlik defeated Jermaine Taylor twice. ;D
Just kiddin'. No. I don't believe there's such thing. I believe in the holy spirit though.

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or have any real ghost stories.
had a friend who had an exorcism done on his house when he was living with his parents.
Never noticed anything though when I was there. Seemed a bit of an out there thing to do to be honest.

Did anything happen during the exorcism?

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or have any real ghost stories.
I haven't ever seen a ghost or anything but I have always been open to the idea of them. I've heard many stories but never had any real life experiences with any spirits or anything.
I've also wondered about UFO's and Aliens and that stuff as well.

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or have any real ghost stories.
I lived in a house that was a Kentucky monument or something of that sort. Anyways, we got flooded out and had to scramble quick for a house, ended up in this house is this backward ass town by Fort Campbell. It was a monstrous, truly breathtaking house built in the late 1800's that was what is known as a sharecropper's house. Never slaves in the house but there was a fairly big property and up the road there was what was formerly a tobacco field that the sharecropper's worked at. In the yard of the house were a bunch of old shacks that entire families would live in. Every once in a while we would find something in the yard that must have belonged to the families a hundred years prior. I always found that creepy but never saw any ghosts.
Inside the house was amazing, giant living room, huge spiral staircase, in the master bed room was a giant canopy bed that was supposedly Andrew Johnson's bed when he stayed in Kentucky and had been moved into the house when built and apparently built around. That led a lot of people in the town to think that the bed had been built around, and that Andrew Johnson's wife took particular fondness to it and demanded the house built around it. This of course was all false, Johnson died 20 years before the house was ever built. The bed was incredible though, had a giant canopy and was all solid wood. My parents were able to fit their bed in the frame and it turned out great.
But the people of the town, who were born on top of a nuclear wastefield I believe because that town, Lafayette, Kentucky is as backwards as you can get. They believed that the bed was visited at night by Johnson's wife and would always pester my family about the bed. It was quite weird. No ghosts though. The closest I can come was when I was in second grade watching America's Most Wanted on the bed and seeing this old lady murderer. She was quite old and scary looking and the house was so giant and spread out that it was like a Shakesperian stage, I could have been stabbed in the lower right corner and those in the room at the top left would not have heard. Well I pictured her just popping up in the window with the dark behind her like Freddy would. That was it.
Also from those days, every year in Elementary school we took a trip to the Jefferson Davis monument. Jefferson Davis was born in Christian County in Kentucky, which included Lafayette and the much more civilized town Hopkinsville which was where I went to school, but was more famous for leading the Confederacy as President during the Civil War.
Elementary school in the South is a lot about learning your town's history, lots of history in the South and most of the field trips we took were to places like downtown and to the monuments to find out how our town was a big deal at one time. So anyways, the monument while tasteless by my now refined California liberal standards, was pretty nice looking. It was located in the back half of a very grassy park over a lot of rolling hills, picnic benches, statues ect. It was very nice. You had to walk across this whole beautiful park before you get to the monument for the guy who fought to uphold slavery and while it's probably among the taller buildings in Kentucky, it managed to sneak up on you from behind a hill.
It's a very tall monument by Southern standards where the tallest things in every town is the water tower. It's a tall, gray, concrete needle shaped building much the same as the Washington Monument in DC. Now at this point, it was great as I had no idea who Jefferson Davis even was in 2nd grade, only knew he was born in my county. They didn't tell us that he was the guy who if his team had prevailed, half the kids in my class would be in shackles on our plantation. Not exactly someone worthy of having a monument but whatever, that's the South and a very proud region.
So in second grade, for whatever reason, we got to go inside and to the top. Why they ever allowed us to go inside is beyond me. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. First of all, the whole place is incredibly small, only a small elevator lift in the middle and a set of stairs that hugged the walls of the building. So there was basically the elevator in the middle and about 2 feet of clearance to either side before you hit the stairs, after the stairs the wall. It was as narrow as it looked. If you looked up, you could see a couple stories of floor above us outside the shaft but not many. I think it got more floors in the renovation they did.
The insides were concrete like the outside, which isn't as nice of a touch inside then it is out. I hope the Washington monument has some dry wall at least. Our elevator is like I said, a lift and the sides were only a fence material so we could see the concrete walls all the way to to the top. The top by the way was a cramped room with about a 2ftx2ft window with bars that you could see a fair distance out of. But the concrete walls we saw on the walls on the way up were FILLED with the worst things you could imagine. Very racist stuff on the walls, lots of N words and lots of nooses and things of that sort. I can't believe they let us in there to see all that. And I can't understand how a monument even contains that? Even my teacher told the elevator operator that she didn't think it was right they let us to the top and this was after most the class had gone up only a few people at a time.
No ghosts but definitely a bad energy unlike any I've ever felt in that monument.

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or have any real ghost stories.
I've heard a couple...
The most credible was one told to me by my brothers friend who was a police officer... All this had gone in the police report so to that extent, no one was bullshitting..
A family owned this small shop.. The mother was actually in hospital getting some minor operation done, and her son was looking after the shop during her short stay in the hospital.
Anyway, one night, the shop was being robbed about 1am in the morning, and the silent alarm had gone off and alerted the son who lived not to far away, and the police...
The son immediately rushed to the shop and saw the back door still open, so he went in to investigate.. He looked around a bit, but as he was entering one of the front rooms, his mobile rang... He answered, but the signal was fuzzy and he couldn't hear the person speaking, so he went out the back to get better reception.. It turned out it was his mother in hospital.. She had just gotten out of surgery and was telling him she was okay.. He didn't tell her about the robbery as he didn't want to worry her, so the phone call ended, and he waited out the front for the police..
Here is where it gets freaky... The police arrived, checked over the place,,, nothing was wrong or it appeared not much had been taken. So they took the security tapes and left... Upon watching the security tapes, the police saw that when the son had entered the shop, the robber was still in there.. He was hiding behind a door, holding a baseball bat in the air ready to hit the son.... The sons phone rang JUST as he was about to enter the room with the robber in, and having to go back out to get reception, had saved him from getting beaten, and the robber ran out and escaped out the back without being seen..
So PRETTY fucking lucky!!!!
Here is the freaky freak thing... Eventually they told the mother about it and said how lucky it was she called right at that moment or it could have been a lot worse.... The thing was, the mother had not made any phone call.. It would be absolutely impossible, because, she was actually in the middle of surgery at the time the phonecall was made.. As a part of the medical report, their was a complication, and her heart had actually stopped beating for a minute or so before they could bring her back around..
THAT, is one thing that is simply amazing to me, and definetly something that cannot explained in any normal way

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or have any real ghost stories.
No ghost stories from me, just a UFO one. I suddenly woke up at about 3 AM one morning and last time that happened someone was trying to break into my window, so anyways i walk to the window and look out. No ones there, but these lights in the sky catch my attention. These three balls of light about 3x times the size of a star flying round the sky. Its not like they were a plane or anything I had seen before, they would hover there for a bit then suddenly shoot upwards or horizontally at such acceleration that there no way it was a plane or anything like that. I wish I had a video camera, as it was amazing, now everytime im outside at night I always check the sky to hopefully see it again.

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or has any real ghost or any other strange stor
There have been times where I would turn my head, and for a split instant I'd see a light and then it would just vanish. It looked a lot like like coming in from windows, but it would be white, and it would give off no illumination. This happens every now and then.
Something else that has happened is sometimes I will hear what sounds like a loud pop from a hand clap, like someone clapping their hands together. Once it happened with me and several family member sitting in the living room, and we heard it, and someone asked who clapped their hands, but I was looking and I saw no one had done it. A couple of years later I was sitting at the computer home alone and heard the hand clap noise behind me... I never gave it any thought or anything...
There's also been times where I could hear someone calling my name... :-\

When I was in Okinawa, my dad worked for the US Army in one of the bases there and there was this well-known incident at that base, where the battle site called 'Item Pocket' is located, that supposedly happened several times. According to the story, the guards manning the guardpost there would sometime encounter a GI Joe in WWII outfit who seemed to come from nowhere and asked the guards, 'hey buddy, you got some lights?' After a guard lighted up the soldier's cigarette, he smiled wanly, thanked him, turned and walked away, and seemed to disappear in thin air. I've been to that base many times and always felt it to be an eeeeeeerie place.

Nope. It was just a single 'clap'. That was all. :dontknow:
But now that you mention it, there has been a time where a light bulb went out and came back on a few seconds later. It might have been a loose bulb... (on a seperate occasion from the clap sounds).

It makes sense that IF ghosts are real and somehow still connected to the place of their discontented death that old battlefields would be where to find them.

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or has any real ghost or any other strange stor
before my dad passed away.... 3 people saw the exact same thing... the image of a man in hat walk through our dining room. Also, my cousin saw a man as a clear as day in our basement. afer my dad passed, very little activity.
I've never see anything but one time, about 6 years later when I was 25 years old, was working in my wood shop in the basement late at night. I heard loud footsteps walk through the room above me. Thought nothing of it.. thought it was mom up for some reason. Then I went to bed and asked her what she was doing up. she said she hadn't been up in over an hour. Then, a couple months later I was watchng TV and heard soemthing come from the kitchen.... so vivid I was scared to move. A grown man... frozen stiff in fear. finally got up to look.. nothing there.

Re: Seriously, has anyone seen ghosts or has any real ghost or any other strange stor
It's probably trivial and nothing more than my imagination, but sometimes when I am out walking in the woods I hear footsteps that sound as if they are walking right beside me or just behind me. I always turn to look and see no one there. Everytime it happens I always remember how my mom and I used to take her dogs on these long walks through the woods; I always wonder if it's somehow her way of letting me know she is still with me in some capacity and that she still remembers the time we spent together. I hope it is, but it's probably just my imagination. The funny thing is, my Grandma, who also used to go for these walks with my mom on an almost daily basis, experiences exactly the same thing when she is out walking. When my Grandma and I are out walking together, which we do several times a week, we've both turned around at almost precisely the same time because we're hearing those same footsteps.

We had something like that several years back. When one of our neighbor died (poor guy was killed by the ex-boyfriend of a girl he was wooing), we heard footsteps outside our house several times for few nights. Our surroundings had just been laden with small gravels from nearby shores so the footsteps sounded very clear - you know what it sounds like when you walk on gravels, it sounded just like that.
Another one. When my dad died and everything was done with, me and my mom was staying at one of our rooms upstairs where we had a wide sliding-door window and behind it was branches and leaves of a tree planted outside. It was raining almost everyday and strangely there were bunch of hummingbirds visiting us, fluttering and chirping right there between the branches for several days. Their soothing chirps sort of cheered us up during those gloomy rainy days. What was strange was we'd never seen a hummingbird before and didn't even know there was hummingbirds here in the Philippines. It was as if my dad was comforting us, especially my mom, and telling us everything was all right.

Astral travelling or bilocating people could be classed as ghosts too. They can be seen by some people as well ;often mistaken for angels, ghosts or others.

It's strange you mentioned hummingbirds...
One of the last gifts my mom ever gave to my grandma was a hummingbird feeder. My grandma can't bear to put it up though, she says whenever she sees a hummingbird she thinks of my mom. However, there have been a few occasions when I am really down and thinking about my mom that I have noticed hummingbirds around me. At one point I was sitting on a hill in the park near my house, crying (might as well be honest), and I noticed a hummingbird a few feet away from me. As soon as I saw it, it launched itself into the air and started doing loops - it would fly up about 20 ft. in the air, dive downwards, and do these giant loops over and over again. It was such a rediculous sight that eventually I started laughing and even cheered up a little bit.
Again, I'm sure it's nothing but a coincidence, but it is interesting how people experience similiar things under these circumstances...

Ya, strange. Actually, I mentioned about the hummingbirds because I wanted to know if anyone else had the same kind of experience. I wasn't expecting that it would be you coz that would've been too much of a coincidence, but strange things do happen, I guess. I've heard about moths or butterflies being messengers for dead people but I've never heard about hummingbirds being one too so I just wanted to confirm it. All I can say now is that if we can find just one more person who has that kind of experience with hummingbirds, maybe there are ghosts afterall. I forgot to mention but what's more strange about these hummingbirds is that they came again on about two more ocassions - both on death anniversaries of my dad! That's why I wanted to share this story - I wanted to know if anyone else had that sort of experience, just to confirm. Now I'm much more convinced.

Yeah, I've seen them on more than a few occasions when I'm thinking about my mom. However, I think about her often, so it could all be a coincidence.

I just remembered, have you seen a tv program "Crossing Over" hosted by supposedly world famous psychic John Edward? If you haven't, this could be what you need. The tv show format goes something like this: there
are about 100 guest, ordinary folks though, in the studio audience and the host John Edwards walks by them and 'looks' for a spirit related to one of those in the audience and when he supposedly finds one, he supposedly talks to 'him or her' and ask the relative in the audience about the 'person' whom he describe in detail and what 'he' (spirit) has to say about them. And when the person or sometimes the full family in the audience confirm the 'authenticity' of what the spirit of their relative says, usually an immediate member of the family, Edward invites them to the stage for further dialogue among the three of them - the spirit, the medium (Edward), and the guest(s) from the audience. During the dialogue, you'll hear from Edward who claims to speak to the spirit about supposedly some secrets only the spirit and his/her relative guests are supposed to know. You'll see their utter amazement at the messages Edward is supposed to covey to them, where sometimes the guests get really emotional and go into tears...
I've always watched that show with amazement, while thinking if it was real or if they were putting me on. I could be naive but I didn't see any reason to doubt him as he, and the program itself, looked credible. But again I could be a naive fool. One time, they even invited a celebrity guest, though I forgot who she was, who went through more or less the same process - her confirming that the spirit is that of one of her family member and that what the spirit says is true on most part... Well anyway, no matter what, the issue here is whether he is real or fake and whether the picked guests from the audience were planted or not, though again, innocent me didn't find any reason to doubt. But rather than listen to my lousy discription of the program, you should try to get the video of the program and see for yourself. I myself was always totally amazed. But again I might be a bit naive. In the meantime, you can try to find some of his shows on the youtube, just type 'john edward cross over' on the youtube search bar and maybe you can find some . But one warning though, try to avoid those info's trying to expose him or destroy his credibility, especially anything from skeptic.com at least until you've watched all the episodes because I don't want you to be clouded with doubt when you watch the show- there are always skeptics in any field and you just can't avoid that; it's just part of life. And if you've watched all the episodes, then, and only then, you should read those skeptics stuffs if you must, though I wouldn't encourage you to because anyone can find faults about anything if he wants. I'd rather you decide for yourself than let others try to convince you otherwise.
Here's one sample info of the show:

But one warning though, try to avoid those info's trying to
expose him or destroy his credibility, especially anything from skeptic.com
at least until you've watched all the episodes because I don't want you to be clouded with doubt when you watch the show- there are always skeptics in any field and you just can't avoid that; it's just part of life. And if you've watched all the episodes, then, and only then, you should read those skeptics stuffs if you must, though I wouldn't encourage you to because anyone can find faults about anything if he wants. I'd rather you decide for yourself than let others try to convince you otherwise.
Here's one sample info of the show:

I've seen him before and honestly I am very skeptical about mediums and things like that. There is one medium in Canada who does some of his readings over the phone, I would be more inclined to believe someone who did it without seeing me and being able to read my body-language etc.

Yeah exactly, he's more than likely very skilled at cold reading, they did this on an episode of southpark. People also tend to believe things that they want to be real. Like knowing your parents are happy and still around, giving you comfort that there is an afterlife.

I like to watch Physic detectives ,the real life docu ones.
One lady led the cops right to a door and said "he goes through this door I've seen him."
Sure enough out of a whole large city ,that was the murderers place.
Another one found a body in about a 20 sq mile of bush and scrub ,right down to the surrounds and what color he was wearing.Turned out he had a heart attack and fell off a pathway .SHe picked that he was dead already and that it wasnt a homocide.

Yeah I love those shows as well, I think to some extent all of us have some ability like that, just not nearly as pronounce. Like when we have deja vu, I know I've had some really boring dreams (like could actually happen in real life) and then weeks of months later I'll have the feeling that this has happened before. And the thing about those is that they aren't gaining any benefit for themselves by doing it, unlike those show hosts which get big deals, they are doing it to genuinely help people.

Ya, but for me, the only way he could be fake is if those 'guests' of his are planted and conniving with him. It's almost impossible for him to know some intimate secrets which only the guest and the spirit are supposed to know, and he does supposedly reveal them often in his show, which is simply impossible if the guests are not conniving with him. You can try it yourselves and invent a story of supposed secret knowledge try it on some friends; I won't be surprised nobody knows what you are talking about even when you get 100 friends, maybe the 101st friend might say,'ya, that's right, how did you know!' if you're lucky. Many people have tried to discredit him but I'll only believe them if they can copy exactly what he does in a way they say he does. Otherwise, their opinion don't mean much for me. But of course, the possibility of connivance and fraud are always there. Anything can happen in the entertainment industry, including, as you all know, in boxing. So we can't be naive about that.

Yup, I've read about some of them on Reader's Digest and they even get citations from the police department itself. I wonder why scientists deny their existence.

I just came upon John Edward's interview (the full transcript) with Larry King on CNN. It's a real long interview and you can get almost complete info on him, his short bio, critics and their accusations, and even live 'readings' thru phone right there at the studio! Very interesting. I'd say I'm impressed but not totally convinced. So see for yourself and decide - it's worth the read. Pay special attention to his live readings - some of them are just amazing.
