haha it is safe to take considering it is already in your body keratin is the thing in your skin that makes it waterproof i dont know why it would be in anything your taking but it is safe
No its helps your muscle grow faster and get bigger faster. Its like a steroid but its legal. You dont inject, its powder and you mix it with water and drink it. They say it puts on "water weight"
at the moment i began shunning my anatomy teacher i did some research and...KERATIN IS A TOUGH FIBROUS PROTEIN AND FORMS THE BASIC STRUCTURE OF HAIR, NAILS, AND CALLUSES (sorry for the caps thats how it pasted into the reply) and also this...Eventually, the Keratin-producing Cells (KERATINCYTES) DIE AND FORM A TOUGH, FLEXIBLE WATERPROOF COVERING ON THE SURFACE OF THE SKIN. (again thats how it was ont he site) i dont know if it has any effects under the skin?? but thats all ive got from human anatomy courses ;D
I suspect that you mean creatine. If you eat meat you don't really need it, if you are vege or want to top up I would say take a low dose daily and forget about the loading period. If you are boxing you need both sustained and sprint power. Creatine tends to work on the explosive side of things....of course there is some doubt whether it works at all and it causes some folk stomach trouble.
If your a boxer don't take it, i took it for a while to bulk up for football, all it does is make you fat and add water weight, so you think your getting heavyier but if you go running with a grabage bag on 2 or 3 time all the weight will be sweated out of you, ultimitly it's usuless to a boxer so just change your diet a bit, eat lots of meat and work out alot unless you have a high motabolism, were less equals more. strang as it sounds but i digress, if your a boxer leave that shit alone
opinion.
definitly not opinion, experiance my friend, and my experiance tells me you don't need it, im not the only one that thinks so there was a phase were most the players on my team took it and got the same results.
same here, friend 8)
He may wish to try a LOW dose for a couple of months + extra water.
It has been shown to aid rehyration which is especially important to boxers prefight since your brain is mostly water.
oh creatine yes ive played with that before and i found that it didnt do anything for my muscle mass it just made me not hurt as much the next day but i dont take it anymore because i eat enough meat anyway and i dont have the extra cash to spit out on it... it doesnt effect me all THAT much anyway
as with most supplements a good diet should cover it ;)
Do you really think some one would want to put on so much un-nessacery weight befor a fight, i guess it would really depend on his case weither he was big or small, im 5'8 and was 170 with it, with out and tryin to get my weight down im at 150 which is perfect because im fast and lighter on my featQuote:

all it really does is allow you to work harder without your muscles failing and you having to stop. it wont actually work a miricle for you, you still got to do all the work.
the safest and most effective thing you could take (also the cheapest) is whey protein.
but you dont need it.
putting on muscle will make you look good, but it will also make you heavier, so your gonna have to be fighting people alot bigger than you.
not to mention the fact you have to be 16 or over to buy sports supplements. i use whey protein and im 200 lb at 5ft 11, so the stuff does work, but your gonna need a proper training split, some mother of determination.
your to young to start all this.
why do you think im so damn small. my dad was 6ft 5 and my mum is around 5ft 11 askwell. i think i must have impacted my spine through snatches and squats at the age of 12.
its not worth it. stick to the body weight excersizes, a nice healthy diet and stamine.
you wont have the power to KO somone at your age anywho
Oh I see. I think you can be any age though to be creatine. My friend claims that he takes it and he is 14.
then his mum has bought it for him.Quote:

What do they ask you for your drivers license? I could pretend I'm 16. Just kidding.
no but they will ask for ID.Quote:

the other day they diddnt even look up, probabely cause im around 3 times bigger than the whole stores staff put together
I see I see. But you live in a totaly different country, maybe there are different rules were we live. Maybe, but your probably right though.
nope i come from florida and its still got the limit... the reason is because WHEN YOUR 14 your muscles arent developed fully and you shouldnt be trying to make them bigger before their done growing because they can in turn stunt muscle growth
OH alirhgt then. So I guess Ill stick with the weights and no creatine
i dotn suggest any heavy weight either because your still young anyone ever seen that little kid hes like 9 and he could squat like 150... that kid was drileld by his father on lifting since the age of like 5 and hes a MESS be careful with weight at your age
Oh I know how much to do and what not to do. My dad is a power lifter, and he tells me whats good to lift and whats not good to lift at this age. Ya I ehard something about that 9 yr old kid. "Strongest" boy in the world. Whats wrong with him now?
hes better now but before he was sooo big for his age that it was like dangerous i dont know the details but hell probably be quite flabby when hes older unless he works out heavily for liek the rest of his life
Well that kind of sucks in a way.
Am I the only one here who has used and liked creatine? very strange....
First of all, at your age, I would strongly recommend you avoid any suppliments other than the basics like whey protein... it's basically the same thing as eating a little more meat every day so it is not likely to do any damage. Second, at your age, it's important not to do too much work with heavy weight or you'lll stunt your growth. Not to mention, as Alex suggested, it will increase your weight and force you to fight people that are bigger, stronger, and likely more experienced. It's good to challenge yourself, but you have to take baby steps. Get in the ring with the wrong guy and you could get your clock cleaned. :o
Having said that, I took it for about a month and increased my bench press by almost 20% after about 2 months of no progress. I know the stuff worked for me, but I constantly felt queazy when I drank the stuff and it tasted like chemicals. I've always been a little uncomfortable with all the unatural chemicals we put into our bodies so I didn't continue using it, but from my experience, it worked fairly well.
thats 100% correct. your bench press would indeed increase by a substantial amount because it numbs the feeling in your muscles.Quote:

at 14 you shouldn't be lifting too heavy as you are still growing, plenty of gyms round here wouldn't let you train.
I'm in favor of creatine monohydrate, like Missy said, it increases strength and explosive power while also increasing our muscular energy reserves.
Last summer I could work like a machine, do unlimited situps/pushups, max out machines, and have endurance to boot. Besides protein and my diet, creatine helped me sustain my strength for a longer period of time. I still had to do the work, it just let me put in 110% and I was able to gain over 20 pounds in a month and a half period. Besides delaying fatigue, it helped me recover faster, after extremely intense training sessions.
If supplemented properly, Creatine will not be the cause of gaining weight. Don't load up on it, or advanced doses, this may attribute to fatigue during a bout. Friends of mine have become dehydrated and worn out because of higher doses.
You should take about 3-5 grams a day, and don't take any right before the weigh-ins. Experiment with the best does for you, but for Pete's sake be careful, take it to increase your performance, not to hinder yourself. If you can use your head, then you can get the best out of creatine.

:appl:
glad I'm not the only one who has used it successfully.
rocky thats great mate.
BUT THERE IS NO WAY ON THE PLANET THAT YOU GAINED 20 POUNDS ON A MONTH AND A HALF.
well unless you used to weight 100lb, and you worked like a real bitch. most people struggle on gaining 10lb per year, and you did 2 years work in a month?
im not alling you a lier yet, but that really makes very little sense. even steriods dont produce those kind of results.
even if you were bulking at the time (eating like a bitch) it still makes very little sense.
actually bud i disagree befor i took an suplements i was 120 and got to 150 in6 months
God damn, dont really need it if you eat meat???Quote:

How many grams are there in creatine?
I skipped most of the posts, but just as a warning:
My cousin (17 at the time) was taking creatine as a supplement to help him body build. However, he was on some medications for pain from playing hockey. One of the medications he was taking reacted with the creatine and actually caused him to pass out and stop breathing. He was in the hospital for about a week, and for the first few days, every time he fell asleep, he stopped breathing. He would have died had his brother not walked into his room and found him passed out on the floor, not breathing. So if your gonna do creatine, be wicked careful about it, and make sure you do your research. But I'd still recommend doing things the natural way.
Well that sucks to hear. Good thing is that he's ok. If some one takes creatine and someone does it all the natural way, in the end will they be the same or will one be stronger then the other?
haha stop pussy footing around the subject... youve heard arguments from both sides now the only way to find out is to try it out but just remember to be careful we all have no real control over what you do we just advise you to be careful about anything concerning your body like this
look ill spell it out for you.
if you take creatine and sit at home... NOTHING WILL HAPPEN
if you take creatine and do your normal regime... NOTHING WILL HAPPEN
creatine only allows you to lift more and more often.
it wont do the work for you, it just allows you to do more work to get bigger
if you are prepared to work out for longer and with far heavier weights (which is what creatine will allow you to do) then you will get results.
whey protein does things to your muscles to make them grow faster, creatine allows you to lift more.
since it IS in meat and we are talking about a low maintenance dose why are you freaked out? body building and boxing are two different sports in case you hadn't noticed. IF you are on are eating a reasonable amount of meat a day I doubt you would need it for boxing if you want to be a big freak then take more, if your diet is low on meat/no meat I would also suggest trying it ::)Quote:
