He lacks discipline," stated Jin Mosley, business partner and wife of three-division world champion Shane Mosley, as she fired back at Team Judah's recent comments about their unwillingness to negotiate a new date for their canceled May 31st clash. You don't want to miss what else she had to say.
JM: "First off, let me clarify...it's not about who wears the pants in the family, it's about a job role. I'm not speaking as Shane's wife, I'm speaking as his business partner. I can separate the roles. Who the fuck :o is this Dave whatever his name is [Dave Richardson, the latest name to crop up as Judah's manager]? Just like he's speaking on behalf of his client, I'm speaking on behalf of mine. I wish people could get that through their heads. I'm speaking as a business partner who's invested thousands upon thousands of dollars on training expenses, travel arrangements, uniforms, merchandising, etc. Shane has invested time and energy and he's sacrificed a lot and it wasn't just so Zab can throw a temper tantrum over an argument with his dad.
I won't allow my client to risk another six months, or however long, of his life hoping and taking a gamble that maybe Zab will grow up in the meantime and realize that this is a job, not a hobby or a pastime. We don't have some dude off the street buying us bottles of Dom P or paying our bills, so we can't afford the luxury of waiting around with our fingers crossed hopinig that the fight will happen. Zab has a history of emotional behavior and at this point in Shane's career, it's too risky to just wait. Had it been a legitimate injruy, we would have entertained the thought of moving it back, but the fact that he threw a hissy fit and acted like a maniac in a professional work setting shows that he never took this fight seriously. If we give in to his demands of pushing it back now, then he can pull another stint later on. It's like dealing with a child. I may be only a 'wife' in some eyes, but at least I can protect and guide my investment better than these self-proclaimed 'managers'........BUT, if David whatever his name is and Michael Shinefield want to sit around and talk reimbursement for training fees and want to come up with a fair reimbursement for time lost, I'm a business woman and we can sit down and renegotiate a deal. It's funny that even with FOUR advisors, none of them could make a fight happen. Dave, instead of talking about someone you never met personally or shit you don't know nothing about, you should be babysitting your fighter. Don't worry about my household and how it gets done because Shane always steps up to the plate. Even with a cut, he would've stepped into the ring."

I dislike Jin Mosely intensely having seen a short documentary on Shane's life on HBO's website.
She has the nerve to say as wife and mother, Shane owes her for being his manager.
She said managing him and being a mother means he has to spoil her when he's out of training, anbd disregards his efforts in the ring.
She's a saavy businesswoman, but not a nice lady.

...she's a total bitch. Sometimes women have to be bitches to do well in business because some people don't take them seriously but Jin has a huge chip on her shoulder and it's not moving for anyone, not even Shane it seems.
She's just a little too feisty for my liking and she doesn't seem to turn it off at least when there are cameras or reporters around

Man I agree, and I don't want to completely hate on her, but if she is as she presents herself, I dunno how Shane pouts up with her.
I'll never forget when he was in training for Cotto she said his job was easy and she was just waiting for him to come home and rub her feet, I couldn't believe it.

Damn!!!!! She put the smack down on Zab almost as bad as Shane would have.....
Raising several kids without dad around is extremely difficult. They have been married for a long time and she can have a little leeway with the cameras. I really don't think she means it's easy. But Shane is doing what he loves to do and it's by choice. When he's gone training she has to do extra work to make up for him being gone.
My wife and I used to have arguments about this..... I now see her point of view. But if i'm Shane, I hire a nanny!!!! So I don't have to listen to that crap.;)

OK she is his manager but she needs to separate that from their marriage and she is not. He really needs to work on his image and PR because he he will become a laughing stock if this continues. This is seriously humilating Mosley and makes him look as if he has no balls.

She might be an overbearing wife, and she might have made some mistakes managing Shane's career, but she has done a better job than most managers. Everything she said about Zab was right. Regardless of the dumb move to fight Winky, Shane shows up and handles his business in a profession way. He always holds up his end of the bargain. The wife might be a pain in the ass, and I don't really like her much, but she made good points.

I feel the exact same way. This bitch hit the jackpot when she roped in Shane. Guy seems like a hell of a person... Seems like a good dad... Great role model and one hell of a fighter...
With the right management he could have been the biggest thing in boxing. He had a great style for the boxing and nonboxing oriented public. He was a good looking charasmatic, polite guy with the tools to beat virtually anyone in his prime.
Jin did not work the angles that a more capable manager could have to market him in the right manner...
Christ, I would have never put him in against VF twice one after another and probably not up against Winky possibly at all... DEFINITLY not after the first loss...

(Not to say that she is the only one involved in the decision makeing but she is his manager and if she can sit and talk shit about Zab being babysat... Get his confidence back and possibly(I stress) possibly give him a rematch(although It would not have even been allowed to enter my mind and I'm no manager!)
I think I have pleaded a decent case for how much she sucks!

How many times has she had to deal with fighting a bigger or more skilled in an area or slicker man?
How many times has she had to deal with a loss by stepping back in the ring straight away against the very man that just beat you?
How many times has she had to listen to her dumbass wife make stupid statements to the media like she's trying to be somebody...

She might be an overbearing wife, and she might have made some mistakes managing Shane's career, but she has done a better job than most managers. Everything she said about Zab was right. Regardless of the dumb move to fight Winky, Shane shows up and handles his business in a profession way. He always holds up his end of the bargain. The wife might be a pain in the ass, and I don't really like her much, but she made good points.
You forgot the second Winky fight and the two Forest fights... Hey, why not fight Cotto again right NOW...
She needs to keep her mouth shut and concintrate on making better decisions... END OF STORY!
All those fights Shane wanted. He didn't want to shy away. Probably didn't matter what Jin said in those. Anyways, Mosley is a classy and immensely talented guy. He has cramped his potential a little by his father training him, and his wife managing him. However, these things have only held him back a little. There's no big scandal in his life, no big problems, and what the hell there's plenty of bad managers and trainer problems in the boxing world, Shane has been loyal and kept it all in the family. Jin is a little more outspoken but that's his wife, so who cares. She has more at stake than most, and she's entitled to a little shit talkin.....
I agree she's a little too much for me, but it's not like it matters. She has done a good job, not the greatest, but good. They make good money on his fights and his promotional interests. He's never had a scandal, and the steroids rumors have been hushed, and gotten little publicity. All in all you have to say she's done well....

You guys are funny....IMO everyone is Blasting her a bit too much...She is making perfect business sense...Mosley is getting up there... At his age he only has another 3 or so good fights left in him at a top tier level...So another 3 months waiting time or 5 months waiting time shortens that....Judah F***** up not Shane....The Mosley camp is under no obligation for anything....
Hat to burst anyones Jin bashing moments here but there are a TON of other promoters, managers...Duva, King, etc that would have insisted that Judah be made to pay some sort of financial restitution at this stage in the game...The fight is 3 weeks away not only are they out the $10,000 of thousands spent on promotion and training fees but they are out a whole purse so we ar talking over a $1,000,000 for Judahs bullshit.....Now what anyone here starts dealing withnthat kind of money you can be a bit more critical....I have money that says 90% of you bashing her would throw a bigger deal if you were out $500 let alone what Mosley is
As for comments on the fact Jin feels she deserves to be paid for her work as Mosleys manager and her being his wife and mother of his children has nothing to do with it....What because she is his wife she is obligated to be a wife, mom and handle his management affairs as well...Doesn't work like that....I have a feeling no one who is saying this has ANY idea how much work goes into managing a fighter let alone one of Mosleys status....I also bet thoise same people who feel she does not deserve to get paid couldn't get their wives or girlfriends to take out the garbage or shovel snow let alone do a task like managing a multi million dollar career
