Glen Johnson !!!
He is just too old, he has always been a tough warhorse (Apart from when he went through some problems) at 39 years old is he really going to do anymore than what we have seen of him
id look to the SMW division too look to the future of the LHW's.. alot of good young fighters who can step up...
Yeah I think so as well, was thinking Kessler and Bute but may be too small, need a bigger frame, heard Yusaf Mack is looking to make waves in the division, if he has has the right preparation certainly has the ability, Lacy is finished, Froch is too skinny and in my opinion is going to lose when he gets a decent challenge, Andrade too small, Not really sure there is anyone else, any thoughts?
i dont think its such an issue for froch being skinny, his power could hurt any LHW.. Pavlik will b a LHW one day as well
Roy Jones looked good again last time out, albeit against a much smaller man. Calzaghe will show his who's boss. After that though it seems a pretty boring division. Thought Dawson was supposed to be the new star? Was the first time i'd seen him fight against Johnson. He didn't really look up for it.
I don't think Chad proved he "isn't all that" by any means. I thought Johnson probably deserved the nod in their fight but I was rooting for Glen big time and Dawson did a lot of things well..Chad is still an excellent young talent. Everyone has tough fights where things don't go all their way, and Johnson is an extremely tough fight for anyone at LHW. There isn't a fighter in the world who you couldn't pick at their record to find a particular fight early in their career where they didn't look all that.
I think Cazalghe will be hanging up the gloves after he beats RJJ, Froch is over rated
Adrian Diaconu is pretty exciting and could really get the division going. Glen Johnson showed he has some years left IMO. Juergen Braehmer has some heart and real power. Pavlik could easily move up. Froch while not a world beater IMO has enough power to give him a punchers chance in every fight. Woods, even though he was schooled by Jones and lost 3 times to Johnson is a great gatekeeper.
All in all this should be the first division to form a senior league, 40+
Chris Byrd
40+ League I like it lol, Diaconu didn't look too impressive over Chris Henry recently, but is undefeated and will be a threat, Chad Dawson is still a decent prospect but he is too easily drawn into a fight and although his conditioning have got him through a few scares his chin will let him down. Pavlik, it's a big jump from middleweight, not sure there is much in it for him taken that step, he makes the middleweight limit far easier than most, Braehmer is a decent domestic and Euro fighter but may get a shock on the world class scene. From sources I here Woods is looking to call it a day
check out his sparring efforts on youtube

He looks ill and will be trying to fight Light Heavyweights at Heavyweight pace, I will be surprised if he beats Shaun George never mind making an impact on the division
Geezus, it was a joke:rolleyes:... When have you all EVER heard me sing his praises:confused:
All things considered I place this division at #2 for least talent behind the boys of 154.
Now hold on, Chad Dawson is by no means a pushover and one of the most talented young champions in the game. He will be around for a long time and I don't see how anyone could possibly write him off at this young of age, that is ridiculous. Nobody is going to have an easy night with Glen Johnson and I thought both gave good accounts of themselves. A young fighter with lots of handspeed and he punches in combinations. You can't hold a close exceptional fight against a guy especially since he did show any major flaws, Johnson just never goes away. That was the best fight in years at 175, gave hope to the future.
Tavoris Cloud is a young guy who looks like he could be something special. Tall, salking fighter with short punches and a ton of power. I have been blown away each time I've seen Cloud.
Beibut Shemanov was a great amateur and now he's 5-0 in the pro ranks. In those 5 all have ended in KO and he's already stricken down Donnell Wiggins and Levell Finger. He's definitely on the fast track to a title shot, no 4 year plan there. He's a good one.
Then of course 168 is stacked and I'm sure a bunch of fighters from that division will make a play for 175. From champions like Kessler and Lacy to young guys like Ward who was a light heavyweight at the Olympics to Andre Dirrell who looked pretty good last time out against Hanshaw despite getting hurt early. Then of course there are guys like Bute, Pascal and even Byrd whom I think should be taken seriously at least for 1 fight.
Not the most deep division but they have a very good champion in Dawson and in boxing a few people moving up can turn a division right around. It wasn't to long ago when Zab Judah and Antonio Margarito were the top 2 at welterweight and names like Cotto, Mayweather, Mosley ect were elsewhere.
I just sent you some Bad Rep. for this post.
I completely disagree here with your comment on BCD.
I mean really? "With Chad proving he is not all that"
Uuuummm! He beat Glen in a very close fight that could have gone either way.
Glen holds wins against RJJ, Tarver and Woods.
He's fought Hopkins. (Lost) and Mr. Calzaghe has avoided fighting him.
I think more then anything BCD showed heart and will to fight even when it was obvious prior to the fight that Glen would out gunn him he traded with Glen. At times he boxed beautifully and moved well.
If having a close fight with Glen, tellls YOU that BCDs not all that then so be it. But it tells me that even when the opponent infron of him is a brawler that has proven he can knock people out and he decides to trade that BCDs good and ready for anyone else.
Hope you stick around here long enough and see what the kid will continue to do.
That's fair enough, if he boxes he looks great, it's just he gets drawn in too easily, He did it against Adamek, he did it against Johnson, He did it against Eric Harding, he has a massive heart to get through these knock downs but his chin may not stand up to the tests of time. When the top champions come through they generally get through fights like these unscathed, he is lucky still to be unbeaten, in my opinion Johnson beat him, but I though Johnson beat Woods 3 times as well. Johnson is always there but apart from a shot RJJ who has he ever stopped of real world class level, no one.
We will see I hope for the sake of the LHW division you are right
I've been a fan of BCD since he was about 16-0 and he said he would be a champion one day. I believed him, what was surprising to me was his move from SMW to LHW. But that's another topic, I think BCDs skilled enough to reign as a champ.
As i've mentioned before EVEN IF he loses the kids only 25...
Yes, twenty five.... 2 - 5 the kids still got time to improve and work on things...
I think he pretty much beats everyone with the exceptions of Calzaghe.
I think he beats Tarver, Erdei, RJJ, Woods whomever.
Yes I am not disagreeing with you, you have already sent me a lot of bad reps already lol, I know he is 25, and yes a loss would not end him, he is a good talent but fighters without solid chins are always at risk, he has great talent and I am a fan of his but his chin worries me, I think he would give Calzaghe problems who didn't look as strong at LHW. That fight will never happen anyway, Think he will fight RJJ and get out on top. Diaconu may be a risk to Dawson after he demolished Rico Hoye, will see as I said for the hope of the LHW division i hope your right
