Does anyone think Dawson has a chance? I know Dawson isn't the greatest I just believe that it bring out another side of Calzaghe. Does anyone think Chad has a chance or is this just a blow out?

I dont think he has a chance...but the fight isn't happening anyway.
I know just wondering
People have mentioned Joe Calzaghe may benefit from a young undefeated fighter on his resume with regards to legacy and Dawson is the future of the division. But he isn't a big enough name really, and Johnson gave him a beating last time. Calzaghe would outclass Dawson imo but I'd much rather see him fight Pavlik, and that fight itself is not a certainty to happen.
All these people saying Dawson has no chance remind me how many world class Southpaw's has Calzaghe fought ?? and how many slick fighters has Calzaghe fought ?? Johnson never gave Dawson a beating it was a very close fight which i had a draw and majority of the people had it no more than 2 points either way hardly a "Beating". I think Dawson has the tools to make Calzaghe look terrible and he has decent chance at beating Calzaghe, Calzaghe has never dealt with anyone remotely close to Dawson.
I believe with three mnore fights Dawson would beat Calzaghe.
He's still very young, learning on the job and that fight with Johnson will have taught him many things.
Dawson would destroy Calzaghe.
He just got passed Johnson, who is marginally better than Clinton Woods who is a C level fighter VD?
Behave yourself ;D
I believe Calzaghe would beat Dawson, but Dawson is one of biggest challenges out there, and in terms of being competitive it would remind more of the Kessler fight than the Lacy fight.
A more pressing question however is why the f*** the initial post has a negative rep? It's a good question and it is posed in a fairly balanced why. Why the hate?
Yep, scared shitless, thats why he just fought and beat the guy who smashed Johnson up, the only time Glenn (I was robbed) Johnson has ever lost.
Calzaghe scared of Glen Johnson over Lacy, Kessler and B-Hop in Vegas LMAO ;D
Just because Johnson struggled against Woods means nothing, boxing is all about Rock, Paper, Scissors, Salvador Sanchez struggled with Patrick Ford, but Ford lost to C level fighters, does that make Sanchez a C level fighter ?? no it was down to styles Ford had Thomas Hearns type of build and gave Sanchez trouble with his jab.
sorry but its a UD for Calzaghe...
Dawson isnt really a big enough name at this point in time for calzaghe to end his career on.
Calzaghe would fucken school BCD...
I'm a huge BCD fan and I feel he can beat Tarver, Woods and RJJ.
But I think he loses to Calzaghe soundly.
Calzaghes proved that he's head and shoulders above everyones level.
calzaghe did twice pull out of a fight with glen johnson, when johnson demanded some money upfront for it to be put back again, saying he can't risk paying out for training and missing out on another fight again because joe pulls out a 3rd time................ calzaghe and warren canceled altogether......why......did they known in advance that joe would get injured again.......
the dawson fight won't happen, even tho chad ain't no great warren and calzaghe will see it as to much of a risk, he's young, had some critics, got something to prove, tall, lefty as well...........warren dont do risks and joe dont take fights warren dont like
It does get annoying for a fighter to constantly talk about how he always gets robbed but the fact is Johnson has gotten screwed a lot.
He did clearly beat Sheika. Probably the worst was the Daniel Judah one, Daniel Judah sucked. How they made that a draw is beyond me.
lets be fair big h....b-hop was 43, lost 2 of his last 4 fights, hadn't fought in nearly a year and calzaghe was big favoured to win, not many thought hopkins could beat him at this stage in life so the risk wasn't al that
kessler a good fighter but nothing more, plus he's tailler made, no head movement, stands there and takes shot, again not many pundits gave kessler anything more then a small chance......... calzaghe again was big fav to win
lacy was thought to have a chance but did nothing but stand there taking punch after punch, i've watched the fight a few times, every time it gets more obvious lacy is very limited, but fair play joe did a super job on him
Would be a one sided hiding to nothing if the 2 ever met and i suspect JC would get a heavy points win.
What possibly does chad dawson bring to the table that jeff lacy never??
lacy is still a class act who has it within him to become a world champion at 168 if he ever manages to get over recouring injuries.
Ive rated dawson for a while but still think the guy is a long way off being the finished article.
Pavlik, kessler, miranda, RJJ, froch - all deserve a shot at JC before you can start mentioning CD`s name!!
Oh come on comparing Lacy to Dawson is a bit silly bro IMO, Lacy kept walking forward against Calzaghe looking for 1 big punch all night, Dawson is taller, he has better skills, has a better defense, better foot work, better hand speed, the list just goes on and on.
Froch? Are you serious? You can't be serious.
Kessler? Why would you rematch somebody your beat so clearly.
Miranda? That's even more silly than Froch.
Pavlik - maybe, but he still has fights to make at 160.
Jones - This will probably happen, but not because Jones deserves it.
Lacy may be a class act, but Peter Manfredo was outboxing him until Jeff caught him. In every respect except power, Dawson is a superior fighter. He schooled Adamek, he got the win over Glen Johnson, and he has a win on his resume over Eric Harding. Those three wins are better than anything Lacy has every done. He holds the WBC belt. If Calzaghe wanted to fight the most deserving challenger, it would be Dawson, but he won't do it because he has very little to gain. Even Tarver has more claim than the people you mention.
Naturally im talking about a 168/catchweight fight.
pavlik/miranda wouldnt dream of stepping up to 175 for JC - froch could manage it and his desire to make the fight happen would be enough to make it a light heavyweight contest.
Of course the chances of any of these fights going down are non existent.
All ifs and buts - JC will fight either RJJ for another big name on his CV or will solidify himself as the number1 at 168+ against pavlik!!
