Hatton to fight PAC if he can't get a Mayweather rematch

Why the hell would Hatton want a rematch with Mayweather anyway ?? it would be one of the most pointless rematches in recent years.

But, if there was only a different referee (maybe Hatton's mom will be available this time), and if Floyd wasn't allowed to foul Hatton like Hatton was allowed to foul Tszyu, and if it was fought in a smaller ring, and if the fight had been in the U.K., and if Hatton had been allowed to do steroids for 3 months prior to the fight, and if he was allowed to carry a lead pipe into the ring he could have won! :rolleyes: </sarcasm>

Sorry Hatton fans, I like the guy too, but I'm sick of hearing excuses for his loss to PBF. He was beat by the better man and he'd lose to Floyd 9 times out of 10 regardless of the circumstances.

First of all Hatton will never get a PBF rematch, he never won a round and was KTFO! Secondly, this is a bad match up for Pac as i believe Hatton would be to big and strong for the Pac man. Thirdly, i don't think Hatton knows what direction to take his career after losing to PBF. One thing is for certain it won't be heading toward a second PBF fight!

mayweather looked the most uncomfortable in the ring against hatton than any other fighter. and I gave hatton a couple rounds not many but a couple.

Mayweather may have looked uncomfortable because of the way Hatton fights but he was very comfortable with the way the fight was progressing to it's ultimate ending.

LOL. Hatton more or less admits that he can't really hack it a half division higher at welterweight ("I'm not as strong there" he says) but he don't mind facing off against Pacquaio as a supposed legacy enhancing fight.

Hatton had been fighting at 140 for 12 years while pac hasn't even fought at 135 yet. This is a complete mismatch but if their motive is $$$$$ then pac may continue with this stupid idea.

if hatton wins this next fight and then beats Paulie, and looks impressive in doing so, i can near enough garuantee that mayweather-Hatton will happen late next year.. Possibly at wembley..

Well he did win 2 rounds on my card thats about it, and Mayweather looked more uncomfortable vs Jesus Chavez, Jose Luis Castillo 1 etc.

I just want to see Ricky come back and beating Lazcano convincingly. He just got knocked out fer christs sakes. One at a time, one at a time.

I didn't like it when the Mayweather-Oscar rematch was announced, but I can accept the fight because the first one was competitive.

Mayweather-Hatton II, on the other hand, would be completely pointless. Mayweather will knock him out again and in fewer rounds this time. There is no referee, training regimen, weight class, or set of judges that could give Ricky Hatton the ability to compete with Mayweather.

Mayweather adapts and figures guys out better than anyone. In the event of a rematch, Floyd will have an easier time because he knows Ricky's style, knows what works and what he can and can't do.

Whats Ricky going to do different? With all due respect to him, he has his style and thats it. Its a wonderful style thats obviously been effective, but he tried it and it got him beat and KO'd. I don't see what he could do different.

But it would be one of the funniest rematches as well:D I love Hatton, have for a while. I like his style for the most part and to a degree; but I never thought he belonged in the ring with Floyd and I never will. You need more than what he can bring to the ring to beat Floyd. He'll get brutalized so bad in a rematch it would be criminal.

As far as Hatton/Pac, it would be a barnburner of a little fight. I was holding out hope of seeing Hatton/Juan Diaz one day, but I guess it won't ever happen.

Now, he either wants a rematch with PBF, or a fight with PAC, a 130-pound fighter.

Well not that I like the idea of a Pac fight (and I hate the idea of a PBF rematch) but kind of, yeah. I mean who's out there, there's Malignaggi who he's already planning on fighting. Other than that there's Timothy Bradley and I'm not sure who would think of that as a big fight. There's Ricardo Torres which know that I think about it is probably the best fight besides Malignaggi. But there's not much at 140. Funny cause were not that far away from when it was the division with Hatton, Tsyzu, PBF, etc.

There are some prospects, Victor Ortiz and Lamont Peterson for example but they aren't going to get a shot right now.

The only thing hatton did well in the fight was preasure mayweather... But that 'wasn't even very effective... Ricky is strong yeas, but so is mayweather and skillwise it is not even close...

Meh, I'd personally quite like to see a Hatton vs Pac fight come off sometime in the future... Assuming Pac doesn't look like shit against Diaz or something, I think it's an exciting matchup. Hatton would probably be too strong for Manny, but Pacquiao is a more talented fighter quite clearly imo. Plus he is reportedly having trouble making 130, If he could carry his speed ok he might be able to beat Hatton. It very much depends on how each of these guys handle their next opponents. I don't expect Diaz to do much against Manny, nor Lazcano against Hatton.. But imo Malignaggi could potentially throw a wrench in this whole thing if he and Ricky fight.

BTW I voiced my views coming from a Hatton persepective himself, I'm pretty sure he's thinking the bit I've highlighted ;) I would like to see Hatton have 5 fights before he retires and then retire the undisputed champ at 140 with the WBC,IBF,WBO,WBA titles.

Judging from the replies here, Hatton-PAC has a big chance of making it late this year or early next year... It's one of the biggest fight for Hatton since PAC is also a big name... 2 boxers that has the majority support of fans in their respective countries... And that's assuming PAC will do well at 135...

I don't care how much Hatton wants a rematch he got pretty much shut out last time, and it would be a pointless rematch for both fighters. Mayweather needs to fight winner of Cotto vs Margarito or Williams vs Quintana 2, and Hatton needs to fight Torres, Paulie, Bradley. And i would actually be more excited if Hatton fought the title holders at 140.

im the biggest hatton fan you could meet, and i have no excuses for his loss to floyd, floyd was easily the better fighter.no doubt about that. however no matter what anybody says joe cortez didnt cost hatton the fight but he certainly did not referee that fight well. I think hatton v mayweather 2 might not be everybodys cup of tea but i wanna see it regardess. If its true that mayweather wants a rematch then hatton should jump at the chance even if its at 147. People woud say mayweather should fight margarito and he probably should but he will make 10 times the money fighting hatton.
