Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
I'm a huge Sugar Shane fan and I suppose I'm desperate to see him back at the top but I would love to see him in the ring with Floyd or Cotto again. I think he could give Floyd problems. Also I thought the fight with Cotto was quite close. What would be the chances of a rematch or a mega fight with Mayweather ?

I like Mosely too.But i reckon Mayweather would do a number on him.If anyone can dismantle Mayweather it'll be HOYA 2nd time round in september.

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
Well , about Mosley i think that he should rank again and probably he would get another opportunity .................but imo i really dont interest on a rematch with Mosley .................if that happen well ........;D
And about Mayweather when he decide to Boxing , maybe we could see him fighting ..................
He is sooooo busy in WWE , you know.........

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
Not at the expense of Mayweather fighting the winner of Cotto/Margarito

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
Why did you make this thread ?? Cotto beat Mosely. Mayweather-Cotto needs to happen.

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
I'd like to see PBF fight both Mosely and Cotto. I think both guys would have some questions for him, and I'd be interested in seeing his answers.
But if it's an either-or situation, I'd say Cotto is the man to fight at 147 right now. Anyone else and Mayweather should be ashamed of himself. There's dollars to be made there, and legacy. It's the fight that makes the most sense from any point of view, financial or career-defining.

I assume you mean after the DLH rematch? Cuz there's no way fighting Cotto rather than Oscar again would make any sense for Floyd. I mean financially(which is really what matters to a fighter), it would make more sense for Floyd to rematch Hatton in the UK... He'd make a lot more money than he would against Cotto after all.. I'm not saying I want to see either of these fights, but I really have a hard time criticizing a fighter for taking the obvious highest payday out there. The fact is Floyd really can't sell anything on his own, it has to be about his opponent at this point. And Cotto is no big sell just yet either.

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
These to in their primes at light weight - that I would wanna see
-
Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
mosely would give floyd problems and ask certain questions that havent yet been completely answered by PBF.
I honestly think if they ever fought shane would have it in him to match floyd punch for punch and with shanes previous experience at 154 who`s to say he wouldnt potentially be able to dictate certain elements of the fight??
-
Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
I used to want to see this very much, but after the Cotto fight, I'm not interested. Three years ago I would have loved to see it. Now I'm only interested in seeing him fight the Cotto/Tony winner.

Mosley vs Mayweather wouldn't be as close as some people think, Mosley is a bit robotic in his upper body movement, plus his power doesn't seem to be there anymore, neither does his legendary speed. Although if Mayweather didn't use the jab which is Mosley's biggest weakness then Mayweather could have tougher fight on his hands, but i think Mayweather would out box Mosley quite clearly by at least 7 rounds to 4 with 1 even. Mosley did make the Cotto fight close but IMO he didn't look that great and if he fought like that vs Mayweather he would get his ear's boxed off, but i would still like to see the fight nonetheless.

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
Mayweather Vs. Cotto/Margarito winner...........thats all I want.

I don't see how Shane's previous experience at 154 is a good argument, Mosley had few fights at 154, 1 against Raul Marquez which was No Contest, the other was a controversial decision against ODLH in there 2nd meeting, which Mosley didn't deserve, and then he got clearly beat twice by Winky Wright and both fights wern't close as Mosley was clearly out boxed. The others that are worth noting were against faded Fernando Vargas.

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
Sod the likes of Mosley, Floyd should be fighting the young, hungry Welters and stop fighting the big money guys if he wants to keep his No.1 Welterweight status.

Cotto is the number 1 welteweight for me. Floyd beat Judah on PTS while getting knocked down, Cotto knocked him out. Floyd beat a shot to fuck Mitchell and a Jr welter in Ricky Hatton. Cotto beat Shane Mosely and Carlos Quiantana. Carlos Baldomir is hardly a great as well. Cotto without doubt has fought the better competition at WW.

You dismiss Hatton now. But before you were swearing up and down that Hatton was going to beat Mayweather. :LOLATYOU:

Well any heavyweight can make more money fighting Tyson then anybody else but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. Cotto-Mayweather is bigger then 99% of fights out there and I don't believe for a second that it wouldn't be a record breaker everyone I talk to who knows boxing wants that fight.

I've said how Hatton is a natural 140 pounder and he ain't comfortable at 147 prior to the PBF fight, I thought he would win yes, he didn't.

Ah yea leftylee i agree with you too bro.... but certainly Floyd at this moment he is the #1 P4P list , but this Year if Floyd dont make a competitive fight in WW Div. , IMO he will loss the position #1 and i know that he will not going to make it , but we have to give the opportunity and is true Floyd defeated in JWW by UD Maussa , Victoriano Sosa , Corley , Judah and others , While Cotto defeated all of them KO , for me he is the #1 too , i dont give a mind if Foyd fight again with Oscar , but there is a list that tell you who is the #1 P4P.......

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
No, that is the kind of fight PBF needs to avoid. There are too many good welterweights in their prime right now. The only fight that makes sence is the Margarito-Cotto winner.
-
Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
As for Mayweather - Mosley,I wouldn't mind that match up at all except for the fact that there are better ones out there. Or maybe just a better one out there because the only one I'd want to see more then that is Mayweather-Cotto. So it's not all that bad of a fight and it's not like Mosley was exactly outclassed by Cotto.
-
Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
It's PBF v the winner of Cotto V Margarito. PBF will beat Oscar again and then we should have the match up we all want to see. I think that will be against Cotto. Mosley is 37 in September! The used by date has expired for Sugar Shane i am sorry to say because he is one of my favourites, like Tszyu before him time catches up with you eventually. Any possible match up with Floyd could not happen until 2009 when Mosley will be pushing 38!!
-
Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
i would love to see it, mosley can give anyone a tough fight.

Of course thats what should happen...but i dont think it will
Floyd now has the star quality to be able to dictate how often in a year he defends his title of "p4p king" and where he does it.
The guy has all the cards to play with and i honestly cant see him looking past a summer 2009 rematch with hatton at wembley stadium, both financially and in terms of floyd believing it would be an easier night than fighting the winner of cotto/marg.

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
Mayweather needs to fight Cotto/Margarito. No Hattons and no Mosleys, but the winner of Cotto and Margarito.

Word for word that is exactly how my post would have came out, had I not seen yours..
I will add though, Cotto vs Mayweather is going to be simply sensational...
I love Cotto's intensity and fight nature.. I think it is the perfect style to beat Floyd.... BUT, I do think he'll need to tighten up his game...
In no way did Zab look like beating Cotto, but with his speed he was able to pick some good shots. Had he had a little more power, or thrown them more freely, he could have really put the pressure on Cotto... Again, in no way saying Zab reallly threatened Cotto, but as Larry Merchant would say -
"Zab, is no Mayweather"
You can be damn sure Mayweather is going to pot Cotto with a lot of hard counters.. I just hope he is on his game..
After Mayweather takes on Cotto, he's free to fight whoever he wants after that and I will enjoy like every other fight...

Precisely, if he really wanted to make money he'd be fighting more often and it wouldn't be a case of either/or.

There is no way on earth that Hatton will get a rematch with PBF anywhere, anytime. Why would he deserve it in his own backyard? He got flattened in the first fight and was never in the fight! If the fight was close i could understand it but really the only option for Mayweather money wise and legacy wise is to fight and beat Miguel Cotto.
-
Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
I wouldn't mind seeing a Mayweather/ Mosley fight; Mosley fought well enough against Cotto to be competitive but unfortunately I can't see it fitting into the schedule. Floyds got DLH in September then the only fight he should take next is the winner of Cotto/ Margarito (Cotto IMO). After that it could possibly happen but Mosley ain't getting any younger. Depends though on Mosley's next opponent: if its a top guy & he dominates then there maybe some demand for it after the Cotto showdown.
-
Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
If Margarito wins, who would you most want to see Floyd face? Margarito, Cotto, Hatton, Mosley or even another De La Hoya bout.
I have no interest in Mayweather - Margarito unless Margarito suddenly looks fast. I think Cotto would still be the fight but in that case I would love to see him fight Mosley.

If Margarito defeats Cotto then he should get the next shot at Floyd, maybe a Cotto/ Mosley rematch could determind Mayweathers next opponent after that.
Whoever wins Cotto/ Margarito I'll be interested in seeing them in against Floyd

Re: Anyone really want to see a Mayweather-Mosely match
As someone mentioned earlier, at their primes at lightweight...Floyd vs. Shane would be a dream match up. Or the Shane that fought Oscar in their first fight vs. Floyd would also be pretty incredible. Shane is still a tremendous warrior (i had his fight with Cotto a draw), but he looked noticeably slower in the Cotto fight...and his blazing speed and athleticism where his biggest assets. He still would be no pushover against Floyd now...but Shane in his prime would be a tremendous challenge for Mayweather.
