The thing I am pissed at Tyson for is quitting he went out perhaps the worst way a champion or former champion could go out....he quit, he wasn't hurt, he just didn't want to try anymore when people pay hard earned money to watch HIM fight....he was a good fighter but I lost respect for him the way he went out
I understand but he quit because people dont believe in him
so that is like being KO trust me people gave on me and that put me back
but then they realized and helped me
but not a lot of people want too help tyson
we should do somthing too get him in a one good fight get him trained in top shape then let him loose
Tyson did this to himself...firing Rooney and Cayton and returning to his thug lifestyle and going out like a quitter was something I never thought Tyson would do, I always thought he respected the sport and cared about it but maybe he doesn't. There are fans who believe in Tyson but the thing is Tyson doesn't believe in himself he hasn't since Douglas beat him and this is why we see this self destructive fighter
wasn't he just given a chance to get trained in top shape and to let loose on someone? what'd he do then?Quote:

Fuck off tone
they disrespect anyone who they dont like here...
Tyson was the best thing in boxing in and out of the ring for the last 20 years....
Fox news hates him..but cant stop talking about him!!
that 5mil he stole..he deserved it!
he worked hard at making people money, and giving us memories..
without a doubt, without tyson, we would have no holyfiel and no lennox great!
period.
Actually yk, we would have still had Lewis and Holyfield, just not the bad publicity of somebody biting ears off and threatening to eat people's children so I am not sure Tyson was the best thing for boxing at least in the last eight years or so.
Lucky
tysons record speaks for itself. and out of his 6 losses half of them have been in the last 3 years. hes a legend.
tyson was a decent fighter but a legend? unless being wacko qualifies him then he is no legend.
I personally think holyfield and lewis were as good or maybe better than tyson but in twenty years time ppl will be talking a lot more about tyson than the other two. It is true to that whether his actions were good or bad they gave boxing tons of exposure and publicity, that it would not hav had so i think he is a legend. Legends dont have to be nice guys!
tyson is a legend, people have just got to remember him when he was undefeated, undisputed, and practically invinsiblechamp, and not the washed up quiter who faught on saturday. i think he deserves to be recognised as a legend if people accross the world are having discussions like, ' who would win, Ali in his prime (recongised as the best), or Tyson in his prime?
of course he is a legend.

Tyson is the most overated fighter of all time. He feasted on the worst heavyweight division of all time. He doesn't make it into my all time top 20 of heavyweights. People always talk alot about remebering Tyson in the late eighties. So I decided to go back and look at his most impressive win against Spinks. Sadly all I saw was the same style I saw sat night. No defense, no patience and swinging for the fences every time. It is so sad that he didn't fight Holyfield, Lewis or Bowe early in his career so we wouldn't have to listen to this legend crap. What a chump
a prime tyson had great head movement, he didnt throw wild shots, they were short and accurate. He is a pressure fighter, he has patience he just fights with that style and overwhelms youQuote:

Vanchilds If you genuinely believe what you just said, cool :) , i also don't see the worth in other revered fighters. If not then why say it? "late eighties"? "early in his career"? As late as 89 lewis had fought 6 pro fights against typical opposition, if you'd put him in with the heavyweight champion then good luck to you! I have a lot of respect for Bowe, but he had about a dozen fights at a similar standard at that time, good luck to him too! Evander has the best chance in late 80s, was still fighting for Continental Americas title or whatever it's called in 89 and cruiserweight before that, and against a Tyson from 86 to 88/9 i'd pick Mike every time. Watch some more of fights before Spinks, i'm not explaining what the guy did in the ring to you if that's all the time you have for the guy, it's not exactly a hard task to sit through his 80s performances...
do one dimensional amateurs run through hall of famers in 91 seconds? huh? buddy?Quote:

do u think tyson would have beat holyfield if the fight took place in 1992?
some have doubted holyfield would have won if it had but i, although a tyson fan, beg to differ.
i think tyson would have given holyfield a better fight but i still think holyfield would have won.
dont forget, in 1992, holyfield would have been younger aswell.
i analysed holyfields style and wow, that guy is some great counterattacker.
he did this with bowe aswell. holyfield not only beat tyson with heart and guts but he beat him mostly with his technical abilites.
im a tyson fan but i will acknowledge his weaknesses aswell and will admit that he will meet opponents who can waste him. and holyfield is definately one of them.
some have said holyfield beat tyson only cos he was washed up but i dont agree.
holyfield KNEW how to beat him and proved it. :badass: :crowd: :bedromp: :army:
Some journalist once asked a variety of trainers including rooney, atlas, steward etc about training him and they all pretty much said if it was on their terms and Tyson behaved as their other fighters did then yes they would, even Atlas said that. And i wouldn't be so quick to place all the blame on King for the break up of that association, yeah he played a part but Tyson relationships with all authority figures in his life have been unsteady, even Cus.
if tyson is a one dimensional amateur then what does that make frazier? foreman? marciano? liston?
i suppose u want to rank foreman as one of the all time greats and label tyson as overhyped? that is quite a laugh. thanks for that mate.
no one in boxing history made the impact that tyson did. when he first appeard on the scene, he blew his opponents away in the first round. he did this for at least his first 10-13 fights.
all fighters want the ability to knock out their opponents as quickly as possible but very few can do it and do it with such style.
and when people disrespect tyson, it is simple jealousy. Their so called top 20 heavyweights cannot devastate an opponent like tyson can so start mocking him.
and i agree with old school, if u consider tyson overhyped, then the other heavyweight fighters in history is not even worth mentioning.
and whats all this rubbish about tyson beating fighters just because the heavyweight division wasnt so good back then? Ha!, they say that now just cos tysons career has taken a dramatic drop but they werent so cocky back then.
in the 80's, spinks was supposed to give tyson a hard time due to his experience. whoomfppph!! ko'd in the 1st.
biggs was supposed to trouble tyson due to his height and experience. pow!!!! ko'd ij the 7th and sent to planet mars.
ruddock was the number 2 contender and ko'd in the 7th. although premature i agree but he was in trouble and knocked down twice.
people were so eager to see tyson back then, gasping in awe at his power and exciting fighting style. But as soon as hes beat by douglas and holyfield, they start giving him a hard time. saying hes overhyped, was beaten by better opponents.
i'll tell u one thing, i respect holyfield but he only became more famous cos he beat tyson.
douglas, became a superstar cos he beat tyson.
lewis wanted to beat tyson cos he knew that would be the only way people would pay any attention to him.
tyson on the other hand, was feared and got the publics attention from his first 4-5 fights fighting nobodys.
boxers become famous only if they beat tyson.
tyson doesnt need anyone to make him famous.
so all u who say that tyson doesnt belong in your top 20 list, think befoer u speak cos  that really is an embarrassing statement.
He really didn't have time to get in the rhythm, no? ;DQuote:
