Mora won't beat Forrest...
Who here honestly thinks that even in Forrest's advancing age(37) that the spotty fighting mora will be able to crack him...
Althought the ten year difference from what I've seen of late Mora wasn't even a flash in the pan... He was a spark in the pan....
Peter Manfredo, a clearly limited and ordinary fighter beat Mora in their rematch...(I don't care what the judges say)
Vernon has gone on record saying that from here on in he will be on the Attack...
Yeah Mayorga beat Forrest 6 fights ago but Mora is no Mayorga and with 5 KOs to his credit Forrest won't have to worry about making a mistake cuz he sure won't be afraid of even a lucky haymaker... That'll probably just piss him off.
Vernon by late KO or clean UD

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
Mora is gonna be running once he tastes some power shot's. I can't wait to see Forrest beat him up. I personally may stop watching boxing if Mora wins....that would crush me.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
I'm actually hoping Mora wins, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm pretty sure Forrest is going to stop him.
Mora has been handled so incredibly poorly by those running his career. When he won the Contender, he was a decent prospect, but his inactivity combined with his questionable opposition has served to derail what could have been a very promising career.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
To many things going against Mora.
Rust/inactive.
Fights in spurts.
First time @ 154
No power
No real experience.
I hope he does not look as bad as Gomez did against Cotto or as bad as ManFraudo did against Calzlappy.
;D
Because both fighters had to be saved by the ref :o

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
I can't decide who to root for?
Forrest will most likely win it, although I haven't been as blown away by him in his last two fights as some have been.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
I'm not even sure if mora thinks he can win, i see forrest having absolutly no problem beating mora. How i'm not sure but if mora wins one or two rounds i'd be surprised.

This doesn't mean I wont be rooting for Mora because I will. I hope he can prove us all wrong. I think Mora is going to be doing plenty of holding in this fight too. ;D
I like Mora but, as CFH said earlier, the contender people do not know shit about handling a career, I mean 5 fights in 3 years? Since he wont that tournament? OMG! This is horrible!

GET ME SOME OIL!
;D

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
I'm just hoping Mora runs out of the ring in a hissy fit again. I hope Vernon cracks this boy.

I just don't like either really. I might root for Mora just cause everybody hates him so much and it would piss people off if he won.

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
CFH and Danny G, I spared you bad rep because I know your just bullshitting right? You don't actually like Mora...good one though you had me for a second.

If liking an unpopular fighter is worthy of bad rep, then send some my way. I'm not going to lie and say I don't like someone just because everyone else feels differently.

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
In this case yes it is. I think a week long ban may be in order. ;D F Mora he is a punk ass.

A week-long ban would probably do me some good. I might actually leave the house...

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
I really didnt see Forrest fighting long time , but lets see if with his 37 years , he can make a good presentation , i bet him by UD......
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
This will be a massacre if you ask me. I was reading the interview with Mora on the front page and the guy who did the interview mentioned something about Forrest looking to make a statement from here on out.
If that is true Mora might not only lose the fight but end up in retirement. I guess the fact Mora hits like a feather duster does not improve his chances.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
Sergio fought at 154 when he beat Ishe Smith right? But besides that his first fight at 154 if the weight doesnt effect him I'll give him a shot
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
Mora's going to win, easy pick.

LOL, admire the moxie I suppose. But surely your joking? What could possibly make Mora an easy pick.. He looked very ordinary in his last fight.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
Didnt he knock thwe ref out in his last fight...lol that was a joke stoppage if I remebered, and his homcooking draw against Ayala yeah..all signs point to a mora win...I think he realized he needs to cash in befroe he's exposed, and btw f Mora. ;D

Forrest is too old, too slow, and not daring enough to take the rounds.
Mora has one last chance, his skills are above average, ...
... younger, faster.
Mora has the ability to make Forrest look like an old dinosaur. heh
I have no clue why Forrest is the clear favorite.
If I were a Mora fan, which I'm not, I'd bet on this one.

This is also Mora's first 12 round fight, we don't know if he'll have anything left in the championship rounds.

Sorry guys, I've given up on Forrest long ago.
It's a clear choice IMO, heh. Mora via decision.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
You gave up on him for fighting with a shoulder injury and almost still beating Mayorga? I can't wait til Forrest get''s his revenge on "El Matador".
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
You know what, on second thought, I'll sig bet anyone on this thread, on this fight. :)
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
If your picking Mora I have to take that bet, even if this is the year of the upset. ;D

If you are a glutten for punishment I will bet you a large some of rep which can be arranged......
If Mora was worth a damn, he wouldn't have been on contender.

In boxing, nothing is set in stone.
But this fight shouldn't be in favor of Forrest by such a large margin.
Yes Mora's on the contender... heheh Yes that can be bad.
I'll bet yah. How's this going to work, you got so much more rep power than me.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
How many reps # do you have? I will bet the entire number of what you have. Or less than that if you don't want to cover.

I'm off of here a few hours and the rediculousness comes out to play... What in Mora's skill set makes you think he can beat even a 37 year old forrest... He showed that he's on the same level as Manfredo and as much as I like him is NOT on the world level...
What was it in his skill set that set the hook for you...?
Was it his brash swagger walking into the ring only to be drawn against by a C level fighter?
Was it his ability to fight in spots and never fight 3 minuts per round?
Was it the fact he's not used to fighting at 154(except once a while back) and didn't even take a fight at '54 prior to jumping into a fight against a vastly more experienced opponant?
...or was it the fact that he couldn't knock out a drunk retard after bedtime?
... I'm just wondering.
Thanks

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
Mora's going to get smashed, I'm pretty confident of that.
-
Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
Vernon Forrest has been more studly lately. Dare I say it, I almost like him. He's dropped the punch 'n clinch action for a more pleasing style and I think he'll continue that on Mora's face. And Sergio isn't exactly garbage heap. I think the Contender series was at 154, so he's been there. Mora is fast and he doesn't wilt under pressure. Forrest is going to have to pop him a good few times to get a KO. Otherwise, I think the Latin Snake has just enough in him to lose on his feet.

As far as Mora being a garbage heap... no. But what I said about him is true...
He is a spotty fighter that when on his game is a decent fighter... He doesn't nessesarily "wilt" under presure but Elvin gave him a run for his money... And he shouldn't have. If he had trouble with that presure what's Forrest gonna do with him?
And as far as Mora is fast? I'll fix that for you... Mora CAN be fast... He Can be...
But I agree this may not nessesarily be a KO bbut he won't win. Keep your eyes open for a KO around the 9th though.:boxing2:

Is this the same Mora who needed a gift to get a draw against Elvin Ayala and barely squeaked by Peter Manfredo? This might not be the same Vernon Forrest who beat Shane Mosely, but I can promise Mora has never been in with a guy who hits as hard as Forrest, and Mora gets hit. A lot. This could be over sooner than Cotto/Gomez and nearly as brutal.

Vernon was just getting PISSED at the thought of an upset... He reamed more then a few people that said it was even possible... He's going to smoke Mora:puncher:

Re: Mora won't beat Forrest...
I wish you all would quit negative repping gyrokai because he won't have as many reps on the table to lose to me.
