Holyfield has major money problems
Im not sure if anyone knew this but holys really hurting.

Evander Holyfield is in Serious Financial Trouble - Boxing News

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
Holyfield, who is a multi-millionaire, isn't making any new money, so he has to stop living like a multi-millionaire and start living like a regular millionaire.
Bill Detlof wrote about this before. How the way Evander lives, he will never be able to sustain his wealth.

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
This would go a long way to explaining the comeback attempt

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
I know this sounds rude, but i can't feel sorry for anyone who's had that much money and blown it for whatever reason.

Yea I completely agree. Especially when it's a fighter, who should realize the classic downfall of great fighters once they piss everything away and can't fight anymore.

This report says he has eleven kids.
Evander Holyfield behind in child support | ajc.com
How do you blow nine figures?
I have no sympathy for him.

He got a GOOD deal on child support...
over $100 million life time earnings and all he has to pay out is $3,000 a month to support one of his children and it's mother...$36000 a year...guy's with $100,000 incomes pay that much in child support.
Evander must've wasted all that money on lawyers so he wouldnt have to pay quality child support money.
For real, time to downgrade from living like a King to living like a millionaire..how hard is that?

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
Saw his house on a tv show it was massive, he should down size like anybody else :). Damn shame, he was always tight with his money as well.
-
Re: Holyfield has major money problems
yea ur right......i forgot he actually has freakin 2 kids with his wife so i guess i didnt even read the whole article ....
did he like say that he was coming out of retirement not for the money but to make history
a lie? after one year

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
It seems very few people can live within their means. ANYONE that makes over $100k has no excuse for not having some sort of passive income, be it rental property, a small business or conservative invesments in bonds and CDs. I can't feel sorry for Holyfield, I appreciate what he's done in the ring, but he's been very irresponsible out of it, just having that many kids to begin with and then not having a financial plan is just ludicrous.

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
I heard or read once he lost 13 million dollars one night in a casino but won it all back the next night. Now if you use the casino regularly theres only one winner. The casino.

Re: Holyfield has major money problems

Is it really that hard to put a few million in the bank and let the interest grow?

A devout Christian with what, 6, 7 children out of wedlock?? Least I think he was married when he had all those kids with all different women.. I mean how hypocritical can you get. Just goes to show what you believe is nowhere near as important as how you live. Don't want to turn it into some religious debate, but I think Holyfield is just too dumb to think for himself in many ways and blindly follows, "the will of god", which is really the will to do whatever he wants and then think he'll have eternal hapiness in the afterlife because he BELIEVES. Commonplace these days though.

You could see Holyfield's money problems coming a mile away

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
I personally never understood why athletes or celebrities who have all these millions upon millions of dollars insist on living so lavish a lifestyle. I can understand when you first start out and you are just getting used to being able to afford what ever your heart desires and going on binges but after a while enough is enough.
Common sense tells you not to live in a house that has taxes higher then your yearly bank interest. Common sense would tell you to have other business venues to keep your wealth sustained. If those ventures are not working out cut some corners. Try the Corvette instead of the $500,000 Ferrari. I promise no one will make fun of you.
Like other posters have said already. I can not sympathize with someone who carelessly lets that much money be blown foolishly.

Haha well sure, and I don't hate Holyfield or any boxer for that matter, far from it.. It's just I don't like to see him receive praise for being a devout Christian as if it's supposed to reflect anything about him other than what he may personally believe, rather than his actions or lifestyle. I'm not religious at all but I'd never dream of having children I wouldn't want anything to do with, much less while married the whole time:rolleyes:..

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
Very sad cuz the guy is one of my all time favourites but the lesson has to be learnt that if you put it around when you are younger, you pay for it when you are older.

Re: Holyfield has major money problems
This is on CNN now, Holyfield. Poor Ed McMahon was on last night complaining too.
Boo hoo hoo.
You both done pissed away your fortunes and have to move out of your castles.

Having ones ass murdered and shot on a constant basis would be very upsetting I would imagine. Must be what makes them so tough.
