well
you do realise its a football stadium, that particular boxing event was put on there because it was home of rickys beloved manchester city. Other than that it will never be used to host a boxing event.
David Haye only has to catch a 20minute bus to get to wembley stadium which can hold 90,000, emirate stadium which can hold 60,000, the excel/02 arena/london arena are all frequently used to hold boxing contests and can each hold between 10-15,000

If that part of the thread is that important to you I can move it to Wembley.

id prefer somewhere more realistic like excel or o2 arena.
It takes a special kind of fighter to sell out an arena - haye would struggle to fill the bottom section of wembley stadium!!

pavlik-calzaghe - yes please
valero-guzman - oh god yes!!
campbell-casa - no thanks, would be a major let down for the fans and would result in a scrappy fight
wright-de la hoya - ODLH wants one last "superfight" before calling it a day. He`ll have his eyes on bigger fish than winky.
Re: Fights that aren't official but need to happen in 2008
Froch-Kessler
Abraham-Pavlik
Wlad-Haye
Cotto-Mayweather ( wont happen though )
Hatton-Torres or Bradley, more exciting than a PM fight IMO
De la Hoya-Mosley or Wright?
Moore-Mora
Williams-Cotto or Margarito
Berto-Judah
Re: Fights that aren't official but need to happen in 2008
Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis;
Official or not this could be fight of the year.
Juanma Lopez vs. Rafael Marquez;
Let's see howe the Puerto Rican Prince handles relentless aggression.
Sugar Shane Mosely vs. Paul Williams;
Just to see the Sugar man back in the Title Race.
Ricky Hatton vs. Ricardo Torres;
Torres would be the greatest physical test for Hatton at 140
Israel Vasquez vs. Jorge Arce:
I want Arce eating lollipop through a tube
Miguel Cotto vs. Tony Margarito;
I cannot wait!

Id need to see more of lopez before i could judge whether he is ready for someone like marquez.
Mosley-williams could definetely work, though id still much rather see sugar shane beat up zab.
Hatton-torres would be a cracker of a fight for however long it lasts. Torres certainly won die wondering if they ever met.
Cant comment too much on this arce guy as ive never seen him in action.
cotto-maragarito - 47 days, 11 hours, 32 minutes and counting
:excited:

I'm the same.
I absolutley adore Mosely as a fighter and just want to see him in action!
Thats why I want to see Juanma with Rafael, it would be the ultimate test of his prowess and nobody would know what to expect from Juanma entering the bout.
Hatton should definitely fight Torres, he's so dangerous and would be a huge scalp for Hatton
Arce is a very very good boxer, but to my mind he's no IZZY.
Re: Fights that aren't official but need to happen in 2008
Arce - Vazquez? Ok and I want Zahir Raheem to face Oscar De La Hoya. These aren't for 2008 all of them.
Joan Guzman - Manny Pacquiao
Andre Ward - Allan Green
Aaron Williams - Jose Luis Herrera II
Steve Cunningham - Tomasz Adamek
John Ruiz - Toney/Rahman winner
Re: Fights that aren't official but need to happen in 2008
Even though I'm the only Zsolt Erdei fan here doesn't mean that this would be a bad or boring fight...
Erdei - Dawson
...

Before his last fight Erdei stated that he really wants to fight "big names",but that his management would hold him back...that caused some strife between him and his promotor/manager(never really understood the difference...) and Erdei backpedaled after that saying that he owe them alot and at least they tried to get Danny Green,but you know the rest...
I really think Erdei is an exceptional boxer and that its a shame to waste his talent fighting only average guys...
Re: Fights that aren't official but need to happen in 2008
The fight between Oscar vs Cotto in the end of the Year........;D
Although , i agree with Donny Juanma vs Rafael Marquez , before Israel Vazquez............;D
