:shakehead:
Dude you should seriously step over to the Ask the Trainer board and ask for help on technique. I am not trying to insult you here, but there are some very excellent folks there that could improve your game by leaps and bounds if you could be humble enough to listen.
Not much
Everything
Some serious power in those guns!:o
Ok bro, theres a laundry list here, the dog needs to be walked, dinner needs to be cooked, the gym needs to be open, when I get a chance,me and Feur will walk down what your doing wrong.
Ill start with this, both hands up in defense, your blind as a bat,Id tear your ribs up
Unless your fighting a really bad boxing dwarf it's hard to tell ;D
You have many things to work on, try the trainer section there are some amazing posters there. They know their shit.
I'm not taking the piss by the way I admire you for asking and having the balls to post a video. Good luck in your next fight fella
He's got to know this ain't the place. Have tried to tell him as others have to maybe quit with the vids, and especially in here. We do have a training section, although I'm sure I don't want to see it full of Hartley/Zelenoff vids. Now I feel foolish...
Next problem, you overthrow the right,,your too far out of round and dont retract fast enough
Andrew,
Don't know if you remember me but my names CutMeMick...
Here's my suggestion to you. Anytime you want to talk about your boxing and your training and techniques. I would STRONGLY suggest you post those topics in the "Ask The Trainer" board as I feel you will get a better response there. From people who will truely help you.
If you want to post topics about boxing in general like about a fighter or an up and coming fight you can do that in the "Boxing Talk" board.
If you are serious about your training and really want advice I trust that the fellas on the Ask The Trainer board will gladly help you out.
:)
lol one rip outta all the posts aint bad TM. its progress.
well anyways..Thunder you dont got a trainer??
Does your trainer hold the pads like a personal trainer (ie crossing over)? as your jab and cross should be aiming at the same point. But at least in this vid you seem to be focussing on technique rather than going all out with wild punches like that last fight, good on you.
I need to see your feet, I can't see them but judging by the way your upper body moves they're wrong. Looks like you're flat footed and you've got no bounce at the knees, as far as I can see everything is coming from the top of your body.
Where's your target? You're Jabbing one way and crossing another.
The path of your right cross is all wrong to, it's called a cross but you don't literally punch right across your self.
To the best of my knowledge, he has no trainer, has never formally trained, and has never fought as an amateur. Decided to go pro one day and signed himself up and here is the obvious results.
I wouldn't mind seeing Andrew get training. As in, walk his ass into a gym there 3 + times a week for something other then making a tape for youtube. Not only do I think it will help with some technique, but I think it will help him gain some respect for the sport.
But you are here now Andrew, so let us see if you are sincere about wanting help, or just wanting to promote more of the same thing that got you talked about for what I think are the wrong reasons in boxing.
Ball is in your court.
Ok since you asked
I sat down with Feur(A former Toughman champ) and we itemized
1. The hook is too tight and over reaching...not a proper hook...will not deliver power and will put you off balance.
2. The jabs are too slow and are not doubled up enough. None of the jabs are being committed to.
3. The shoulders are hunched up and too tight. This saps your power and energy.
4. Your hand positioning is restricting your ability to see your opponent. It also leaves you vulnerable to the upper cut.
5. You were getting into too much of a rhythm which will enable your opponent to easily time you out.
6. I only saw jab jab hook over and over again for the most part. You need to develop a better library of combinations. I did not see a single cross or upper cut...make sure that you work these into your combinations.
7. You show no interest in going to the body at all.
8. Your bob and weave is too slow and easily timed out by an opponent.
9. The elbow blocks leave your ribs open and inhibit your ability to see your opponent even more...especially the way you turn your head with the block.
10. We both saw some hammer blows in your shadow boxing routine...these are not legal and refs are good at spotting them and calling you on them.
11. Get up on your toes more.
I've seen footage of Hartley sparring in Gyms, he's had like 14 pro fights or something... all but 2 of them losses but 14 pro fights at the end of the day.
I think you're confusing him with Zelenoff... :) he's literally only lost to Hartley and that is it... no real training, no previous fights etc
Hartley seems to have put a bit more work in than Zelenoff (can't say how much) he just doesn't seem extremely talented... but hey... he's in the right place... if he listens and works at it he can improve, the same as any one else.
lol - I may have inadvertantly described Zelenoff too.
But seriously, Andrew has no amateur. I read where he said had no prior training. He has no trainer now, unless he got one in the last week or so. And I believe any of the vids in the gym were at slugout where he sorta showed up to make them for youtube. Unless he has fibbed somewhere.
So basically if what he says is true, yea...14 pro fights and essentially zero training.
I've seen Andrew in here since it got moved. Wondering if he heeded any advice or is just looking to create more shit-talking.
I should explain something
A double hand up guard is designed for a shorter opponent to close space by bobbing and weaving in
If your upright, dont throw a body hook, and bob and weave at half the speed of smell, your going to get killed trying that
Go back and watch the video, and tell me this kid doesnt deserve his record. He's young enough to fix,but as Youngblood says,he's going to have to want it
You look like a cardboard box
Andrew,
I'm not a veteran of the sport nor a decorated trainer. I'm a basic boxer.
But it's the basics that lay the foundations for greater things. Ignore anything flashy or "devastating" stick to the simple stuff "Jab-Cross-hook" then move on.
Step by Step.
Take your time.
HmD.
