Anyone else watching the US open?
Just one hopped in a chip from off the green in an awkward lay. Sick. Plus an earlier eagle putt from a ridiculous shot wayyy off the fairway. Not a bad way to come off of surgery. 1 off the lead teeing off on 18.

Ain't watchin' it but sounds like he's doin' good. :)
Golf bores me to tears when I watch it and fills me with bloodthirsty rage when I play it.
Tiger is amazing though, even I know that.
Wow!
Well you'll see it on the sports highlights tonight. He just eagled the 18th with another amazing putt. And thing is, he is hurt. Can barely walk properly.
not much of a golf fan here but i like mike weir
I am a fan of Tiger Woods. A very accomplished young man.
I'm not a big fan of golf but I did watch a lot of it yesterday and he really is amazing. That first eagle putt was ridiculous and at the same time didn't seem lucky. The chip was luck, even he admitted that but the putts were amazing.
I'm not much of a golf fan but follow the Majors.. I like to bet a few quid for fun.
Woods mental attitude is what makes all great winners great.
He was a generous 3/1 for this comp
Golf fans are so fucking silly.
What goes into somebody's mind to think I should scream "you're the man", or "get into the hole" after every shot. Its the silliest thing I've ever seen. There was one hole that was like 300 yards long and Tiger decided to lay up, so he took out an iron, I am no golf expert but I know you can't hit the ball 300 plus yards with an iron, that if you get an iron there you're obviously laying up yet some genius inevitably screamed out "get in the hole" right after he took the shot. I don't get it. Go home and go to sleep.
lol - Golf is a great sport (I suck at it), but it is awesome to play.
It's fun to watch too, if ya got nothing better to do and like to watch Tiger work. Making the hard seem easy, the ridiculously hard look ordinary, and somehow still managing to take it to an even higher level.
I appreciate greatness, and that is exactly what Tiger Woods exemplifies for golf, and for sports in general.
The fans, well, I am sure many could find quirks with us and say how silly boxing is. To each their own, I spose.
Oh, and the US Open finished tied today, after Tiger made a clutch 14 foot birdie on the 18th hole to force a playoff tomorrow against Rocco Mediate. As far as excitement goes in golf, it doesn't get a whole lot better then what we witnessed yesterday from Tiger, and once again on the 18th today.
Playoff is 18 holes tomorrow.
Oh I love to play golf, I don't do it often but I like it a lot. And I watched most of the tournament today, although I never watch non-major tournaments.
So I am technically a golf fan so "golf fans are stupid" is a bit too broad but I stand by the statement that "you the man" golf fans are an embarrassment to humanity.
15ft birdie putt.
"Get in the hole" is the most annoying fan call in all sports, surely. :beat:
Tiger's birdie at the 18th was truely awesome
Ive never had a 100/1 winner on a single pick (plenty of big price mulitilpes).. Quite a few 50/1 horses, 33/1 dart and snooker players though
I was lucky to have one 100/1 shot once.
I said Lee would KO some guy before 7 and Dunne Ko'ed in the same night.
I like the 18 hole playoff format, and it is always to Tigers advantage to do this in a Headsups playoff. Although today I am not sure. Being that Tiger is hurt and Mediate appears to be in the zone, I really think it is a toss up here...and maybe even favoring Mediate. But Tiger is the man. Going to be fun to watch. :)
As much as people are saying this is over, Rocco played better than him yesterday and has been extremely consistent. I wouldn't totally count him out.
Game on. Tiger off to 1 stroke lead. Mediate almost holes the 3rd par 3 as Tiger gets plugged in a bunker. Bogie Tiger, Birdie Mediate.
Mediate now a 1 stroke lead.
i am one of those guys who yells get in the hole.
how can you not? its hilarious to me everytime.
but i dont watch golf on tv I just play Tiger Woods for ps3
Tiger 1 shot lead with 5 to go. Anyone's match...
What...a...match.
After 18 holes, Mediate is in the lead by 1. Tiger makes a birdie to go sudden death.
Final outcome, Tiger Woods wins the US Open and wins his 14th Major.
Great play by Rocco Mediate in a see saw back and forth battle that saw him fall just a little short of the greatest player now, and most likely ever in the game of golf.
Signing out from Torrey Pines and the U.S. Open Gold Championship, I am youngblood, and now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
:p
Bit unlucky for Rocco that they started the sudden death on a hole that really wasn't suited for him. If they had started on a par 3 who knows
That was exciting, gave me something to do during the afternoon on my day off.
At least Rocco didn't fold up, Tiger won cause he was just better.
That was insane... Although Woods shouldn't have had to struggle that much for the win IMO.
But hey! a win is a win and that's matters in the end.
Watched the whole playoff. Was at my grandpas and PGE was doing some work down the road and for months in advance they said that the power would be out from 1-1:30 as they did some work. They went to the green at 18 at exactly 1 PM my time but luckily they didn't shut it off until right after Mediate missed that long putt and it was going to a 19th hole. It came back right when Tiger dropped to his knee I thought he messed up bad but I guess since Mediate missed his next one it didn't matter.
Great great television.
