Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Hi they british boxing fans!Prizfighter winner Martin Rogan is set to fight Audley Harrison in a ten rounder on the 19 july at the Aston Villa Event Centre in Birmingham.I have lost all hope of Harrison in the last couple of years. He has let himself and u.k fans down so many times. He's had ample of opportunaties to do great things in the heavyweight division but has failed. This fight is make or break it for him. There his words, not my!!!Im still watching this fight though.I think Logan deserved to win the PRIZEFIGHTER tournament. He did well to win the top prize of £20,000.I feel this could still be a good slug fest,"Not exactly a clean fight!"nevertheless i feel Rogan will give a really good go at Harrison.
what do you guys think of the fight and who do you think will win the fight??Thanks!;)

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Wats up yvonne. Good to see you around. I'm looking forward to this actually. Rogan will come to fight as this is his big chance. Audley looked nervous in his last fight and I wonder what his approach will be? the good thing about this fight is it really is a must win for both as whoever loses their careers are pretty much over. Should be pretty decent. I'm picking Audley by late stoppage due to experience and the fact Rogan is inexperienced when it comes to the latter rounds.
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Pretty much think same as you Lee. I think Rogan will really go at Audley and possibly could dominate for a couple of rounds.
However i think Audley will cover up and the rough, tough guy from Ireland will tire and get stopped late.
Would laugh if Rogan won though.

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
The biggest problem that I can see, and have pretty much always seen with Harrison, is that though he's a big guy with a reach advantage on many, he can't seem to make it count. He's always been too tentative with his jab, and smaller fighters with any resemblance of class can get inside and work him way too easy.
In this one, if Rogan treats it like a shorter fight, he could get Harrison out of there sharpish. Harrison says he's been working a lot on his jab, but I'll believe it when I see it. I think if Rogan roughs upHarrison like he did to Dolan, Rogie should win by stoppage.
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
I like Rogan but the comp flattered him a bit, was taylor made for him.
Audley will pick and poke at him until he's ready for the taking and then tell us how he'll be undisputed by the end of next week.
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Audley destroys Rogan.
There is litle debate or discussion needed. Rogan has worked very hard to get where he is ; the winner of prizefighter. Excuse me for being underwhelmed.
Audley on the other hand hasn't worked at all to get where he is. So Audley with minimal effort should beat Rogan with ease.

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
I still maybe think if harrisons head isn't right and rogan gets at it him straightaway like a bull in a china shop he could beat him (and in a way I sort of hope that happens) but i reckon harrison will probably win, late stoppage, maybe even points. Think i'm gonna go to this fight (as i dont live too far from birmingham) as enzo's topping the bill too, wouldn't go for audley harrison!!

Good point on Harrison getting caught out cold in the early rounds.Theres a really good possibility of that happening especially coming from Rogan, after all he'll be really up for this one and he'll want to win this one for sure.I think he has a really good chance to do so!I mean remember the Sprott Vs Harrison fight a while ago!!!Sprott was a clear underdog by miles(Bookmarkers had him 6-1 for a straight win)due to the fact that he was a lot lighter in weight as well as being a foot or so smaller than Harrison. But look what happened when he caught Harrison cold with a hook in the 2nd.....Harrison hit the deck and never recovered and made me £60 up;D.
I think this will be a good slug and an entertaining fight to watch. With it being soo crucial for each one of them to win,it should end up like watching two bulls locking horns.Rogan will be up for this one.:)

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Rogan doesn't have the hand speed (well speed in general) or power to KO Audley.
Fat John McD could have won "prizefighter". Even Pele Reid. Butterbean would have pissied it.
Audley will KO him.

I reckon Rogan has the power to down him in the early rounds. After all he put my man("Young Favorite",Dolan)down twice in the final of the Prizefighter comp.Im backing Rogan at the bookmakers!!!!!Show me the money!!!!;D

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
I don't see anyway Rogan will win the fight.
Audley's level of comp is light-years better. Audley's ability is light-years better (thats going over the top, i know). And as I said, I don't think he has the ability to score a KO.
Rogan is basically a 37 year-old, ten fight, part-time novice.

Rogan has been calling out the likes of Timlin, Belshaw and Perez prior to this. They are all virtual beginners and goes to show how out of his depth Rogan is.
He's cashing in as he always desired, he has no actual hunger for the sport, just money.

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Boxer beats street fighter at boxing.:)
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Rogan is raw as fuck and hes an animal. I would not be surprised at all if he knocks audley out early. I saw Rogan throw more punches in one fight in 3 rounds, than audley has thrown in his career.
Rogan KO for me. Im sticking to that as well.

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
I think Rogan takes this and its not cuz Audley was K.o'd by Sprott or that cuz I think Rogan is a good fighter . . .
Its cuz In Audleys last fight vs that nobody he showed that even with very little resistance infront of him he will not fight back . He will go into his shell vs Rogan no doubt . We know what to expect from the Irish guy Audley though will not box teh way a gold medallist should and will be stopped . Im pretty certain .

Theres no dought that Rogan will be the underdog in this fight. At the end of the day Rogan has nothing to lose really and he'll just go for it "Tooth n Nail".Im going to back Rogan at the Bookmakers soon as soon as the odds are made on the fight.I've lost sooooo much hope in Harrison.I mean he has the Tools but he just does'nt have the heart and determination and the aggression to finish off a fight!

Yeah I gave up hope a while back but he showed 1 glimpse of hope when he beat Danny in 3 rounds. Nobody has ever done on Danny that quickly including Tyson and Klitscko and Williams has had some good wins since.. So maybe just maybe Audley may have abit more than we think . . . or am I being too optimistic ?

YEAH I REMEMBER THAT FIGHT A COUPLE OF YEARS BACK.HARRISON LOOKED AND FOUGHT LIKE A RAGING ANIMAL.HE LOOKED THE BUISNESS,BUT WHY WONT HE KEEP SHOWING THAT AGGRESSION ANY MORE!I'VE ONLY SEEM HIM IN THAT MODE ONCE AND HE EALLY FIGHT GOOD AND DELIVERS GREAT POWER WHEN HE GET AGGRESSION OUT.BUT HE HAS NEVER SHOWN THAT MODE FOR AGES NOW!WILL WE SEE IT AGAIN SOON??I WOULD'NT HOLD YER BREATH!!!:-X........:-X..........:cwm25:

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
I think Rogan will do him in the first 2 rounds easily have people forgotten Audleys non existent punch resistance.
Enzo Mac (according to Enzo Calzaghe - yesterday on Steve Bunces Boxing hour) is fighting on the same bill;)

Yeah im looking forward to this night of fighting, with it being Enzo first fight since Haye took him down in March.I believe Enzo Mac is really hungy and more than ready to blitz the Cruiserweight division this time round.I think he'll do just that on the night!Im definatley betting on Rogan to beat Harrison on a streight win as well as naming and betting on a round K.O.Im thinking he could K.O harrison in between 4-7th rounds.I dont know what the odds are yet but i'll find them soon though!Should be a interesting night on both fights!

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
I think people are giving Rogan way too much credit here. If it was a 3 round slugout like the contest Rogan won he might make it interesting. If Audley came out guns blazing like he did against Sprott that MIGHT open up a window of opportunity for Rogan.
None of the above are happening. Audleys going to make it a cuddle fest for a few rounds and then take him apart.
Then and only then will he be ready for Wlad ;)
Is Rogans toughguy title up for grabs? That would make Audley a double champion.

Sorry Memph, I know you know your stuff...but I think this is yet another instance where it is indeed Harrison is getting too much credit....and on this rare occasion, it isn't himself giving the credit. No jab + poor chin + poor resilience all adds up to a Rogan KO in my book.
Fancy a sig bet on it? I'd happily bear a "Audley Harrison - Unified World Champion in Waiting" on my sig for a week if you think he'll win. ;)
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Sure mate.
Sig bet it is............but I can do better than that ;)
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Anyone no the earlier odds on this fight? If Rogan is a big underdog then it would be worth putting a few quid on him.
Rogan has the heart and will to take Harrison to the trenches - it's whether Harrison has the heart and chin to get out of them intact

Have you been along to the Gym were he is tuning up at??I think he has a good enough chance of causing a upset on Harrison.I mean he has nothing to lose and everthing to gain!!He'll go hell for leather i think!;D
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan

Really?!!!:scratchchin:Hmmmm sounds good that mate.Im going to get the odds if i can sometime this week.I tryed to get the odds of this fight in my local earlier last week, but it's too early yet!!He sounds up for it like!!;D
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Iam picking Harrison by late stoppage or a UD.As long as Harrison doesnt leave his chin out in the early rounds i think he will slowly brake Rogan down.
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
I cant wait for this!!Rogan will give everything. He has nothing to lose and everthing to gain!!!!Good slug fest!!:D
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Sorry folks, but this fight has now been called off to a futher date, due to the fact that Warren pulled the plug because Setanta would'nt show Harrison's 2000 Olympic win which Warren planned to be shown on Setanta just before the fight with ROGAN!!!!!!Warran has spat out his dummy again:rolleyes::eek::eek:

Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
oh FFS thats bullshit
was looking forward to seeing harrison get embarrassed AGAIN by the prize fighter!!
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Really disappointed to hear that, was looking forward to it, but the non-naming of an opponent for Maccarinelli was also starting to raise doubts in my mind. Flippin typical of Warren, Rogan was a little too much of a threat to his boy....maybe baller27 might be available for a fight with Fraudley?
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Martin rang me Thursday He is pissed off, was in the best shape of his life and spent a lot on preparation, shame.
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Just a bump to let you know this fight has been added to the amir khan, alex arthur/nicky cook bill. This looks a decent bill am contemplating going upto manchester for it, the trouble is with the big shows i worry about what view i'll get, cant really afford to pay for the best seats, mid-range prices at best.
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Auldyey will trip on canvas rope on way in a KO himself then retire then never be in boxin gain.
good ridance crappy pants
-
Re: Audley Harrison Vs Martin Rogan
Yeah that is a good bill.
Still no TV station reported though.
