Kessler vs. Sartison - Kessler by KO in the 12th
After five rounds Kessler is ahead by 5 points imo - 3 clear rounds and 2 close - in the 1th round Kessler was hard hit by a short effective right hook by the german that slowed Kessler down for some seconds. The german has a very good right hook.
It is not the last we hear from this german boxer even he may lose tonight.
I think that the german might have won the 7th round - he was accurate and Kessler was very inactive?......
Kessler is winning the 8th round but he has slowed down very much - it looks like the german terrier is getting back into the fight.
Now in the 9th Kessler is in total control again - the german looks very tired and has no response to Kessler's jab and straight right
Sartison is down in the 11th round but he is up again - what a heart....he has.
Kessler stops Sartison in the 12th - good fight for Kessler but I feel a little sorry for the german - he fought like a terrier and had both skills and heart

Re: Kessler vs. Sartison Live - Sartison is not bad
Kess has completely dominated him the whole fight.
I like what I see from Kess and I also like the fight going the distance rather then just getting a quick TKO.
job well done Kess. :appl:

Re: Kessler vs. Sartison - Kessler by KO in the 12th
What a finish by Kess...
Like I said I liked that the fight went the distance.
Kess had a live one in there tonight and Sartison showed a lot of heart in there.
Really proud of my boy Kess and it's great to see him back.
Who's next?

No, I didn't see it on that NBA.live site...
I saw through another site.

Re: Kessler vs. Sartison - Kessler by KO in the 12th
Wow Kessler is now the International House of Pancakes "regular" champion. He has really proven something today. Unlike that cowardly Arthur Abraham who is in Florida fighting some jobber from colombia. ;)

Come on lance..
No ones claiming Kess is the greatest.
It's just a comeback fight for him. It was good to see him fight and get his feet wet again.
I'm a huge Kess fan and even I was disappointed that he didn't fight Miranda but after all it's his life in that ring not mine or yours.
You don't have to like him, and you could be against what he did.
But prior to that he took on all comers and anyone who challenged him.
He got Joe in the ring with him and that speaks volumes.
I'm sure the Kess of old will be back. Watch... :)

I really do not get all this MIRANDA hype - what has he done so far? Never beat a world-class opponent but has been beaten both times he fought one. It reminds me very much of the Jeff LacyMania, which most of this boards members went on.
If Sartison fought Pantera in the States I would back Edison by 55-45 but Sartison by 65-35 if they fought in Europe.
Miranda would imo not last 11 rounds with Kessler and is not near to have the same boxing skills as Sartison - but he has more power but a much weaker chin.

So Sartison put up a brave effort ?!?Did his stock rise after his performance ?!?

Well JohnnyBoy,
My answer is yes & no.
Yes, to those who were lucky enough to see it being that it wasn't televised internationally. He fought valiently tho I think he was out of his natural weight class. But this performance clearly shows he's got heart.
No, because the fight wasn't televised internationally and I think the amount of people who saw it was limited.

He has very good boxing skills and even better heart - but compared to Kessler his frame is too small for SMW. I would like to watch him in MW against EU-level fighters as Amin Asikainen and Sylvester - and if he manages that he could once more try to step it up against world-level opponents.

Thanks Mick...too bad for Sartison...probably fighting the fight of his life, loosing it and not getting much recognition for his effort...

This would be back in the saddle, and going 60 into a brick wall.
Yes please too. :)

Re: Kessler vs. Sartison - Kessler by KO in the 12th
The only way to know is to set it up and hopefully Kessler wont bitch out at the last minute. I dont see Sartison lasting 12 with Pavlik . I dont see Kessler having the chin or the stamina to hang on to Pav. Pavlik inside of 8. Kelly, I finally bought your affliction shirt with my stimulus check. I love it.

Stupid comment - what makes you think that Kessler's chin is NOT up to Pavlik? He has never been down in the ama or pro from a head-shot or even hurt, so one must asume that his beard is quite good.

Gotta agree with Royal here, Kesslers chin is pretty solid! then again Pavlik has the punch that will well test his chin like never before! would love to see this fight made!!

Stamina? Watch round 9-12 against Sartison. He was way more active in the ending than in the start even he has to run after the German for most of the rounds.

Kessler looks f****n RIPPED in that picture!
And Pavlik will definetely be the ultimate chin tester for Kessler, but he hasn't given us to many reason so far to doubt he has a very decent chin..
He's also got a great style that will help him go the distance with Pavlik... I think it will go to decision, and Pavlik will have it by 2 to 3 rounds by landing the harder/more effective shots during the fights...
No way I see this one being a blow out for either fighter though..

Kess has always been fit from his early days at Light Middle to today.
He always comes into a fight fit and ready to go.

Sartison left the ring on a stretcher
While Mikkel Kessler won via 12th round stoppage, all of boxingconfidential’s attention, hopes, prayers are now with Dimitri Sartison. Sartison was dominated in almost every round by Mikkel Kessler, and according to our editor, the German’s corner should have stopped the fight way sooner. As it happens Kessler finally forced it in the 12th after which time a shaken up Sartison was sat down on his stool in his corner, and though initially ok, he seemed to lose some motor skills, and was laid out on the ring apron with his legs twitching, until a stretcher was brought into the arena and he was taken out.:o:o

Re: Kessler vs. Sartison - Kessler by KO in the 12th
Kessler was ahead with 9 points on two scorecards and 11 on the third before round 12

Pavlik has knocked out guys who have never been down or stopped. Zertuche is a 160 version of Andrade. I think Pavlik could easly knock out Kessler . Kessler comes in strait. He doesnt bat punches. He has little head movement and he leaves his jab out to long in the later rounds.

Then it is some kind of strange that he has not been down before in his almost 20 years in boxing.......

Come on be fair...Kessler got a pretty good chin, which might hold even through a Pavlik fight and BTW the Pavlik/Zertuche fight was stopped because of a cut if I remember right...

Re: Kessler vs. Sartison - Kessler by KO in the 12th
just watched the fight.. kesslers flurries were awesome.. he looks fast, and real destructive when throwing combinations..
Kessler/Pavlik would be real interesting.. I think Kelly may have it in the power department, and we know he has a HELL of a chin, and Kessler got caught early with a right by sartison and almost hit the deck, and if that was Pavlik he would've gone down.. so i'd have to give Pavlik the edge in this fight, but it would be a hell of a bout..
