If Hatton fought Pac Man
I think if these 2 were to ever fight, pac man would pick hatton apart all night long especially with the lack of head movement hatton showed in the lazcano fight.
And hatton would be a bloody mess, look at what pac did to diaz face and we all know how easily hatton cuts up.
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
To be honest i think if it happenend its a lose lose fight for hatton...
if he wins so what he beat a small guy.
if he loses he will get slated for losing to a small guy.
however i think it would be a massive event and a big money spinner for both but i think its a WIN WIN for Pac ;)
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
the penny just dropped...
this would prob lead to a Manny Pac Vs Mayweather if he beat hatton.
never thought of that till i just typed that post above... bring it on it would be a great mesuring stick for that P4P mega fight 8)
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
Unless Hatton gets jobbed stateside against Paulie i think he will fight Pacquaio and crush him. Hatton is no David Diaz and will be far too strong and bull Manny around the ring.
Remember Diaz is the weakest title holder at 135lbs big difference between D Diaz and R Hatton.
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
I like Hatton but PACMAN is a level above him , and KO'S him inside 6
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
I think it would be highly competitive, but dont discount hatton on this one... Hatton would do what Diaz was not skilled enough to do and thats put his head on Pacs chest and work the body.. hatton has twice the handspeed of Diaz and is alot bigger... This would be a Meha fight and a great event with 2 humble warriors... Cant pick a winner here, I pick against Pac he fools me, afrais to pick pack and then have Ricky maul him to death... Pac may be Welterweight champion one day after all, because if he can keep his speed and power moving up in weight since he does weigh in at the Welterweight limit I'm curious to see how high Pac can climb... Those potential matchups are well worth the $50 dollars;D

Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
i personally feel Hatton knocks him out, Body shot KO.

I don't see it as lose lose for Hatton at all Saddo. Only the hardcore boxing fans will care about weight differential, to everybody else Hatton will be facing the worlds number 1 p4p fighter and a champion in 5 weight divisions. hw
They are both the same height, Pacquiao has a slightly longer reach and both have been entering the ring at 140 - 145 lbs in recent fights.
It's no more lose lose for Hatton the Mayweather was for De La Hoya.
If Hatton fought and beat Pacquiao then history would see that as by far his biggest win.
I really want to see this fight, and now I think it's the ONLY fight choice for both men if they want to have a real boxing mega event. The fight would be huge in the UK and the Phillipines and would even attract a big draw in America.
Great matchup imo.

Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
It's been a while since I've seen Pac as an underdog.
I want him to shock the world again. :) Bring on Hatton!
(I'm a Hatton fan too, but I gotta root for my countryman).
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
I think it might take until Hatton before Manny eventually loses a fight again. Hatton to keep him under control.

That's exactly how I see it going. I was nervous about his speed and power carrying over to 135 but I think 140 would be too much for him.
The way Diaz fought is exactly how I see Hatton fighting. But Hatton is faster and hits harder. There's nothing more than I would love so see Pac winning this one but I don't see it.

i always thought pac-hatton would be competitive and not as ludicrous as most everyone thought. although i give the edge to hatton, after seeing pac's performance against diaz, if he carries his speed up to 140lbs i'd be leaning in his favor, especially knowing that pac thrives on being the underdog.
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
hatton late ko
manny goes up I think his speed will be no faster than hattons and with all those bodyshots diaz was landing I would have to think hatton would do the same and stop him late.
:)
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
Agreed with Doot, Diaz looked made to order for Pac who was very impressive to stay boxing but Hatton will get him involved in a fight and will be too big and brutal for Pac.
Pac should clean the lightweights as there are some good match ups Marquez v Casamajor, Campbell v Guzman and Amir Khan in the next couple of years. Remember he started out as a flyweight!

Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
Obliterating a Naturally bigger David Diaz is a feat by itself but pitting Manny against a fighter who has been fighting as a junior welter all his life is CRAZY IMO, let alone a Ricky Hatton:(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup Pare;) Been here since June 2006.
I'm a lil worried hearing PAC that he might even go to 140lbs sounds like he is really serious in going up against Hatton:(
Bad move IMO.

Team Pacquiao says, they'll take the hatton fight for the title and the big purse. They also said they'll take the oscar fight at 147 for the big purse, now that will be rediculous. the hatton fight is becoming more logical but oscar at 147 :nono: but pac did mention he is most comfortable at 135 and would like to stay in the division.
Anyways where at the WASH are you at? Seattle?

I for once agree with Bilbo about the public not caring about weight divisions. It is just like the poster we had awhile back saying, "Its just 7 pounds, etc". Ignorant people don't realize that is a huge deal. Hell people I talk to usually asks me how many weight divisions there are, or how big is Floyd, etc. Someone asked me if Floyd was a cruiserweight one time. Now that would be a funny specatacle.

Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
I just posted the following on another thread, and I'm too lazy to retype it:
Quote:
Let's say for the sake of argument that Pacquiao goes to 140 and fights Hatton next. And let's say for the sake of argument, that Hatton, naturally the bigger man at 140, beats Pacquiao, who may not carry his power too well into 140.
Are Hatton fans going to claim that all of a sudden Hatton should vault back into p4p consideration? That would be grossly unfair to the other fighters who have scratched and clawed their way onto that list.
IMO, of course.
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
If Pac fought Hatton he would get destroyed . If he fought Cotto hed get destroyed . If he fought a washed up De La Hoya hed get destroyed .
If he fights losers like Diaz with a busted rib then he can win
Simple as . ;)

I think a win over Paulie ans Pacquaio puts Hatton back in the top 7 maybe top 5.

No offense, bro. But I'm glad YOU'RE not in charge of the rankings.

Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
I'd like to see Pac in with Casa or Nate first (he absolutley flattens Khan after last night IMO).
Hatton-Pac would be a HUGE event, and very entertaining while it lasted, I'm all for it. I'm in agreement with the chief (saddo) when it comes down to what it actually means lagacy wise for Hatton. REgardless of outcome Pac will always be the superior fighter p4p, all this fight will prove if he can carry the weight or not.
Awsome performance last night, HOWEVER it's still very speculative wether he'll be able to carry it up further, He had to hit DD flsuh loads of times to get him hurt and it's possible 140 may be a step to far.
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
If Pacquiao can handle 140 well he shouldn't have a problem beating Hatton
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
honestly, am afraid for my boy going to 140 and fight Hatton but if it happens, I will still be rooting for the Pacman.
If Pacquaio wants it very badly for his retirement (coz he really wants to join the dirty politics in the Philippines), then I should say, GO AHEAD PACMAN. You have done well already for boxing.
Fight HAtton and win or loss, you RETIRE.
Hope you don't win any position in politics!!!!

I don't think you should worry too much.
Hatton is the type of fighter Pacquiao looks grand against and I don't know if he can be more active or as accurate as Pacquiao can, and we've seen how Hatton fairs against southpaws. ;)

Meaning....? MAyweather did not deserve the win over Hatton? Coz Mayweather looked grand against HAtton. If PAcquaio KOs Hatton in less than 9 rounds then he is better than Mayweather? Is that your implication Majesty?;D

Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
I think Manny beats Hatton. It's one of those fights where I might even put money on the outcome. I don't see Hatton stopping Manny and he definitely won't outbox him, so I see a close Manny UD.

Im saying quite frankly, if Pacquiao can handle 140 weight fine then he should have no problems beating Hatton ;) Competitive fight but I see Pacquiao winning.

May as well be, but Hatton is twice as fast with more power, accuracy and throws more punches, especially to the body.. I think I'd be more worried of Pacs punch resistance as he moves up
-
Re: If Hatton fought Pac Man
As ive said already this fight would not come down to which man is the quicker, has faster hand speed and more in ring technique but more whether manny would be able to take hattons best shots which i seriously doubt.
Manny has only ever been hurt at 130, the difference between the 2 weights is worlds apart. If pac gets hit by the same shots marquez hit him with he`ll be sprawled out on the canvas and hatton will win by KO.
Pacs speed vs hattons power - whatever wins out on the night wins the fight

I feel the same way, hopefully Hatton will fold up Malignaggi impressively and we'll get this one as a Christmas present
