I seriously doubt it. He would get murdered.
If this has any semblance of truth, I'll be disgusted.
I can't lie, I never liked Vargas, but I had developed some admiration for him when I heard he had invested well, svaed his purses and rendered himself quite well financially.
But if he's to come back to the fight game I'll be disgusted.

I'm all for him getting a payday if he can manage it. He got thrown to the lions too early and took some beatings. So fuck it.........go for it Vargas, take a dive if you have to and get something back.
The weirdest thing is that the article states that Team Kessler's American agent was not available for comment - that agent is Michael Marley, owner and editor of Boxing Confidential (I know he didnt write this very story, but still.)
I absolutely believe it. These are the type of fights Mogens Palle loves to make. Big names who can barely keep their hands up anymore and throw them in with much bigger guys. He tried for a long time, around the time of Hearns last fight, to bring Thomas Hearns to Denmark to fight Brian Nielsen....at heavyweight!

I thought Vargas was supposed to get his much needed back surgery and that after that, there was no way he could come back to fighting. By the way, does the guy plump up or does he plump up. He looked like he was about to eat David Diaz when he bent over to talk to him.
Doubt it's true, be very dissapointed in Kess if it is. Not sure who could be available foe Kess next, but he doesn't seem to be pushing for anything. Pavlik will be busy in Sept and then hopefully fight Abraham, Bute is busy and Froch with Taylor hopefully. After getting one keep busy fight Kess should really push for the winner of Froch-Taylor or Bute, he needs to get back in the mix while he's still at his physical peak, he'll be pushing 30 soon.
In no way should this happen...what a farce.Vargas looked like he was in his 2nd tri-mester last time out vs.Mayorga and could get seriously injured at this stage vs. kessler.

I don't see it, nothing more then a bunch of rumor talk. Fact is Fernando while he can get in the ring and fight he really is not a healthy fighter. His back is shot and his reflexes have been greatly effected by that.
Vargas has heart and is a warrior who will go down swinging but he knows this is not a good idea.

This is all just talk and honestly I would be HIGHLY disappointed in Kess if he actually stepped in the ring with Vargas.
did any1 see the size of Vargas he was walking with Kendall Holt to the ring i think it was that fight anyway.He was massive he aint in fighting shape thats for sure.
Vargas should hang it up try a reality show or something to pay the bills. Rooted for him back then and respect him enough to not watch him get hurt.

With all due respect to him he was a hell of a warrior and he always went out swinging....He was better then let on but thrown to the wolves by his handlers early and was put into too many big fights before he was ready...He did well in them even the ones he lost.....
The back injury is what really did Vargas in.....He just could not reciover enough to be a shade of his old self and added with the already abused body the guy had the whole deck stacked against him.....
