I know boxrec can be full of shit some times, but it does have him listed as fighting Soto on September 16th in Mexico City.
Has anybody heard anything else about him coming back? This is news to me.

No way. If Barrera does then he's dumb. Pacquiao had his foot off the gas pedal and Barrera still had problems with the pace. Just can't keep up after all these years. Soto is a whirlwind, I hope this isn't true.

BTW, I haven't heard anything about Barrera coming back. I think an article was posted here about Morales coming back but have heard nothing of Barrera coming back. Could be the comic brilliance of boxrec at work again.

I do know that reportedly Warren tried to get MAB for a fight with Alex Arthur but he didn't want it. Whether that was cause he had no interest of coming out of retirement or whether he just had no interest in fighting Alex Arthur is unknown to me.
the AA thing was a good while back.
Soto is a bad fight for barrera.
You'd think Arthur was a perfect (more than winnable) fight for him.. especially considering the WBO title would have been on the line. They couldn't come to an agreement - which means the money wasn't right obviously :rolleyes:Quote:

Let me clarify that, my man fenster. When I say exposed I mean technically not very skilled fighters are exposed for just that by more skilled fighters. These are the fighters who primarily live on their big punches and nothing much more. Once they meet a skilled fighter, like Guzman, they become ineffective and so their deficiency in skills deparment is exposed.Quote:

I dont think Barrera is is washed up physicaly, he looked good against a young fighter in Juarez and was fighting on equal terms with Marquez and I couldnt see the bother over the decision. The same Marquez who alot of people would say beat Manny Twice.
Against Manny however, I felt he didnt want to fight for fear of getting stopped, the previous encounter warned him.
I dont think Manny is all that great, he does good things with the skills he has but good boxers make him look silly, the problem is all the good boxers in his previous weights were getting on in age.
He needs to fight Valero or Guzman
Barrera needs to stay retired, being retired means you dont want to fight any more.
I would love to see In Jin Chi come back to boxing, he fights like his life depends on it, he is doing well in K1 at the mo though
