Awesome, I'm a big fan of Soto, good to hear he's going to get a big pay-day, especially considering the travesty that he recently had to endure at the hands of Joe Cortez. Pac should handle him, but I'll still watch, hoping that Soto can somehow pull it out.
I don't think that highly of Soto's chances but it should be exciting
I know you're the top "newsman" Ouma, but does this site (boxscene) just print every Arum quote as breaking gospel news :-\
If the odds are big enough, I'll bet on Soto. I may win big.

I'd much rather watch Soto fight Joe Cortez though....and maybe have Pac ref it?
Seeing how Bobby Pac gave him hard time, before Bob was KO'd I mean, and how Guzman toyed with him very badly, I'd say Soto's got no chance. Again, I think Soto is just one of those over-rated punchers. After the near flop Diaz fight, I don't think the fight will happen; Soto's just not in Pac's class, IMO.

Hopefully not. Humberto Soto is my next favorite fighter in the jr lightweight-lightweight class. Humble and strong, could definitely pull an upset, but in this fight PAC has little to gain compared to fighting Valero who has a perfect record and who's feared because of his 1st round kayos.
Pac is so due for a lose. Love watching him and his style but one of these young guns is gonna take him out.

Despite that, I'm glad this is happening. It will be entertaining. Maybe Soto will get someone who wants to fight him since according to him Guzman didn't want to. Hopefully it comes off, there really is nothing better out there and that includes Valero. After that and the dust on the division has settled, hopefully we get some type of superfight with any combination of Marquez/Guzman/Pacquiao. That's what I'm waiting for, this certainly isn't a bad filler, two very entertaining fighters.
Am I the only one who thinks Soto is a lot like Margarito? I mean in the ring, he reminds me a lot of Margarito.
Thanks Ouma and AMAT, actually I'm just looking for available fighters for PAC in the juniorlight/lightweight division who are available that IFEVER PAC beats him, PAC will get credit for it. Don't get me wrong I don't mind PAC mixing it up with JMM, Guzman and Gamboa if they're available;)Quote:

Soto is a game fighter and all but I really wanted to shut valero down this november. IMO Soto is a better fighter than valero, easier fight to make but valero in the long run may look better under pacs win column.
If this happens, Soto is going to get a beat down. do you gusy remember the look in pacs eye when soto beat bobby? Ofcourse every bigger brother takes offences when he sees his little brother get beat. I know pac is a sportsman but IMO his going to pound soto, maybe worst than he did diaz.

Good fight though and with Cotto stepping it up hopefully he will ignore what flaws he sees and put Pavlik in with another 160lb cham or a live 168lb`r.
i don't think it's going to happen. there are people in pac's camp who are unhappy over it. it's a high risk low reward fight for pac. i would rather have pac fight valero than soto if there's no other option. Pac should have been unifying with campbell while valero could face soto to get some U.S. exposure. pac might have to wait it out for the winners of JMM-casa, kats-diaz and campbell-guzman or go for julio diaz in the meantime.

That's what I'm saying before that fighting Valero looks better on PAC's resume. An undefeated kayo artist and younger than PAC, if PAC knocksout Valero nobody can discredit him for that. Actually they should put Yuriokris Gamboa against PAC considering this guy has well over 400 amateur fights that's fair enough. For me as long as they're within the junior lightweight to lightweight limit I wouldnt worry about it. PAC is already a LEGEND in my eyes.
I use to worry about PAC fighting Juan Diaz, Edwin Valero, Joan Guzman, Humberto Sotto, JMM and the list goes on but not anymore.
PAC has enough skill/ firepower to beat these guys.
I think this will definatley happpen. Arum will have Valero fight on the undercard and try to generate some pub for Valero for a Pac-Valero fight early next year. I thought Soto would put up a fight before Guzman really took him to school. I think Pac will score a 5th roundn KO.
Boxrec have Soto lined up to fight Barrera in September then Pac in November. I thought Barrera was retired? He's hardly gonna fight the 2 of them in 2 months :confused:

it seems campbell isn't officially bound to fight guzman yet. pac vs. campbell can still be made for november.

Soto is a quality opponent. Anyone who watched his last fight knows he didn't lose it. His loss to Guzman is no shame, Guzman is an undefeated fighter.Quote:
