those are century and they arent worth a damn. they cost like 20, one of my family members bought me some similar ones for sparring when they didnt know what to get
Re: new boxer here! help me with gloves!!!
I'm totally saving that picture though... that is the most awkward picture of boxing gloves I have ever seen :D Looks like a cartoon... Sorry, I just thought it was funny...
Re: new boxer here! help me with gloves!!!
How much are they selling them for?
It's better to get quality equipment in the first place. Have a look on the everlast website or ringside.com or titleboxing website. They have good stuff and most of it has good recommendations.
If you buy some crappy gloves your hand will get sore easily and they'll feel uncomfortable & you'll end up being discouraged when it comes to training and you won't get the enjoyment from it that you should...
Are you planning on attending a gym?
Re: new boxer here! help me with gloves!!!
well the quality dont really matter if ur just gonna square off in ur yard, if its nothing serious, better to have octogon shaped gloves than to fist fight i guess..... dont bring those to the gym, im not sure they could even fit through the gym doors ;D

Those gloves............are weird. I have never seen some shaped like that.
Re: new boxer here! help me with gloves!!!
it all depends on what you want,
gloves that have less padding over the knuckles (punchers gloves) can seriously injure an opponent, and break your hand at the same time
gloves that focus thier padding over the knuckles (boxers gloves) will protect a fighters hands, however it will be harder to hurt your opponent as your knuckles will likeley not be felt through the gloves(guys like judah and mayweather prefer these)
there are also more generic gloves like everlast that are sort of a mix of the two.
Re: new boxer here! help me with gloves!!!
reyes are the more well known punchers glove
winning are the well known boxers glove (commonly referred to as pillows)
Re: new boxer here! help me with gloves!!!
there was some contreversey surrounding paqiao morrales over which glove to use, morrales wanted to protect his hands, while pacquiao wanted to unprotect morrales' face
paciao's promoter didnt want to loose the opportunity to fight morrales so he didnt push the issue
morrales won the dispute and the fight

I wouldnt say that.
the main fighters who use winning are because they have hand problems.
mayweather, morales, joppy, ayala are the only fighters that i have seen wear winning during a match.

daniel eduord hasnt to my knowledge those are everlast.
Re: new boxer here! help me with gloves!!!
Hey I noticed there have been several questions about whether these gloves are any good:
http://store.everlastboxing.com/ever...ng-gloves.html
Well I just thought I would put a review here. I bought some nice leather $70 Everlast velcro training gloves and I also bought some of the above $29 ones from Sports Authority. The $29 ones are vinyl but they are a nice soft kind that almost feels like leather. They don't feel plastic-ish.
I have to say, the $29 and the $70 ones both feel nice and comfortable to me. They don't feel much different at all. The biggest difference I have noticed using them to do bag work and sparring is that the leather $70 ones don't make your hands sweat as much, but it's not a big deal.
Another thing I noticed is that if you strap them really tight, the $29 ones give some wrist support whereas the $70 don't because they have a much more stretchy strap. The strap on the $29 ones it kinda almost rigid and supports your wrist a little more. This probably doesn't make much difference though because if you really need support you can just wrap your hands.
Bottom line, if you don't have much money, I think the $29 ones are a good deal for a training glove, especially considering they feel hardly any different than gloves that cost over twice as much money. It really seems like Everlast used a nicer softer more natural type of vinyl than other vinyl gloves I have seen. They seem like a good bang for your buck and they are easy to put on by yourself if you have to train by yourself sometimes.
