Yup Duane Ford had Taylor up by 1 round going into the 12th.

If he had scored the 12th for Hopkins(which it OBVIOUSLY was)

It would have been 114-114 a draw, Hopkins would have his title, Taylor would have his 0 and then Hopkins would move up and Taylor could have the Championship and say he drawed with the Middleweight champ. That's respectable.

But DUANE FORD desides for whatever reason to give the 12th to Taylor.

Stealing a Draw if their ever was one, from boxing fans.

Did u hear the crowd boo that decision, and did u hear the crowd chanting "Hopkins Hopkins Hopkins!" Put that on top of that about 3/4th of the crowd came to see Taylor.

Taylor may have won the fight.

But Hopkins won the EVENT :yes:

Completely agree, I voted for Taylor cause I never thought Hopkins won, but I do think it should have been a draw.

The biggest screw up by a judge was Roth somehow finding a way to give Hopkins 8 rounds....that is totally unexcusable and he should never be able to judge a major fight again.

The fight was AT WORST, 6-6 for Taylor...most likely 7-5, and could have even been scored 8-4 Taylor. There is no conceivable way that Hopkins won more than 6 rounds.

I personally scored the fight 7-5 for Taylor...giving him rounds 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8.

You people to remember how boxing fights are scored...it's not about who landed more punches, it not about who did more damage...it's about winning rounds. And Taylor clearly won at least 6 rounds, with Hopkins only clearly winning 4 rounds...the remaining 2 (rounds 2 and 7) were close, but Taylor outlanded Hopkins in those rounds and controlled the action.

Do u actually think Taylor outlanded Hopkins in rounds 2 through 7 ::)

Based on the 10 point must system, Taylor won albeit really close. I expected the split decision even before it was announced.

HOPKINs did win later around more convincingly than Taylors early rounds but it doesnt mean the score should be 116-112 for hopkins. thats just total nonsense.

the "FIGHT" was won by hopkins (more convincing rounds and i cant picture taylor lasting another round if fight continued.)

i've been a JT fan for a while but i dont hate hopkins.
i definitely give props to BHOP. at the age of 40, an extra round or two would've finished JT but
he did waste lotta energy early in the fight and again this was his first BIG MEGA fight.
He'll be more prepared for the rematch and i think HOPKINs will be to.
Thats why i cant wait for the rematch.
as far as this fight goes, i'll watch those rounds u've mentioned.

i've been a JT fan for a while but i dont hate hopkins.

Guys the reason why i made this thread was coz everyone is bitching about the decision and i want to see what everyone thinks. But i dont want arguing in this thread coz its in every other thread about the fight. As i said all you have to do is vote and say what you voted for. That way we get your opinion without complicating things ;)

I voted for Hopkins being robbed. He should have had the draw at worse.

Also... about the first 8 rounds... Taylor was more aggressive... but was it really EFFECTIVE aggression? And then ring generalship... you really think Taylor dictated where the fight took place or did it seem more like Hopkins pretty much decided when and where Taylor would step? Clean effective punching... I don't remember Taylor hitting Hopkins too clean at all... plus he never even hit him as much or even with as good of accuracy.

And that punch that sent Hopkins into the ropes (2nd round was it?) Was a punch that hardly hit him, in the back of the head, followed by a shove by Taylor's forearm. Watch it in slow motion.

Then the championship rounds aren't even questionable.

Hopkins is winnin so far :D Justice is being served, at least among fans :)

rewatch the 5th round and you scorecard will be different. no way hopkins lost that round.

5th was Hopkins's I believe, have to rewatch it, I know that the first round for Hopkins was the shoulder wiggle one. ;)

Anyway, I still believe Hopkins won by 1 the first time, and then the 2nd time had it a draw. The 3rd time had Hopkins winning because I drew after the first 8 and then Hopkins dominated from the 8 on. So the 3rd time I had Hopkins winning wider margin. I might watch it a 4th time. But the look of disappointment on Hopkins face makes me mad. I thought he'd pull a Hagler and wave his hand in disgust and walk off. But Hopkins DEALT with it because he said he "knew he won." Hopkins was a class act and said he "wasn't mad at Taylor." But was mad at the judges.

And I'm afraid Taylor will have to suffer for the judges mistake.

It's a shame. The draw would have been GREAT for boxing. And Legacies.

BAD INTENTIONS would still have his 0.

Hopkins' 21st defense would be a draw before he moved on to bigger things. And then when he left Taylor could defend as undefeated Champ who drew with the Middleweight Champ Hopkins.

Nobody would have been robbed, and everyone a happy story.

yes but on your round by round scorecard you gave taylor the fith and didnt even say it was close so i thought there was a mixup.

a draw would have been good, bc there was need for a rematch anyway. but again i think bernard deserved the fight any way you slice it.

Purist you done good scoring the fight. It took you a while to come to my conclusion, 4 rounds a piece after 8, then Hopkins all the way. But you did. Thank You. I feel that was the way it went. But I could understand 7 rounds to 5 for Bernard too, and I could deal with a draw, but not Taylor winning the fight. No way. I seen it purist and this is my arguement that none of the taylor fans have been able to counter.

also note that 2 judges gave taylor the 5th (shoulder wiggle round)

if all 3 judges give those rounds to hopkins like he deserved then he is still the champ.

it would have been 116-112, 115-113, 114-114

If the judges had given the Wiggle round to Hopkins like they should and that one guy the 12th like they should.

Hopkins wins the decision. SO Hopkins got robbed of 2 rounds which were obviously his.

even more that the taylor fans can't counter.

well you get the point. and most of these people think i am biased because i have such a strong arguement. most of these fans just started watching taylor last night and i have been a fan and following him since right before the 2000 olympics. these people arent getting to me, but i just want to embarass them for some of the bias stuff they say.

You should have added an option for DRAW. I think the fight was a draw with an edge toward Taylor.
