Calzaghe is crazy. Why would Pavlik want to fight him after Calzaghe beat Lacy? Pavlik was gunning for a Middleweight title. And after Pavlik defeated Taylor and won the title, he had to fight Taylor again for the rematch clause.
I'm getting very tired of Joe's comments of Pavlik. The one the other day was Kessler is better than Pavlik and Joe beat Kessler. But Roy Jones who hasn't had a significant win since I can't remember is more substantial choice than Pavlik? Give me an f***ing break

That's funny. Joe has recently been saying Pavlik hasn't done enough to earn a shot at him; but Calzaghe says he was trying after the Lacy fight to call Pavlik out when Kelly was still a pimple on the face of boxing who had yet to fight Zertuche and who people were paying little attention to.

And he said Joe will fight Pavlik and has always intended to end his career with Pavlik but he said Jones was a once in a life time payday. He also said Joe is sick of the flack about him "ducking" Pavlik. Price said if Pavlik agree to terms the fight will be at 168 for Joes WBO and liniar title in March or April.
He hinted that retirement talk was to diswade warren trying to cash in on his last bout. Price is a stablemate and an ultra solid source.

This fight is going to happen sometime next year, calzaghe picked up some tricks along the way from warren, I mean heck he should have. Do you guys not remember almost the same exact talk before the kessler fight happened, same before the bhop fight. They're both going to claim that the other is avioiding the other and wants no part in a fight and then they're going to sign the dotted line and meet in that sqaure circle.

I'm used to fighters saying stupid things, and Joe doesn't seem like the brightest bulb in that area, but this one is just hilarious. Pavlik hadn't done enough to deserve a fight with Joe after Miranda and the two Taylor fights....Pavlik was a credible opponent after moving to 28-0 with the biggest win of his career over Fulgencio Zuniga....does not compute.
I get why he wanted Jones over Pavlik, he's getting up there in age himself, its a bigger money fight and its extraordinarily winnable, and legacy wise maybe some fans will forget that Jones is shot. There's no need to try to be overly defensive about it and begin the bullshit.
It's perfectly understandable Calzaghe's mob tried to make a fight with Pavlik after Lacy.. they were looking for an opponent with a good record, very beatable, and one that would cost PEANUTS.. luckily for Pavlik Sakio Bika got the job ;)
I don't for a minute believe any of this. I like JC but I don't think Pavlik would have turned a big payday down, when he was virtually unknown
