David Haye - the next big hype-job
This fighter is doing everything to get PR and do think that he is the savior of HW.
Already in his amateur days he was know for his glassy chin - look at his fight with The Cat rd. 4-5 - this selvish new icon of Lacy will not last long in HW.
Belfast 2003 - not only a pussy chin also a VERY tiny heart.
Actually, Haye almost lost to Dane Lasse Johansen if the ref did not stop the fight pre - Haye was flat-footed and done.
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
He may be a little chinney but he's already made the heavies a lot more interesting & he's only fought there once!
With power like Hayes its always going to be fun. He's going to get you or your going to get him!

Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Why must all Danes refer to the Dannish fighters as Dane ____ ____???? I don't say American ____ _____, British people don't say Brit _____ _____.
I hate the Danes....it might not be PC to say but if they are all like this dude then FUCK that country. I'm mailing a letter to my congressman to tell him who we should invade next

Call us what? Sorry I didnt get that one?....
But with a good heart you could call Denmark;
Lowest curruption in the world,
Best City in Copenhangen
Top 5 highest income per capita
Very low rate of crime by etnic danes - 2/3 of all criminals jailed in Denmark are Arabs - they are about 5 procent of the pop - they are overrepresented by app. 10-1 - only 1 out of 10 jailed persons in DK are Etnic Danish.
More than 90 procent of all knife attacks in Denmark are by Arabs. They buy and trade each other more than 40 kilo US$ to get a Danish passport.....
Most Danish just want them out. They are criminal, dosent like to work hard and the shops that get the angry smileys are always in etnic shops because they do not keep the shops clean.
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
uh huh sounds inviting, come to Denmark where you can be knifed by arabs.
I was asking if we should put the Dane part infront of everyone's name like you do for example instead of saying Mikkel Kessler we would say Dane Mikkel Kessler

Haye totally destroyed Lasse Johansen.

Believe me, they're not.
But I guess your incredible political pull means we should start withdrawing our troops from Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo and start preparing for an American invasion here. Oh well, at least we are pretty familiar with how you guys operate ;)
Btw (imported) Dane Lolenga Mock (:)) floored Haye, despite being a smw. Sorry, just couldnt resist putting that in here.

Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
This guy is racist scum! ever think the reason 90% of the prison population is Arab because you live in a racist country, with an institutionally racist police force who only arrest Arabs?
Just because the Danish natives don't get caught does not mean they do not commit crime 'Danish' Steffer.

Yeah Yeah Yeah. Chuck Wepner floored Muhammad Ali. Didn't mean anything though did it just like Mock!

Trust me, I agree (although we are not comparing Haye's and Ali's chins, are we?). Just couldnt resist putting it in, considering Lyle's, admittedly deserved, rant.

Given the fact that Haye has been the undisputed cruiserweight champ would lend to the fact that it isn't all hype and there is quality there. Admittedly he hasn't done anything yet at heavyweight except talk but I'm sure he will take at least one of the belts out there.

No definitley not comparing Hayes anything to Ali's except maybe punch power! And even that to me is underrated for Ali.

Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Haye is a breath of fresh air for the heavyweights, i havnt watched heavyweight boxing for a long while, i will be interested in the vitali/peters fight but we need the cockyness of Haye, he is telling the truth when he says what a mess the heavyweight scene is.
I really hoped that james toney would of been the top dog & cleaned up the heavys but that aint gonna happen now so come on Haye sort em all out.
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Drago you hoped TONEY was going to be the king of the heavyweights?!?!?!
SEEK MENTAL HELP IMMEDIATELY!
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
yeah he might not be everyones cup of tea but he made me take notice unlike these so called champions now. when i say hoped would be king of heavys i mean hoped not truely believed.

Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Here we have the heavy weights self proclaimed saviour getting beaten up by a little supermiddle journeyman and a washed up 40 year old;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMXaN...?v=43l2PM8kyv8
I like his pathetic little fight back against Thompson when the ref steps in to save him;D

Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Who the hell is Haye going to fight??? I have asked and asked and asked and even his fans don't know, they just say "Klitschko needs to fight him" and that is just ridiculous.
Haye vs Lamon Brewster seems like a solid match up to me
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
I do know that the fight will only be shown on Setanta if Haye faces a top ten Heavy;)
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Who would you want him to fight smash? And don't say Wlad, #1 We all know that's what he wants #2 He's not ready to fight him yet
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
I don't want to see anybody fight Brewster. I suppose this fight could happen now that Brewster has had a tuneup, but I'd rather see Haye fight Ibragimov, Liakhovich, or Golata. I like Brewster and I'm afraid he might get beat up pretty bad. A prime Brewster would probably give David Haye fits because he had chin, power, and pressure. It's unbelievable some of the shots he took from Wlad in the first fight and still kept at him.
As for the Danes that get on this forum, it's funny because though I've never been to Denmark, I've met quite a few Danes while traveling (and lived with a few on a kibbutz) and I can't ever remember one being anything but extremely friendly and not at all racist. Denmark was the only country invaded by the Nazi's who made an active effort to save it's Jewish population (which make me predisposed to think well of Danes), and everybody I know who has visited Denmark say it's a great country. Mikkel Kessler seems like a heck of good guy in interviews.
Royal needs to stop creating new accounts and giving his country a bad name. I gotta believe was just another brief reincarnation of his old routine. It seems suspicious that so many Danish users come on here and act like jerks. I really think it's only one or two guys with a few different accounts. Good to see the immediate ban.
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Brewster still has a great chin and he's back with his old trainer Saheed Suluki. I think he'd be a very tough test for David Haye and if Lamon was able to beat Haye he'd more than likely get another title shot.
Brewster still has some good power, I think he'd do well vs Haye as long as he comes in prepared and in shape

I can second that in regards to the Danes. I spent a good six months backpacking around South America last year and met up with loads of Danish people. All of them great!
Even met some guy who was some kind of famous Skier, all the Danish girls loved him!! Met some other guy named Casper too who sat with me and listened to the Manfredo fight online in our hostel in Brazil. He was a huge Kessler fan and we had some friendly banter over whether JC could beat him!

He would still be a test, agreed, but I think Haye should get past him. I was hoping to see Brewster fade away, but I'm sure he would be glad to make a fight with Haye for the right $$$.

Chris Arreola wouldbe a good move,up n coming prospect who can punch and has a decent chin!
Would be a real test for Haye imo and Arreola is a good sized Heavy so we could see if his Heavyweight assualt is for real after all!!
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Check this article i read the other day (decent and honest views here)
Will David Haye Still Be Fighting A Top Heavyweight For His Next Bout?
Haye (without throwing a single punch) IS getting us all talking about the Heavies like we haven't @ saddo's since Lennox v Vitali :)
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
I've been in contact with David a fair bit recently and the date is NOV 15th at Londons O2 arena:cool:
HAS to be a top 10 Heavyweight opponent to satisfy the TV network (setanta) who are scheduled to screen the fight!
So i guess if it isn't a recognised top 10 Heavy then it'll go to bids as to who shows it:-\
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
I reckon its still gonna be Rahman, after all he still holds a high ranking because the toney rematch was a no contest and he will be recognisable to a lot of general boxing fans for his foghts with Lewis and Haye will see him as beatable because when he looses its by knockout;D

Arreola isn't a horrible choice but I'm not sold on that kid, his hands are too heavy and he is not technically sound.
I would rather see David Haye vs a top level solid heavyweight who is maybe on the way out or on the downside of their career.
He either needs to fight a good boxer or a power puncher, I don't think there is one heavyweight that is blessed with both aside from Wlad and Vitali.
I reccomend Jameel McCline or Liakhovich if Haye wants to really show off for the division. If he's able to KO those guys or just outbox them then he's doing something not many guys do and vs guys who have fought the cream of the crop so he can be compared and contrasted with the likes of Wlad, Valuev, etc.
Rahman is a solid choice but at this point no one cares about him. Oleg Maskaev is a better choice IMO as he was just at the top of his game and was holding a belt.
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Yeah but even though Maskaev beat Rahman and was a champ more recent than him, know one knows who he is, Rahman has notoriety with the general public for sparking Lewis. he is the easiest fight to make with a beatable, marquee and ranked heavy.
There is no way Haye goes anywhere near someone like Areolla.
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
I suppose you're correct but there is an OBVIOUS choice out there for Haye who no one has mentioned perhaps out of respect.
EVANDER HOLYFIELD
No one WANTS to see the "Holy Warrior" beaten half to death but it would be a passing of the torch fight and a legitimate test at heavyweight vs a LEGEND

I would love to see this, but it won't happen anytime soon. Haye is going to fight an established guy with more name recognition. No way get gets in with a young lion. I'm sure Arreola would take the fight in a heartbeat. I'm also not sold on Arreola, but Haye gains little and has everything to lose from that fight. Maskaev, Rahman are viable alternatives. I just hope they don't dig up Dominic Guinn. That would be par for the course.
-
Re: David Haye - the next big hype-job
Guinn only ever seemed good when he was being pushed by the other fighter. Guinn has never been hurt or knocked down or KO'd to my knowledge.
He could do worse....Brian Minto wouldn't be too terribly difficult for him. Davarryl Williamson is an option.
I would rather see Haye go lots of rounds with someone who either has good defense or takes a good punch rather than Haye spark someone out in a round.
As a Wladimir Klitschko fan I have a lot invested in Haye living up to the hype because he seemingly is THE GUY who can give Wlad a big time competitive fight......I think Wlad would blast him out of the water but maybe that's just me.

Guinn would be a test to take him the distance, correct, but not a real threat to win. It would be seriously ironic if Guinn beat Haye, being that Guinn was one of the guys (Along with Danny Williams) who exposed FrAudley Harrison, but I'm afraid that Haye is better than Harrison and Guinn isn't the same guy he was back then.
