There won't be a purse bid for Adamek-Steve Cunningham fight as both fighters' camps reached an agreement before the official IBF date- September 22. Possible venues are: New York and Atlantic City.

Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
It looks like James Kirkland will fight Ricardo Cortes who was last KO'd in 1 round by Alfredo Angulo.
Does this mean Alfredo Angulo will fight Eromose Albert who was last KO'd in 1 round by James Kirkland.
???

True but you gotta admit that shit came out of left field.
Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
Ridick Bowe is slated to fight Sept. 12 vs. Zoltan Petranyi.

I see Bowe taking a SD win. And than calling out Klitschko
Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
It looks like the Matthysse family packs a punch. You've seen Walter Dario Matthyse whos 26-4 with 25 kos.
Now on the loose is Lucas Martin Matthysse who fights as a Light Welter and is 22-0 with 21 kos.
Now let's see about the chin...
Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
It looks like Dimitriy Salita will finally step it up...
Given the Andreas Kotelnik beats Norio Kimura in his next fight.
I remember reading a lot about Salita years back and HBO was showcasing him then he just fell off it. Don't think highly of Salita but interested in seeing him finally step up.
Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
Last night I was watching Cotto vs. Paulie card and I had completely forgotten about Tommy Zbikowski the then Notre Dame safety who made his pro debut on the undercard.
I checked up on him and started wondering what happened with him.
According to Wikipedia which isn't always 100% accurate he fought again but no result of the fight is listed and BoxRec does not have the second fight listed.
Anyone know anything on this?
Now that he's a Raven and a pro-football player guess we wont see him anytime soon again as that guarantees him a more secure future.
Would have really liked to see more of him in the ring.

Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
As if the JMM-Casamayor fight alone isn't intrigueing on it's own the undercard is full of interesting settings...
Julio C. "Baby Face" Garcia whos just 21 years old and holds a record of 41-3 with 35 kos looks to redeem himself after the horrible showing he last had on ESPN. Garcia will fight none other then Luis R. "Yory Boy" Campas.
Indonesian sensation Daud "Cino" Yordan is also on the card and looks to make his US debut a sensational one. Daud comes from a boxing family and has head high praise thus far. One things for sure he's already got a step on Chris John, cause Daud is willing to fight out here.
The "Twin Dream" will also be on the card. These twin brothers from Puerto Rico will both look to continue their undefeated records. You guys might have seen them on ESPN & Solo Boxeo as they have both fought there. Carlos Ivan Velasques and Juan Carlos Velasquez.
If that wasn't enough "The Golden Child" Daniel Jacobs will also be on there doing his thing. I like what I've seen but it's too early to make a judgement on him. As I've said plenty of times I don't jump up and hype fighters until they've hit at least 20 fights depending on opposition.
Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
Nelson Linares, whos Jorge Linares younger brother will fight on the Nate Campbell vs. Joan Guzman undercard. He doesn't look as well polished as his brother but can still fight.
Jorge Arce will fight Rafael Concepcion whos coming off a big upset over heavily favorite AJ Banal (For those who missed the derailing of Banal here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBuKkvakNOo listen for Concepcion yelling "Filipinas I looooove you" :) Talk about respect ) The Arce-Concepcion fight IMO has the makings of fight that will be full of fireworks and lot's of action.
Re: <-- Boxing Notes --->
It looks like Steven Luevano will defend his WBO title vs. Billy Dib on the undercard of B-Hop vs. Pavlik.
"The Dragon" Chris John will fight Hiroyuki Enoki on Oct. 24th in Japan. If my prediction from last year is right Enoki will beat John.
Jose Amaro Guzman, younger brother of Joan Guzman is slated to make his US debut in Oct.
Cintron vs. N'dou
Taylor vs. Lacy
and the return of Chazz Witherspoon have landed on HBO for Nov. 15th.

Ay Mick you remember Luevano cousin? Marshall Martinez? Got kicked out of the Olympic team a couple of years ago. Got busted with Ricardo Williams. He also out. Should be returning to the ring pretty soon

If Billy Dib wins, will he defend the title against Marali?
Marali protest upheld!
IBO orders rematch with Dib
The IBO championships Committee has ruled in favor of Zolani Marali and ordered IBO super featherweight champion Billy Dib to face Marali again within ninety days with all officials to be appointed by the IBO from Europe and the United States. A formal protest and appeal was filed on behalf of Marali with regard to the unanimous decision in favor of Dib in a controversial July 30 fight at Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. As part of a lengthy and intensive review, a panel of three senior IBO officials independently scored the fight, and ruled in favor of Marali.

The head of my gym boxed on a Salita undercard back in 2000.
Salita was hyped, they were building him, but he never got past the first floor, purposely or inadvertently I don't know.
Is he still with DiBella?

Grasshopper,
This is where boxing gets a bit nasty...
If you were Dib which title would you care most for?
The IBO or the WBO?
(I know the WBO itself is not as highly regarded as the others but it def. holds a lot more ground then the IBO)
Marali can keep the IBO title, Dib will still have the win and will move on to fight for the WBO title.

At least there has already been heavy talks of this. Small time Danish [1] promoter Robert Larsen was to be involved, but declared bankruptcy last month.
[1] Hate to put that word there, but quite frankly it is the only reason why I know of this.
[2] Great thread Mick! I would rep you, but I have to spread it round first.
