Will keep an eye out for him, thanks.
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
LMAO... Look at the date of the 1st post.
1 reply about Maidana and it was hitmandonny saying he'd keep his eye out on him... ;D
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
He packs a vicious punch. Ortiz felt it. The two of them were knocking each other down left right and center until his power eventually stopped Ortiz. It's a pity he lost a split decision to Kotelnik, I would've liked to see Khan get past this guy's punch :stars:
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
The next guy to knock out Khan.
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
a humble guy too, easy to root for.

Oh, trust me, there's no way Warren would put Khan in a ring with Maidana right now
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
I don't really think much of Marcos Rene Maidana to be honest, he's a very sloppy crude fighter. I admit its still a test for Amir Khan because of Marcos Rene Maidana's punching power.
But thats about all Marcos Rene Maidana has, and if Amir Khan has improved as much as he says and Freddie Roach. In all honesty he should box rings around Marcos Rene Maidana.
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
I havent seen alot of Maidana but liked him in the beat down of ortiz....
I never really thought of the argentines as punchers. if someone asked methe country that produces big punchers Columbia always comes to my mind....

colombians are noted as big punchers, miranda, presscott.
one good argentinian boxer is sergio martinez but not really a big puncher type.

Same here. I don't rate him in at all. Amir will put him on his arse. He'd probably get more credit for rematching Prescott to be honest.
Actually Prescott - Maidana would be fun.

Maidana also has a strong chin, much stronger than Khan. I would be impressed if Khan put "Maidana on his arse." I would favor Maidana over Khan. If Maidana hit Khan with a jab, the fight would be over.

he also mixes it up nicely to the body, Maidana IMO is the hardest puncher at 140, and if Khan beats him well it'll say something, that said, Maidana only needs to land one clean shot and it's over

Why? Ortiz had him on his arse twice early on. Not from huge punches either. Just from accurate shots that Maidana walked on to.
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
Rumors are that Khan will vacate the belt if WBA rules Maidana is his mandatory.

Ortiz has plenty of power in his shots, and he landed bombs on Maidana, don't know what fight you were watching, anyways Maidana won the fight, Khan although he has improved a bit, he isn't a completely different fighter than the guy who was KO'd by Prescott, IMO Maidana is a lot more heavy handed than Prescott and he's a hell of a lot more effective in cutting off the ring, Ortiz isn't being mentioned cause of his lack of experience and but if they bring him back up and don't rush him as they were doing (similar to Vargas) he is more than capable of beating any of the top guys at 140, he just honestly needs to work on defense and keeping composed, again i'm not saying Khan isn't any good, i think he has great potential, but to think that he's the best at 140 or even the 2nd best just cause he beat two bums in Kotelnik and Salita is pretty stupid (and no i'm not saying you said that)

I know, Ortiz has plenty of power and he loaded up some bombs, but the shots that put him down were very accurate that landed while Maidana was in mid-swing. Maidana very much has a take one to give one style, and Khan is much faster. I agree Maidana has power, but so does Khan (not as much), but if he lands faster and more accurately than i maintain, Maidana will hit the deck.

i agree, i'm not saying that Khan can't beat Maidana, i'm just saying it's gonna be a hell of a lot tougher than anyone Khan has faced, and it's not ludicrous to point out that if Maidana catches him he can stop him, cause Khan has been put down and badly hurt by guys with far less power (good example is Willy Limmond "spelling")
Re: * Marcos Rene Maidana *
Why would Maidana waist his time with someone like Prescott?
People need to get Prescott of their mouths.
His 15 min. of fame are up.
He's like another Kiko Martinez whom people started blowing up smoke up his ass after he defeated Dunne.
I remember certain people posting on here about potential fights with Kiko.
Kiko vs. Rafa
Kiko vs. Izzy
Kiko vs. JML
I mean immediately after Kikos win, not thinking really. Just wanting to throw up Kikos name. Look at him now...
Same thing with Prescott.
