I too have always been intrigued with Jack. Whoever it was was a viscious, brutal man.
You ever watch the movie "From Hell" Miles? Pretty good flick.
I always felt James Maybrick had the best case against him on account of the diary that they found.
I read the book about his diary and from that gathered that he was virtually a dead cert for the killer.
However I think most Ripper experts wern't convinced so maybe the diary wasn't authentic.
I seriously doubt it was the prince Albert or Lewis Carroll though.
I read loads on it back in the day, was a pretty interesting tale.
I have always hated reading about him
I thought he was vile, stupid and probably a homo..... :flame:
oh wait I thought we were talking about Saddo....
sorry
carry on :flame:
The reason he was never caught was because there was no killer. All 5 chicks committed suicide
This thread has gone to shit!;D
Plopeater, what are you on about? Mary Kelly must have been on one serious downer to have commited suicide like that. "Oh, I think I will cut off my breasts first. And then slice out my intestines and then consider partially removing my ears....and so on and so on".
That was the work of a calculated, intelligent man. A seriously fucked up person, but one that has left a lot of intrigue. I agree with Baggins that was unlikely to be any of the "celebrity" connections.
My hunch is that it may well have been Montague Druitt. However, it really is just a hunch. As with most of the suspects there isnt all that much evidence. His suicide coincided with the murders ceasing. Anything more certain than that is hazy. There is an interesting account of him over at the casebook site.
