Khan Exposed - No surprises
What did I always say about Khan people - he would be found out and kayoed within 19 fights ;)
Believed his own hype and a millionaire before he stepped through the ropes. Like Audley is it that the hunger isn't there ? Interesting to see him say before the fight that he hadn't seen his opponent in action and that he was quick learner and would suss him pretty quickly....Well something else happened even quicker Amir
Will he be able to come back from such a devastating loss - I doubt it
Should never have been on Box Office in first place but I am glad i saw it ! Was reading The Ring online earlier. They were saying it was a disgrace and they hoped it was a disaster in terms of sales - well not sure about the figures but it certainly was a disaster.
James Degale take note - stay out of the limelight and come up the hard way

AS someone said before , i think it was KATFIGHT , Khan is so wrapped up in cotton wool he is white. lol
WARREN - FOR YOU = :fyou:

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
Khan wasn't exposed... anone who knew boxing knew he was going to get sparked out soon. anyone with sense had money on him getting sparked in this fight.

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
hate to join a lis of people saying told you so but.......................... when you fight guys who have no chance of getting anywhere or those that where once half decent bu now just run of the mill journey men or khans classics, much smaller no punchers then one day when you fight a guy whos half good and can punch you get starched
he should have stayed grounded, not talk garbage, i mean he was saying not long ago that he wouldn't make the mistake hatton made by loseing in vegas to mayweather.......................... i'm glad he's been beaten in the manner he has because maybe now he'll start from zero and pay his dues......... cant see it tho as he's a millionaire without a world title fight, shame coz he did have talent

Yep, I remember. Good call Mark, I actually thought he would win due to the opposition of Prescott.

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
Wow, i knew this would happen somewhere down the line, but wasn't quite sure it was tonight. I wasn't ever gonna pay £15 for this fight, but i was out havin a family meal so couldn't watch it by other means. I'm so gutted now!!!

Thats a very good point Mark
Tonight was the night of the failed Olympic stars . Theyve proved that being overpayed early in their careers doesnt give them time to develop. Deagle will turn bad if he bought up the same way , topping a bill in every fight . I really hope it doesnt happen .
Audleys gone
Amirs gone
Now all attention turns to Deagle .

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
All it exposed was that he was open for the left hook tonight and it cost him.
A fighter can't be exposed in a 55 second fight.
When Kendall Holt was knocked out in the first round did it expose him? No he's a world champion now.
Exposing is like camacho got exposed against weis or against leija.
When a fighter is beaten over the fight then he is exposed. But when he is caught in one minute it doesnt expose anything other then they were open and got caught.
Just my two cents

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
.....and up next we have David Haye....hello David tell us a bit about yourself and why you're going to lose
"Well I'm an arrogant prick and I have shown weakness vs has been fighters and really there isn't much meat to my resume as a fighter and I don't really have a heavyweight resume....so there you have it" - David Haye

You could be right about Haye aswell he aswell doesnt have a chin, but one thing he has Amir hasnt is power.

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
Lyle will prob miss that because i doubt if it will be shown in Wlads asshole;)
Mark TKO was saying it from day one and so was Saddo...
I even remember the guv telling anyone who'd listen that if you think Khan is the next big thing then your in for a shock.
I don't mind admiting i had high hopes for him but after the Limond fight knew myself it was a matter of time and let's be honest if Prescott done that to him then what hope has he got against the real top dogs in the division:-X
Tell you what i noticed that had me worried before the fight...
Khan was interviewd before the Audrey fight and said "yeah i have a gameplan and i've done my homework, watched dvd's of him etc etc" and he looked a little nervous to me....
30 mins before the fight they interviewed him again and he was grey in colour and looked and sounded as if he had flu (NOT making any excuses but he didn't appear all their) and said the total opposite to what he did earlier..
"Well i've been down before and i can recover fast if knocked down etc:confused:
He looked like a scared little boy.
Then when he appeared before he started his ringwalk he looked absolutely terrified almost as if he knew he was gonna get a beating and looked to me very reluctant to get in the ring at all.
Seen it so many times when fighters lose there head during that walk..
Lacy was shitting footballs when he walked in against Calzaghe and never got out of first gear.
Maybe it's the bowl like MEN itself that has that effect on fighters (anyone who's been will know what i mean) i don't know.
Why Khan engaged him centre ring from the off was beyond me too as he knew he could bang and he showed inexperience by stumbling toward Prescott again after the first KO (should have been stopped then imo as he was all over the shop).
Bottom line is that Prescott is a murderous puncher and for all the skill Khan posseses it was only a mtter of time during that fight till Prescott caught him so better it happened that way than get the kid seriously hurt.
I hold my hands up and got Khan wrong and was somewhat swept up in the Hype (maybe a sideline of meeting and interviewing him before he turned pro..i liked him , he was a nice kid and he was British and we don't often get talent like that over here on our small island);)
Bad luck Amir and i'm sure he'll bounce back but as the same fighter...Hmmmmm big ask!!
Great point about Degale Mark.

Thing is Haye is proven world-class chinny or not. He won 3 world titles Khan fought one guy his weight and lost......... big difference.

Khan was put down by a lighter Mike Gomez , who for the record wasnt a massive puncher even in his own weight class , he was put down by Willie Limond a guy with 1 stoppage , then Khan fights a guy with world class power , and lasts 54 seconds , so in a way you are right , it wasnt just this fight that exposed Khan , its the other reasons i gave also.
Khan is not going to beat a power puncher with a chin, plain and simple.
-
Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
Im only glad I didnt pay money to watch that 54 seconds of fun
-
Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
why did Khans trousers fall down?
cause he has no belt ;D
this reminded me of Bernard Dunne against Martinez, damn Khans chin is awful his legs were jelly from a jab.

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
I expected Khan to get beat but not this early in his career. Any fighter that gets caught flush in the manner that Khan did is going to be in trouble. It's as much to do with Khan's defence as it is with his chin... both are questionable but his defence is more to blame.
In a way Khan reminds me of Bruno in the way that when he gets hurt he has no idea what to do. after the knockdon Khan was badly hurt and should have stayed down for the full 8 count instead though he jumped straight up and was immediatley back into trouble.
In a way a quick knockout will provide Khan with an excuse that will hurt him in the long run. He will claim that he caught caught cold and maybe say it was a lucky punch... the truth though is far more serious. Khan is susceptible to being counter punched and not with any particular punch - I've seen him hit with counter straight rights and left hooks. His defence can be worked on but I'm afraid the fatal flaw his his survival instinct when he's hurt... no attempt to take advantage of an 8 count and little if any idea how to spoil or hang on until his head is clear.
I'm afraid that the meteor that was Amir Khan has burnt up on impact. Maybe like Nigel Benn did when exposed by Michael Watson he can regroup and work his way back but I get the feeling he won't be given the time to do that and any hopes of being a true force at world level vanished with that first left hook....

I acutallly think Khan until yesterday had shown he had exactly what it took to survive a knockdown or scare, (I'm talking mentally not physically here) He had always come back admirably.
Yesterday though he was literally sparked. Give him credit for getting up from the first one but he was completely gone at that point. There's not a fighter in the world who could have tied up and got themselves out of the trouble Khan was in from that shot, he was literally out on his feet.
As for the punch, it looked solid but not powerful enough to smash someone like that. Sadly it seems Khan has all the tools but his chin is just far to weak for the job. I do hope he comes back from this though, and I genuinely feel that in a few years he'll be physically tougher and more ring weary and battle hardened, and will be able to survive these trickier fights.
I still think he'll win a belt or two, but it's going to be a long road now.

I agree in that everyone goes on and on about his chin which obviously isn't great but ignores the fact that he gets hit with big shots way too much . His defense has to improve or he's pretty much out of luck.

He will get physically bigger but that won't help... you can't put muscles on your chin :) As long as his defence is leaky he's vunerable and I stand by my view that when he's hurt instinct takes over and his instinct is to get up quick almost to prove he's not hurt... He probably will win a world title (but then I probably could cos there are so many out there...) I guarantee though this will not be the last time we see Khan counted out.

I think people may be forgetting or discrediting this guy that Khan fought as a true massive puncher.

Prescott resume is fill with pure bums. All he did Saturday was add another one. No need to overrate him.

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
I see Frank Warren had a successful pay per view event on Saturday night.
-
Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
Khan got KO'd, it was only a matter of time really. I wonder why yall still hatin on him haha
No but really, just watched it, fairly sad. I've said it for a while, and I know everyone will play I told you so, but there is something fundamentally wrong with the way the guy takes a punch and his defense isn't exactly tight. This really comes as no surprise, even though I don't know who the guy who beat him was. It's just made all the more worse because he has apparently been marketed as a top star in England and the next great champion.
Say what you want, but bringing a guy up that way is wrong. Look stateside. I know not everyone is high on him but look at Andre Ward. He debuted on HBO and fought his first few on TV with some scares and then got taken off and out of the limelight and it's in that period where he's been able to hone his game and is now on his way to a title shot while Khan is left to rebuild. I haven't seen any improvement, no refinement in Khan's game since I first saw him when he was still within his first 5 fights.
It's not done for him, but he needs to figure out how to take a punch better and not get hit with those ridiculous looping shots that he got KO'd with.

I won't overrate him
But just because his resume is all bums doesnt mean his power isn't legit, its just unproven against anyone good yet.

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
Warren has made a massive investment in Khan and needs to now put his foot down, Khan has had a say in what division he fights in, what trainer he has but Warren has chosen the opponents, knowing Khan wasnt ready and not learning.
Khan isnt getting any decent sparring, hes not learning how to defend himself because he can control and overwhelm his sparring partners and against his soft opponents he wasnt being forced to learn either and the first decent puncher he faces, bang!!
Warren needs to pack Khan with his new trainer and no hangers on away to an american gym where he will have shiit loads of tough sparring and he wont be able to play the celebrity either, if he did that you would get an improvement before his next fight, as it is he wont go anywhere.

Re: Khan Exposed - No surprises
Kahn had just better thank his lucky stars Prescott didn't connect on that follow up haymaker right hand......of course he got to thank those stars in person as they were circling his head for the next half hour
