Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
He goes on to say it was a mistake but the only way he could give Amir what he wanted was to sign a 7 fight ppv deal with Sky tv.
Warren also confirmed that Khans next fight will indeed be a ppv event
Good column and read, sounds like Warren is not liking Khan and in particular his father who Warren says "Makes Don King seem like a bad negotiator"

Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
Khan has too many advisors who know jack shit about boxing. He may be happy enough as it'll line his pocketts without making him a champ.
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
i definatley wont be buying khans fight on ppv again, did last time and khan was shocking and so was audley
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
I think it will be a record, the least amount of PPV buys EVER for his next fight.

I wasn't going to buy it but I did. If we could be guaranteed that everytime I would buy it everytime.

Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
Warren is looking for a scapegoat. Although i think he is partially correct. He doesn't want to take the full responsibility despite being the PROMOTER. The bigger KHAN's purse, the bigger Warren's share become. Those greedy bastards. I wonder if our buddies in UK will still buy this kind of crap event again.

If we can see that happen again YES!

In (very half-hearted) defence of Warren he had to pull out all the stops financially considering Khan was out of contract and a free agent, he just got seriously burnt ;D

Warren id very good at building careers. He isnt the best when his fighters are at the top Hamed, Hatton and Calzaghe all pissed him off.
Khan will too.
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
Who really needs Warren or a promoter, they are pimps and should only get £100 for their efforts.

I don't think Khan will reach that level!

I think Khan will still win a version. He will be spoon fed cans until a really weak title holder comes along. Anyone even semi elite will KO Khan Warren knows that.
What intrests me is what do they do with him they cant bring him back with a total bum due to it being a ppv. Warrens best friends are faded Featherweights. That said id like to see him fight Arthur but realistically it will be a featherfisted dwarf.

Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
I feel sorry for Warren , he always has the fans best interests at heart ,
he brings us nothing but the best time and time again , the best promoter of all time.
Khan is also the best prospect in boxing , who has that Mexican toughness we have seen in guys like JCC , he has the power of Hawk Jackson , and the speed of RJJ.
He will go on to be the very best P4P , and it will all be thanks to Frank Warren. All the talk of Khan having a glass jaw , and Warren being the biggest wanker on the planet is simply not true , i hope this clears a few things up , also i admire Joe Calzaghe.
:Sarcasm:

Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
#Whilst I don't like Warren much the more I read or see of Khan, he appears to be more and more of a prick all the time.
Hope his next fight he gets sparked

The first bit was revealed before the fight. The second bit seems interesting though.

Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
Damn I knew I should have bought NOTW and not the Sundsay Times
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
All Warren and Khan did the other week was rob people blind of there hard earned cash.
Khan - greedy little prick
Warren - greedy fat prick...Who also cant take responsibility of his own fighters..."I had to go on PPV to give Khan what he wanted"
Fuck what Khan wants..Its probably all his fault Khan has ended up like this. Putting him all in the lime light..
On PPV...COMMON WEALTH...pllllllllleeeaaassse come back to earth.
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
Khans next fight will be on PPV?, I don't think he'll even sell out a venue
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
Believe it or not Warren isnt a Bad chap. Ive known Him Bankroll Fighters for more than there next Purse. Hes lost thousands doing it for Fighters to Help them out. Plus He doesnt make the Money that People think He does.
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
I agree with Scrap. Warren isn't that bad as promoters go and he puts on lots of shows and keeps a lot of fighters earning. Promoting isn't a guaranteed masive earner like some people think and there's a hell of a lot of work involved. You don't just book a hall, sell tickets and sit in the front row on fight night. British boxing wouldn't be in as relatively a healthy state as it's in without Warren.

Im from the UK yes , and i dont dislike Calzaghe at all , i hate him ;D
i really dont have the time to list all the reasons why.

Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
Dont matter whether it's on PPV. I'll be watching Khan fights on a stream like I did his last fight. Fukk Frank Warren. Fat pie eating bastard.

The only "good" thing about that is the bill MUST have to be stacked with top fights (probably wont ).

Stacking it with top fights would require top boxers and Warren doesn't have any. British boxing is looking pretty rubbish right now outside of Hatton Haye and Calzaghe.

Well.. Cook will defend the WBO title on the bill. Kevin Mitchell (think his hand injury will be healed by then), Enzo Macc.. err.. the Prescott fella that caned Khan.. err ...yeah you're right - it'll be a serious struggle :-\

Now there's a PPV fighter.
I feel sorry for Warren actually. Don King cleaned him out in a court case about a decade or so ago and Setanta might do the same if they win their current legal action against him. Warren might end up retiring with less money than some of the boxers he's looked after.
-
Re: Warren: The only way i could pay Khan what he wanted was on ppv.
I did not know Setanta are taking him to court, what for?
