in another post lyle said if mayorga can beat shane it may set up a fight against margarito
that would be the most amazing fight i swear lol, it would get more ppv views than anything else this year probably, wouldbe the most exciting fight definetly
i would go for margarito in 7 but who knows maybe mayorga could touch his chin!?

It would be over quickly whatever the result. Mayorga would try to tee off on Margarito's chin because it's there for the tapping and either Margarito would be able to take that kind of power or he wouldn't. If he could then he'd slice Mayorga up like a cantaloupe and be home in time for dinner. If not then Mayorga's done what pretty much nobody else has been able to do. But this wouldn't last beyond 4, IMO. And if I'm Margarito, I'm not making the fight unless Mayorga comes down to 147 and it's not about being afraid, it's about respect. Margo is THE champ at 147 and Mayorga's been in limbo the past few years. I don't see Antonio coming to his backyard in any respect.

Well at Welterweight i don't think he can be hurt by anyone, the only reason he got hurt by Santos was because of the ridiculous weight difference, Margarito was moving up in weight. And like i said Santos had a slight height advantage so he was able to rock Margarito with shots on the top of the head/temple etc.Quote:

That was in the 4th round it was a counter shot and Margarito was off balance it caught him by suprise if i remember rightly. He wasn't hurt but he was having alot of trouble dealing with Clottey's style.Quote:

Tito ruined his chin much like he did to vargas, regardless though i think Mayorga does still carry alot of power, he is still the only fighter to stop Vernon Forest let us not forget

Margarito, IMO, should fight clottey or PW to reign supreme.. why beat around the bush? he just beat the best fighter in the division..

I appreciate the recognition...I always thought these guys would bring out the worst in each other which the end result would be GREAT for the fans.
Hell even Shane Mosley vs Margarito would be good if you ask me but Mayorga is a nasty guy and Margarito can be that way as well it would be like Roberto Duran vs Jake LaMatta or something
Margarito is there to be hit and has fairly slow punches that even Mayorga can get out of the way of, he wouldnt hold a strength advantage over Mayorga either.
This has the makings of an excelent fight but I think Mayorga would concentrate on trying to get the De La Hoya rematch after he beats Shane, I dont think Oscar would want it though, Mayorga still would represent too much danger and if Oscar and Ricky win their fights I reckon GBP will try to pair them off.
