Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
Watch out for George Hillyard (a vicious body snatcher from East london);D
Fights dirty but can seriously bang this boy!!
Seen him a few times before but he seems to be treading water of late:confused:
Minter and Bami must be in with a shout

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
Really like these tournemants, exciting nights they are
-
Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
local(ish) lad Mark Lloyd from Telford's a decent fighter i'll be hoping he does well, saw him at the Civic in Wolverhampton win the Midlands Area strap not long ago. Gotta think Bami's gotta be one of the favourites always looked decent.

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
awesome set up, I really cant wait for this!

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
Im looking really forward to this one!!Should be some great action throughout the tournament.Im looking to see our man Nigel Wright to win. He's a well experianced southpaw. He boxers for the construction firm i worked for(Gusrobinson ltd). He's 5/1 to win the tournament. There great odds for a really good fighter like him(Nice tip for you better panters out there).I fancy a little bet on George Hillyard to win too.He looks dangerous and can bang hard.At a price of 10/1 for him to win,you cant go wrong putting a few quid on him!!!Dont say i did'nt tell you's:D

Im not to sure what Neil Sinclair has left havent seen him fight in a while, but few years ago was a top operator and would of deffo won this back then, Nigel Wright i agree good bet at them odds, id say its between Wright and Sinclair.

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
You sure Wrights in it mate has he pulled out?
No odds for him when i checked on oddschecker.
I like Minter each way at 6/1 No way Bami is fav imo hes a 140 fighter, id take Minter to out muscle him if they met, Sinclair is 7/2 second fav defintly most talented fighter in the compitition but maybe a bit past it, but the level of talent in this i fancy him still.

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
I fancied Neil Sinclair on past form too.. but he's out.
The three round tear-up should suit Hillyard, he's been fighting around middleweight too.. but don't think he's got the class to beat a Bami :-\

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
Quarter-finals
George Hillyard v Ted Bami
Steve Conway v Mark Lloyd
Michael Lomax v Craig Dickson
Ross Minter v Nigel Wright
Semi-finals
Hillyard-Bami v Conway-Lloyd
Lomax-Dickson v Minter-Wright
Tough draw with Minter-Wright as a quarter :-\

Yeah i always have a bet ;D
I think the odds will change a bit now the draw is done.
Wright has an even money fight with Minter. I thought about backing Hillyard but he now has Bami first up... in fact i'm thinking about backing Bami considering he's in the otther half to Minter and Wright and their fight is a toss up.. I need to confuse myself by giving it more thought yet :-\

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
I think Wright might just edge and outbox Minter, any idea why Sinclair is out Fenster?

No mate, no inside knowledge, just noticed he'd gone from the betting.

I've just backed my man Nigel Wright to win outright at 4/1 at the coral bookmakers.Great odds them for a really good fighter as he is.I've also put some money on George Hillyard at 10/1.I think he'll be the black horse throughout the tournament:cool:
-
Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
One day to go!Im looking forard to this one.Im putting a bit more money on my man Nigel Wright tommorow. He's got a great chance of winning this, then again their all have a good change really.I've seen Nigel box a few times and he has all of the tools to do the job.Go on Wright!!!!!!;D

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
Hillyard is out. Didn't make the weight. That's duffed my bet up.. cause now I see Bami making the final.
Still can't decide about the Wright-Minter winner :-\
-
Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
Manchester fighter Chris Johnson one of the reserves for prizefighter has been taken to hospital suffering from dehydration after hitting the sauna to get his weight down.

Blimey.. and he was'nt even guaranteed a fight.
I take it the reserves get a few bob even if they don't fight then?

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
I decided to back Minter to beat Wright.
So good luck with the bets on Wright. Hope you lose ;D

Ha!Minter v Wright should be a good fight for sure!I reckon Nigel Wright will box Minter from the outside and out point Minter! If Wright gets past Minter then he'll win the full tournament!I've put a £5 on my man Wright to win oiut right. He has all the tools to do this job:p;D
-
Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
I've backed my local fighter Steve Conway to!I got him at a great price of 7/1.He used to box not far away from where i live.He has a record of 33wins out of 44 and won the IBO light-middleweight in 2006 so he has really got a great chance!!!Canny lad too!

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
"What a fucking con!!!"Theres no way Lomax beat Nigel Wright in the semi final:oThe 3 judges got it soooooooooo wrong!Fucking con somewhere. The judges want shooting!
Not happy me like!
I've lost a fortune due to that soooo fucked dicision from the Lomax V Wright!!!
A back hander from the bookmakers there for sure!!!!!Im pissed off here!
-
Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
I cant believe that one of the three judges for the Prizefighter fight with Wright vs Lomax gave Lomax all three rounds:o:o!!!!!Which fight was he watching??:mad:I lost out a fortune because of that fucked up scoring!I feel sorry for Wright too.Nigel Wright has stated that he is making an appeal at the BBBC(British Boxing Board of Control)i dont blame him either!!I knew fine well that Wright was a real threat and at a great price at the bookmakers at 4/1.There was a back hander somewhere last night for sure!

Re: Prizefighter ..Welterweights
Unlucky with the Wright bet. I thought he beat Lomax but, to be honest, didn't see it as a travesty result or anything like that.
I knew my outright bet on Bami was funked when they revealed Lomax had beaten him twice in the Ams.. wish i knew that beforehand

Alright they mate!!Ha sods law eh?:rolleyes:I know the feeling missing out on the bets!!!Wright for me easlier won!It was plane obvisous:o.You could tell Wright would have had a great chance on beating Bami during the fight he had with Lomax in their semi.Wright still looked really fresh and had plenty more in the tank as reserve for the final.Him and his corner were planning it out greatly until that fucked up desison from the judges!!!
