Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Carl Froch: I'm the future...
CARL FROCH insists he is the future of the super-middleweight division.
The unbeaten British and Commonwealth champ has to ditch his domestic titles on December 6 when he fights Canadian Jean Pascal for the WBC crown in Nottingham.
A month earlier Joe Calzaghe takes on Roy Jones Jnr in what is the undisputed super-middleweight king’s final fight.
Froch chased a showdown with Calzaghe but the fight was never made.
He said: “It’s frustrating he refused to fight me. But he’s history in November.
“I’m the future, I’ll be rewarded in front of my home fans when I win the title.”

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Well, he's a douche-bag, but he's definitely a promising fighter. I'm interested in seeing how he performs against Pascal (who I am not at all impressed by).
I happen to think Bute/Kessler are more likely to be the future of SMW however.
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Someone Carls age isnt going to be the future of any weight division, if he wins the WBC, he'll end up ina long line of fighters that lost it as quick as they wan it;D
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
The future at 31 ? thats one of the oldest supposed future's i've ever seen.
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Even if Carl beats Pascal he'll struggle to get the big fights that would really test his ability.
I feel he will retire with us never knowing how good he was
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Carl knows how much the fight with Pascal means to him. He will beat him and will have many promising fights with great 168 contenders. I cant wait ;D

I like your faith in the Cobra and good luck to him, I just don't see him getting the big fights

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Everyone else agree that Pavlik would knock Froch out right now?
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Do they? I certainly dont. I'd back Froch to beat Pavlik.

Me neither!
Froch hits way harder than Pavlik for a start and with pavliks sperious beard i think the cobra would put him out cold with that brutal cross come uppecut:)
Froch throws punches that you don't see and Pavlik is so static he simply be a sitting duck.
Froch will get a title imo, something i said long ago.
Least this thread should take some of the shit off JC for a while eh chaps;D
Unbelievable;D;D

I think a good boxer would beat Froch maybe stop him. Pavlik is a banger ans Froch is all wrong for him. If it turned into a slug fest Pavlik would get smashed, Froch hits way harder.
Box Froch everything off the jab backing up and you`ll retire him.

On the other side of the coin..Froch is all wrong for evryone he's fought, almost Naz like with his mad angles (admits it himself that Naz was a huge inspiration),I just see Frochy thumping him silly to be honest as i'm way from convinced of Pavliks chin and Taylor who is by no means a banger had him all over the shop in a matter of minutes.
trust me Froch is the most heavy handed SM out their.
Would be some fight and your right if Pavlik could avoid the tear up and use his jab (and it is a good one) he could maybe ware him down but he's too static and rarely moves his head;)

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
At 31 Froch is far to young for Pavlik.
Kelly likes the geriatrics.

When Brian Magee boxed him behind a good stiff jab he had him in all sorts of trouble. Infact ithink it was even going into the 11th and Magee is no master boxer.
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Someone else touched on this but i was working ringside and magee never had him in trouble once..Froch was even chatting to Jim Watt while in a clinch and was clearly heard saying (and i quote) "Jim,Jim watch this" he then nodded to Watt then knocked magee down lol;D
Brilliant stuff...he hurt his hand badly during that fight and still put Magee into a semi coma and the O2 mask for a good minute;)
Magee was game all night but Froch could have ended that sooner bar the injury.

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
As it happens i took a pic of the very moment that i'll post in a bit:cool:

I think this is what he wants. what's that old saying? It's better to remain untested and be thought a shit fighter, than to have a go and remove all doubt.

Froch in round 2 or 3 telling Jim Watt to "Watch this Jim" he put Magee on the deck seconds later...

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Hmm.. dunno about all this Froch lark.. he was lucky in the Magee fight that Magee can't break eggs. I think he NEEDED that KO.. could have easily lost on the cards.
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Im not a big fan of Froch. Something tells me though that he beats Pavlik, he'll match Pavlik physically, be able to take what he's got and give it back. Would be a great fight I reckon.
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Froch's on bunce on setanta at 2pm today. It's a decent show that.
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Hopefully with the WBC belt (if he wins) he'll be able to land a big Pavlik-type name...
Even though i'm not a big Froch fan, I would love it (doing me best Kevin Keegan impression) if he beat Pavlik.

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
What happened to Hennesey/Goldenboy? I thought that was going to pave the way for big fights for Froch, maybe it will with a title to his name assuming they are still in bed together.

lol.
Quality. Just hope he is good enough because where he has been at and where he needs to be with the likes of Kessler or Bute are worlds apart. Sort of the difference between Michael Gomez and Bredis Presscot if you know what i mean.
Pascal is a good B level test. He has needed this kind of test for a long time.

Yeah Hennesey was all harping on about him and Goldenboy.. all he's done is nearly get John Murray beat in a Mexico vs Britain promotion.. don't think anything else has come of it :-\

well i think carl is big risk little reward for a lot of fighters thats why i think Inkin ducked him twice. But if he gets the belt and makes a strong defence fighters like Inkin, kessler and Bute will be wanting to get a piece of Carl im sure. He cant be ducked for his whole career.

Froch is definatly big risk due to him being untested and his power.
Id like to see him fight Taylor or Kessler in the newyear. My gut feeling is Mick will give him a few soft defences which at 31yo he doesnt need.
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Froch is an overrated fighter. Who has he fought that is worth mentioning?
Taylor would dominate Froch.
After the Calzaghe fight, I would argue that Kessler would dominate him, but Kessler looked sluggish in his last fight and now is fighting another tune-up fight, which makes me think that Kessler may not have been as good as people say. Or, in the alternative, Calzaghe took his heart.
Bute has a big fight with Andrade in November. Let's see how he handles this test. Kessler dominated Andrade. I like Bute beating Froch too.
A good fight for Froch would be someone of the Allen Green ilk. A fringe contender. Maybe even a Peter Manfredo, especially if Peter Manfredo beats Sakio Bika, which he is unlikely to do.

I think he should maybe see where Kessler goes, because Kessler after his JC loss is getting a few win under his belt and rightfully so. He needs to also see what Bute does or the other beltholder, unification is going to be the key to these great fights, but Carl knows that hes fighting the best hes ever fought now and hes ready for the bigger names. So if all goes to plan and he beats Pascal we will see these fights.

It does concern me that Kessler is fighting another low-ranked fighter. I hope Kessler comes back and fights Froch,Bute,Taylor,Pavlik.

He just lost to the best fighter he needs to rebuild his confidence! The bigger fights will come for him.

I hope so ive seen a lot of fighters waste what they have fighting gimmies. The Calzaghe loss was a bad one i hope that this is Kesslers last "confidence" builder.

Pavlik would KO Froch in under 6.

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Can you back that up with any facts as to why you are so confident please?
We could well say the same about Carl who 100% bangs harder.
It's a pick em plain and simple but i see the Cobra taking him out;)

I know your being sarcastic but i want to pull you up on something, first off Kelly Pavlik was stunned from a equilibrium shot not a shot to the chin which makes your legs go to jelly. I don't know if you've ever done boxing but temple shots and shots to your equilibrium, make your legs do break dancing...........
Even an iron chinned fighter like Antonio Margarito, was stunned various times from a shot to the temple and shots on top of the head, that doesn't mean Kelly Pavlik has a suspect chin.

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
Mate you've allegedly had what 3...4 fights? Quit it with the 'you've obviously never boxed line, its getting tired.
It carry's absolutely no weight whatsover. Scraps been in the game for hundreds of years, he gets it wrong all the fucking time ;D
-
Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
In fact scrap what I said, I take it all back. Amir Khan got hit with a shot to the top of the head so Im going to write off his loss, he isnt chinny at all.

First off why don't you read what i said, i said "i don't know if you've done boxing before" i never said you've obviously never boxed before, which is totally different. I was just explaining something i wasn't trying to be funny.
As your other comment Amir Khan took a grazing punch on the forehead, then was knocked down by *CHIN SHOTS* so again i don't understand why your being sarcastic, because your wrong.

Re: Carl Froch - "I'm the future"
So all the shots Taylor landed were directly on the temple/eardrum?
Is that what we are saying?
