Fastest Hands in boxing
There are a lot of boxers with quick hands nowadays, out of currently active boxers, who has the quickest?
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
I don't know if he's the fastest, but Berto came to mind immediately.
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Dawson & Juan Diaz come to mind.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
I don't think there is a clear winner here, i picked berto he may not be the fastest but also can't say anyone else on here clearly is faster.
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Berto clearly has the fastest hands, I just watched him after Pacquaio and he is way faster, I think Chad Dawson should be up there, Roy Jones Jr still has upper level handspeed p4p, he has faster hands than Calzaghe still. Demetrius Andrade should be immediately put up there when he starts his pro career.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
I voted Guzman.
Calzaghe didn't look as fast against the awkward Hopkins, but there's no doubt he's got serious speed in the flurries.
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Calzaghe has fast combinations, but he has slow individual punches.
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
tough decision.
Pac was the first fighter to come to mind.
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Berto with his quick martial art hands.
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
I'm gonna go JC although the power ain't there because the shite hands
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Amir Khan. Shame about his chin. Guy has real fast hands though.

-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
I voted for Berto but I believe Roy Jones is in the top 3 of this category certainly alot faster than Calzaghe

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
What about the "Greatest"Ali?;)
From the list,i would have to go with Calzaghe:cool:

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Gotta go with Yuriorkis Gamboa. His speed reminds me so much of Roy Jones, who had IMO the fastest hands in the history of boxing.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Abner Mares has some of quickest counter shots i've ever seen, and how about Roman Gonzalez ?
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
I would have voted Juan Diaz but he's not on the list.
So I voted Hozumi.
Here's how I see it
1. Diaz
2. Hozumi
3. Zab
4. Guzman
5. Pac
6. Berto
7. Calzaghe
8. Gamboa
9. BCD
10. Oliver
Honors: RJJ, Roman Gonzalez, JuanMa, Anitllon, Katsidis, Victor Ortiz, Povetkin.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
i voted for zab judah...becuz he was beating mayweather (who is also super fast) to the punches in the first half of their fight...zab needs more conditioning
-

Agreed. Jones STILL has faster hands than Calzaghe.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
For me its between Guzman and Judah.
Judah's Left Uppercut is a thing of beauty.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing

I find that somewhat hard to fathom. I agree that he can flurry with speed, but on the other hand I dont think he throws a single punch slowly. Calzaghe has very good handspeed overall.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Calzaghe's combo's may be slaps, but they are thrown with amazing speed.
-
Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Roy Jones still fast.
Amir Khan also has fast hands and does David Haye.

it's easier to throw faster when there's nothing on them.

Its a myth that Calzaghe has no power. He beat Lacy up stopped Manfredo hurt Kessler. The only fight in which he looked inefectual was against Hopkins.

Trivia question: How many times did Calzaghe have to hit Lacy to knock him down?
Not bagging Calzaghe, but he hasn't had power in years. The stoppage against Manfredo was beyond early, it was a horrible stoppage, no way he could have won, but no way can you say Manfredo was hurt. Kessler never looked in trouble, swollen yeah, but he never looked wobbly or anything.

Re: Fastest Hands in boxing
Jorge Linares should be on that list IMO; he's got pretty fast hands to me.

His power isnt great but its enough to bust you up and make you think twice. Kessler was hurt badly to the body in the 8th he admitted it after the fight.
